So you'd be pissed about, like, Owens+ for David Wright?

The trap people fall into is they call these really good guys untouchable save for Stanton, but because they're already holding them so highly, they start to overrate them, and turn down other very good deals. Like, Soler is a better prospect than Owens (hell, almost by virtue of being a position player alone), but since he's "untouchable except for Stanton," guys wouldn't do that, even though it's a good deal.

I go off trade rumors basically not fantasy, Stanton's name comes up in rumors so I use him as an example. Wright is never in rumors, is 31, and makes quite a bit of money...so no I wouldn't necessarily love David Wright for Owens+ honestly.

As long as Scott Boras is his agent, yeah. Yeah, I would.

And by extension every worse prospect cannot be untouchable.

This is probably the best way to go about it. I was a little hesitant to throw Buxton and Bryant on that list, but they're 1 and 1A right now to most people.

Makes perfect sense. I feel the same way about some of our prospects. I wouldn't want to see any of our guys go, that's why I can't really get behind the "Price to CHC" rumors. I just don't think it makes sense.

I also feel that way about Starlin Castro. Man, if he gets moved I'll be so ****ty.

I just need to proof read whenever I throw out untouchable, because more times than not I don't really mean it. I just value them higher than others so I would trade them in deals for better players, of course in real life it is wide open and who knows what will happen but in my franchise I try and keep it realistic and value some of the guys higher than others, won't be making those Barnes and Ranaudo for above average CP/RP because I don't see the point in it when they both could come out of the pen in a year or two.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

In my 2nd season in 2013 Mets franchise (yes I still play old franchises). IMO I've built up a pretty good farm system and think its time to unload some pieces for a blockbuster. I'm only in May so any trade wouldn't happen until the offseason because I'm slowly dropping out of contention. I'll list some guys I have that could be had a trade.

RF Pete Gunn - High A 19 yr old 69ovr Draft pick
            Syndergard- 77ovr
Ike Davis- Before you laugh.. This Ike can actually play. He hit .263 for me last year with 39HR and 100 RBI. So far this year he's hitting.313 with 8HR and 24RBI. 26yr old listed as low A but not sure how much more hes gonna improve. 81ovr
SS Abe Poirier- Low A 19yr old 61ovr draft pick
1B Lenny Gilchrist- High B Draft pick 60ovr 19yr old
            Nimmo 65ovr High B
            Montero-79ovr High B
            Tapia-76ovr Mid B
Jackie Bradley Jr. -Aquired at deadline last year. Mid B 78ovr. Won rookie of the year last year but struggling this year.
Gary Brown- Deadline last year, again nothing like his current self. Mid B 80ovr 25yr old hitting .300 for me so far in the majors this year
            Matz- 68 ovr Low B
John Gast 79ovr High C Deadline last year.
            Plawecki 68ovr High C
            Niese- 81ovr
Seth Maness- Deadline last year, 79ovr Mid B
Heath Hembree 25yr old 79ovr Mid B Rule 5 Draft pick

Obviously not all these guys are prospects but I just included guys I could and willingly would give up in the right deal. Looking for any major Outfielder, Starter, Shortstop that would semi realistically be traded and could be had for the pieces above. Sorry for the length !

            Thanks

I know there are only small rumors and it's probably very unlikely that it actually happens because they don't have assets other teams have but what would it realistically take for the Brewers to somehow get Price? I would assume value wise they'd have to get Braun back along with the top 2 or so prospects. But realistically I don't think the Brewers would want to give up Braun so is it even feasible to make this trade with just prospect for the Brewers?

Jean Segura and Jimmy Nelson would have to be playing, like, REALLY well.

I have a question on the Red Sox selling. The Rangers got back two pretty solid prospects for Soria, now if Koji is having the season he is having in real life or like 2013 what do you think he could get? Just a hypothetical for now, just really curious because if it is a decent amount I don't see why not dealing him off.

Taking his age into account, basically why I am asking. Not sure if he could get Soria type return with his age but would like a rating.

                    Realistically, a similar amount.

Sweet, sounds good to me. His numbers are about identical to real life in my franchise with less strikeouts. So i'll go look and see who needs an arm.

Reyes is the only piece in here he can afford, most likely. Synder could work and the Jays could take on a bad contract along with him. Or one of the draft picks. Ike might work.

That RF Pete Gun, Syndergard, and the SS Abe Poirier look like they could bring in someone I mentioned though. That's 3 A pot prospects and one is a High A spect

Is Reyes really the only one? I mean thats 3 A's, some proven Major league talent, and a couple mid and high B's. Not to mention guys like Murphy and Parnell that I still have.

I didn't even list some of the other A potential prospects I have because they are the kind that have low overalls and may not make this bigs into the early 2020's. I dont know what kind of value those players hold in people's mind
