From everything I have read and seen, Franklin is more of a offensive threat but more suited to play 2B, were Taylor is a much better defensive SS, but doesn't come with as good of bat. but a .314 BA with 11 Triples 8 HR's 60 RBI and 38 SB's in 2013 playing in A+ and AA and .328 BA with 7 Triples 5 HR's 37 RBI and 14 SB's for in 2014 at AAA, I would probably lean toward Taylor as his bat looks pretty decent from those #'s.

I could see something like Taylor and E.Ramiez or J. Paxton along with a OF like J. Morban or J. Blash or if you are wanting/needing a OF to take Gardner's spot, you could add in someone like M. Saunders or D. Ackley and change the SP to a guy like Beavan or Maurer who could give you MLB/AAA innings as a #4/#5 type starter, long relief guy.

Funny thing as soon as I decided on Taylor and came in here you wrote this lol... But yea im gonna go with him. So it's Gardner and Kuroda going your way correct?

Hard to say being how it's the middle of May, so it's unlikely that a team would be looking to make a trade unless their original rotation was hit with injuries. Are there any teams in your Franchise that have SP's on the DL for extended amounts of time?

Spreadsheet values Garcia at a pair of High C's.

However if you are looking for realistic, the the Cards would need a SP because they have real life injuries including Garcia who went on the D.L. in July.

In my M's Franchise, I kept Iwakuma and T. Walker in Single A until they made their real life appearances and moved guy's like B. Beavan there when he went on the 60 day DL because I couldn't put him on it in my Franchise.

However every plays their Franchises differently..

Oh I wasn't including Kuroda in the deal. If it's both, then that changes things.

How does the M's rotation look? Kuroda is worth a Mid B via the trade sheet so you could something like what I wrote but take Taylor+Paxton/Ramirez+Ackley/Saunders. Or you might look at 3B P. Kivlehan. He is 24 and is known for his bat .317 7 HR's at AA Jackson this year. He will be blocked by Seager and possibly Peterson (more likely he ends up at 1B), so he could be a could addition for you to have at 3B down the road.

Nvm there rotation is pretty solid and they just called up Walker so they won't be needing Kuroda so I'll find another team to trade him to.. So then Gardner for Taylor, Ramirez and Morban good then?

Yankees are 5 back in division, leading wild card by 3. They need bullpen help and the CPU has been trying to get Ogando from the Rangers who are out of it. Ogando is tearing it up, 34 innings 1.67 era. What's fair to send back from the yanks.

I'd start with one of their catchers. I'm not sure if the Rangers catching depth has imploded as IRL though, in your franchise.

I'd trade Robertson, Gardner, Kuroda, Gary Sanchez, and another prospect fo a nice haul that will get you an RF and some good infield talent. You can then try to resign those guys, not including Sanchez in the off season.

Aaron Judge has RF on lockdown, does he not? At least midway through next year he hopefully will.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Wasn't planning on making any more trades for my Marlins (July 26 in game), but saw that maybe Cishek and Dunn could be shopped (source: http://www.fishstripes.com/2014/7/22...-trading-block not sure if that's still true, not exactly easy to find Marlins news and I don't live in Florida).

Looking at my franchise contenders - the Tigers could use bullpen help (and maybe pitching help in general).

Could also move Dunn (interestingly enough, Dunn's spreadsheet value is almost as good as Cishek's - interesting), and probably would prefer to.

They are looking for RP (not CL) so it looks like Dunn would be more interesting to them.

The A's are another possibility. It looks like they have the worst team ERA among strong contenders and they are trying to hang around the M's for the West (just 3 back and have matching W4 streaks and 8-2 L10 records).

Looking at the roster, the A's have a real depth problem in their bullpen, so I might would rather deal with them.

Ideas for either Tigers or A's for acquiring either Cishek or Dunn (or maybe both?)

Still kinda want to see if I can make a deal with the Cubs. Starlin Castro is having a good year but Baez is hitting around .210-.220. Deuce said in an earlier post that if Starlin is having a good year and the Cubs are in the hunt, then he could see them trading Baez. I like that idea lol. They need pitching and I would put Cosart (85 Ovr, Mid-High B pot, 9-1 2.34 ERA) in the deal.
I want the deal to be realistic, so would it be realistic for the Cubs to deal Baez?
BTW I am in late June in year 2. Starlin Castro is hitting around .290/.328/.427

Interesting - I'm pretty much in the same situation (9 1/2 out, 6 1/2 out of the WC) - and on a recent win streak...scary lol

However, it does say that if the Marlins do sell - Cishek, Dunn, McGehee are probable interesting pieces.

So my question still sorta stands.

I don't know if I should buy or sell, really. Yeah, could get back deeper into it, or lose 5 or 6 in a row again lol.

If I do turn into a buyer (wouldn't be looking for a SP - my Fernandez isn't out for the year and guys like Sanchez, Nicolino and going to try Henderson Alvarez again...which he was doing solidly like in real life..), I'd be into a 2B for sure (sorry Solano) - also like the idea of a solid AAA type who might be ready soon.

Gonna have to use the player search and see if there's any reasonable guys in my franchise that match that.

He's in Tampa right now at A+ ball, so i hope they don't rush him up next year. Though he's doing well there, I hope that he's at least a September callup next year. With Beltran and Teix on the books for another 2 years after this, the RF/1B/DH will be consistently occupied by those two. I'd say he gets the full-time gig after 2016.
