Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That's why I don't get agitated over it.
The trades the CPU makes - most of them are no worse than what I've seen two human GMs make in a sim baseball league.
The universes that are our franchises aren't the same as the real MLB. Otherwise, I should be up in arms that the Mets are the best team in the NL. Not exactly how it's working for them in reality.
Second of all, looooooooooooooooool.
Now that I have that out of my system...
300+ posts of "broken trade logic" would beg to differ with your claim above. The entire reason that we are in here is because the game cannot do what we can (nor can it come within the same galaxy of this competency), and that's consider a deal using a pertinent mix of variables while having that oh so human ability to discuss, debate, and refine. There is no chance the Show is on par with 'dudes in a sim league' unless one of them is 4 and the other one is from a country that doesn't know what baseball is. Everyone seems to get the April Javier Baez+ for Tyler Clippard deal, which is all anyone needs to know. And that's not even the worst trade offer the cpu cooks up. In fact, we should make a thread to catalog all of this big fail.
If you want to play with force trades off, whatever floats your boat, but the assertion that the cpu cleverly rejecting one of your trades is somehow intelligent design or adds to the realism is a bit absurd. This, again, is the same cpu logic that deals Javy Baez for 32 y/o RPs in April that you are taking advice from. With even a little bit of practice, the dumbest monkey in the world would dominate the cpu trade logic in crafting fairer/more realistic, nuanced deals (heck, we might even be able to learn something from a monkey like this).Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Would Rasmus be able to net me Lorenzo Cain and a bottom of the rotation starter? I would add a prospect if need be. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Royals: Rasmus
Jays: Cain, Miley
D-Backs: Almonte
But idk, now that Cain and Miley have broken out I dunno if it's as fair as it was when I did it. But you can try something like that."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

That's a good idea but Miley is out 4 months lol. Think I could grab Cain and a reliever then for Rasmus? Which one would be fair?

You really love 3 team deals lol

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Phillies - Rasmus
Blue Jays - Byrd + Burnett
Mariners - Rasmus
Blue Jays - Ackley + De La Rosa
Rockies - Pike
Stuff like this could work.
Sometimes it's the only way to fill the needs of the teams involved. Teams don't always have the assets necessary. Rasmus was brought to Toronto in a 3 team deal, why not be shipped out in one too?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am using 30 team control and trying to help a contending team make a trade. The Orioles are the contending team and the Royals are the sellers. How does this trade look?
BAL sends: SP Eduardo Rodriguez (low A, 20 y/o 63 Ovr)
SP Mike Wright (High B, 24 y/o 69 Ovr) 11-5 2.89 ERA in AAA
Jonathan Schoop (low B, 22 y/o 75 Ovr) .228/.283/.315 in 86 games
KC sends: James Shields (89 Ovr, 32 y/o) 7-8 3.06 ERA in majors
I am at the trade deadline and the Orioles are leading their division and the Royals are out of it. I feel like the Orioles might not be giving up enough but I can swap out Schoop with another one of the Orioles many pitching prospects.

Again, probably not fair, lol.
Phillies - Rasmus
Blue Jays - Byrd + Burnett
Mariners - Rasmus

Rockies - Pike

Not bad. Not an ackley fan though. What about Denard Span, Austin Jackson, Danny Santana. Any of these attainable with Rasmus and more?
