I am looking for a young catcher to fill the void left by Salty, and Rob Brantly Is batting .219 since being put into the starting lineup. I feel like Zunino would be perfect for that role. If I was going to deal Stanton to the M's I would have to get Walker for sure just to start off. Finally, I feel like we can kick start Montero's bat in Miami in a possible platoon, as he is insanely good against lefties. So what would It take to get Yonder Alonso, who has pretty good contact ratings against righties, away from San Diego?

Hey guys I'm doing a Marlins Franchise and am looking to deal Giancarlo away. Here are some of my ideas, and some of the trades I have already made.
Dodgers Receive:
C Jarrod Saltalamacchia 80 OVR B Potential
RP Octavio Dotel 72 OVR B Potential
Marlins Receive:
3B Corey Seager 65 OVR B Potential
SP Julio Urias 67 OVR B Potential
Indians Receive:
RP Michael Dunn 76 OVR C Potential/A.J. Ramos 79 OVR B Potential
Marlins Receive:
3B Carlos Santana 83 OVR B Potential (This I will only do because Cleveland traded for Pablo Sandoval already and Casey McGehee is not getting it done)
Finally,
Mariners Receive:
OF Giancarlo Stanton 86 OVR A Potential
1B Garrett Jones 72 OVR C Potential
Marlins Receive:
SP Taijuan Walker 81 OVR A Potential
C Mike Zunino 76 OVR B Potential
1B Jesus Montero 76 OVR B Potential

The first two are not fair for the CPU, as you're ripping them off.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys, I am looking to build some power and fill some some areas of need that I will have in the future with my STL Cardinals franchise. I am also looking to rid myself of older OF players as Taveras is a bench player and Piscotty is tearing up AAA ball right now. We are only through mid-May, but I have a few prospects that I am searching through and trying to identify if I have the pieces to pull the trigger...
I am looking to add a young 3B prospect with some pop to his bat:
Joey Gallo (3B) - Texas Rangers (19-10, 3.0GA Seattle)
Maikel Franco (3B) - Philadelphia Phillies (18-11, tied with Nats)
I am also looking for a young defensive minded SS prospect. I have Jhonny Peralta right now, and he is playing very well, but I do not have a long-term solution at SS:
Corey Seager (SS) - LA Dodgers (13-17, 5GB)
Raul Adalberto Mondesi (SS) - KC Royals (17-12, 1.5GB of Indians)
I have a few deals in order, just to see what you guys think of them:
STL sends Jaime Garcia(3-1, 1.80ERA), Rob Kaminsky (high-B pot)
TEX sends Gallo, relief pitcher
(STL gets young hard-hitting 3B and a relief pitcher and Texas gets a #2/#3 pitcher to fall in behind Darvish and they get a good young pitching prospect)
Another trade idea I have is a huge, groundbreaking trade, which doesn't seem that unrealistic (in my opinion) if the standings stay about the same as they are now... a 3-Team Trade:
Cleveland receives Elvis Andrus (from TEX); Ramsey (from STL)
Texas receives Matt Holliday, possible PTBNL
STL receives Francisco Lindor (CLE)
I know that trade isn't perfect, but is it plausible? I understand that Lindor is a very big piece in the CLE farm system, but I believe that Andrus is young enough and good enough to step in that role. He is also a better "now" player because he can step in and play now and help them win now. Texas receives a good OF and may need something else in return and gets to open SS for Profar, and STL can get that SS prospect they will need in future years.
Just trying to get input on my franchise movements. Thanks for any help.
Second deal has the Rangers getting ripped off badly. Matt Holliday is not close to fair value for Andrus.
The general flavor has you dumping spare parts on your team for some of the best prospects in the game and that's not going to fly. You have to realize that teams are not going to let you do this to them realistically.
In addition to that, it is way way too early for teams to be doing major deals with their best prospects. 30 games in and no one knows whether they are contending or not.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys. Have been thinking over the deal where I give Rasmus to the Ms for Saunders, Maurer, Medina. I played a couple games while I thought and now Saunders is on the DL. After looking at stats Saunders (rated 79) was batting .282 with 7 HR and 39 RBI and batting everyday for the Ms so maybe he would be better off staying put. Jones however has been back and forth AAA all year and has batted .216 with 3 steals and barely anything else.
I signed Soriano at the beginning of the year to mainly bat LHP but the last month he has been great against both right and left and is batting .270 with 12 homers and 27 RBI in a platoon+ situation so I wouldn't mind getting him more time.
I was thinking about sending Rasmus for Jones, Maurer and Medina is that fair?
Also my rotation consists now of Stroman, Morrow, Maholm (traded), Marcum (signed) and sighhhh Ricky Romero. My DL now consists of dickey, buehrle, hutch, Sanchez and happ.
I know for a fact I want Medina and Maurer, but maybe I could get a third team involved where I could get another starter or a 2B/SS (backup type). Lawrie has been playing 2nd and he and Reyes are on the DL for another 20 days and I'm rocking Izturis and Barney (trade) ATM. Iz has been good but Barney has batted .213 with no other numbers and goins/kawa have been pitiful in AAA so maybe I could snag a backup MIF in this deal.
Any suggestions?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You are not close on either one of these. First of all, Gallo is a Top 25 prospect and Jaime Garcia and Kaminsky is not nearly enough.
30 games in and no one knows whether they are contending or not.
Garcia is just not very good... he gets smacked around and the only logical reason why the Cardinals would keep him is because they're short on lefties that can eat big innings. As soon as Gonzales is ready to be a contributor, he's gone. Kaminsky is good and he's got #2/3 upside imo... That just isn't going to cut it though for Gallo even though I have reservations about Gallo's ability to hit for average at the big league level. I would personally try to draft and develop a third baseman. Matt Carpenter is locked up until he's 34 I believe and he should be more than adequate for most of that contract.
Secondly, you're right that Holliday isn't getting shipped off for Andrus. The Rangers would probably want prospects in return for Andrus because they really need to reload their farm system. For reference, I just traded Matt Holliday in my franchise to the M's for James Paxton, Carson Smith and Chris Taylor and that was after he posted a .274ish, 35+ HR, 100+ RBI (sorry can't remember the exact numbers) season... arguably his best since 2007. Point is, Holliday is old and he's got a contract that will become baggage as soon as he declines.
That 3 way trade won't fly anyway either. Ramsey is probably a 4th outfielder at best and using him and Matt Holliday to move around Andrus and Lindor is not plausible. Lindor isn't going anywhere. He's a future .300+ with elite defense. That fact that he can actually stick at shortstop and play it at an elite level makes him one of the most valuable commodities in the game.Last edited by royals19; 08-14-2014, 10:51 PM.
