Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Finishing up my trades for my Cubs franchise and looking to trade Nate Schierholtz. I listed the teams I thought would be interested in him and the prospects I was interested in from those teams.

    LAA - Hunter Green
TEX - Joey Gallo, Luke Jackson
KC - Miguel Almonte, Bubba Starling
    DET - Jake Thompson

I know some of these players are too valuable for Schierholtz, but I'm not too sure what he's worth so I just included a wide variety. Is he worth any of these prospects? Could I add someone to the deal to acquire any of these guys? Also could be some better fits I am not considering.

Definitely not. Those guys don't have a ton of value. If you want Holliday, you're definitely gonna have to pay a high, high price.

As a Tiger fan, I'm not sure they would part with their best pitching prospect for Schierholtz. Maybe a mix of 2 or 3 between Drew VerHagen, Casey Crosby, Kevin Ziomek, and Endrys Briceno.

That's actually a solid starting point, I'm a huge Porcello fan. Maybe with an actual defense behind him his ERA will line up with his peripherals.

I think you need one more solid piece in there, though. Porcello + Crawford/Knebel/Thompson + another solid, valuable piece should get you Shark.
Sorry by available I meant the Padres have all those guys available to pitch and they have good depth, thus having Erlin be expendable.

Cashner probaIfbly isn't available unless someone overpays for him. If someone wants to overpay for him then yeah he is.

Feliz could probably nab you a bat from the Twins, White Sox, Orioles, Astros, Angels or Cubs. Anyone you like there?
As a Padres player I would trade Rymer Liriano and Street for Feliz. Or something like Liriano and Venable or Liriano and Josh Johnson

I'm curious for fairness sake if I'm the red sox and want Archie Bradley what would I have to give up?

I actually don't think that's worth it for ARZ. They'd probably want a guy like Pedroia or Bogaerts for Bradley.

Also, sent you an email. Almost done with the spreadsheet.

I thought of Bogaerts as well and I understand your point. However with Owings, Gregorius and Ahmed (plus Pennington) in the organization, it feels like they're stacked at SS. That's why I went the pitcher, 2B, catcher route. Sure Bogaerts could play 3B in the desert and Prado move around a bit

Bogaerts >>>>>> all those guys though. Owings can just move to UTIL or whatever and Gregious and Ahmed are probably just guys. Also, Cliff Pennington. Like, really, Cliff Pennington.

Also, I fixed the #NAME error in the spreadsheet for ages, so everyone's age will be in there and updated to the second (literally). It's pretty simple actually. You were using the =YEARS function I think, which not everyone has. I just did =INT((NOW()-DOB)/365) which calculates the days between dates, puts it into years and rounds it. Worked perfectly.

I'm done the player notes and just at the player values for Cincy.

Thanks. I had to go with a formula that Open Office could handle since I don't have MS Office myself

I love Excel but went the cheap route after spending 400k on a new house in February. Had to cut down on expenses somewhere
