Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Have a Cardinals Franchise - now, generally, I try to develop my own players and make limited and realistic trades. But I had a 107 win season (2014 - first year of franchise), in which I made a massive trade and got Yu Darvish, Henderson Alvarez and Marcel Ozuna. I was swept by the Marlins in 3 playoff games (I generally only actually 'play' a few games per season, but play all playoff games).

Well, the next season, I figured I was all set for another really good season, but my team was about .500 in late May, so I decided it was time to try and pull off a blockbuster.

    2015 Angels Receive:
    Yu Darvish
    Marco Gonzales
    Jason Heyward

    2015 Cardinals receive:
    Mike Trout
Tyler Skaggs (was about 5-4, 4.80 ERA at that point)

Well, After that trade, we took off. Trout ended up winning the MVP - Batted .338 with 42 HR and 123 RBI.

Skaggs went 11-1 with my team, finishing 16-5.

I ended up facing the Angels in the World Series and beat them in 7 really fun, really close games. Was tied 0-0 in the 8th inning of game 7 - Darvish vs. Henderson Alvarez, and I took Darvish deep with Trout to make it 1-0, and ended up winning 2-0.

I don't have anything of value to add here, I just wanted to pick on AC for the Rays "stealing" Robertson.

Months after the season and this thread is still going strong...kudos to those that helped it stay that way!

What is his potential? In mine he is Mid B prospect. I would say if you want to go realistic give up a Lower-rotation arm that's in MLB now like Dillion Gee or maye Jon Niese. Or you could trade Daniel Murphy and get Guerrero and another low to mid B level prospect too.

I've got Russell Martin on the MLB roster. A.J Jimenez and Max Pentecost coming up so Dioner Navarro is sitting on the bench collecting a nice $4M. In need of relief help. Wondering if I should send him for a big right handed power arm.

I dealt Russell Martin (.212avg, 2hr, 16rbi) at the deadline to the Dodgers for Addison Russell (.252, 1hr, 22rbi) at AAA.

Using OSFM 2.0 Opening Day rosters (no spoilers, please)

Would love some input on getting my 2014 Mariners a leadoff hitter.

First, I have too many lefty bats. I'd like to add an OF, preferably CF. We have little team speed, and while we're having a nice year, I just don't have someone I'm happy with leading off.

We're currently 20-18, 2nd in the division, .5 game back of Oakland.

I was thinking of one of these two deals:

                  Seattle sends:
                  OF Austin Wilson (66/B/22)
                  RP Emilio Pagan ( 66/C/22)
                  To Mets for
                  OF Eric Young Jr. (73/C/28)

Both of these guys the Mets liked in a one for one. I figured 2 for 1 would be fair? The Mets are 19-19, 4 games back of the Nationals.

The other option is with the 16-22 Cubs, 4.5 games back of the Pirates.

                  Seattle sends:
                  ????
                  To Cubs for:
                  UT Emilio Bonifacio (75/C/28)

The Cubs like a lot of our guys--mostly pitching and prospects. They also like SS Brad Miller whom I have on the trade block. Would that or some combo of that work?

                  Thanks for taking a look!

I am in my second season with Oakland. In season 1 I traded for daniel murphy to be my second baseman. He has not panned out at all hitting just .220 in season 1 and hitting just over .200 in the first month of season 2. If I were to trade him, what would be a realistic get for him since he has not performed well and his stock is at his lowest?

Maybe a mediocre bullpen arm? What are you looking for?

On the major league roster all I need is either another second baseman or perhaps a utility infielder.

Maybe try and get yourself a younger 2B? Or you could maybe grab a nice back up INF + a prospect.

So what is Strasburgs value? I dont have any prospects valued at "Why even bother son" which is the stated value on the spread sheet. I have seen some reports that they could move him in the right deal, which I assume means an overpay, now that they have Max.

I am thinking I would rather overpay for him than Hamels in my Red Sox franchise.

Maybe something similar to Jose Fernandez? Maybe a High, Mid, and Low A?
