I rather keep him if I can. He's played well for me.

I think they want a top 100 and a mid prospect. I don't think teams value him like WAR does so I can't wait to see.

I think TB would be intrigued but wouldn't accept. Anderson is a nice piece and he will likely be a everyday regular but Hawkins is a complete wild card (Fangraphs has done a nice pair of articles on him). In 2013, Hawkins had a lot of trouble with his swing but ultimately reworked it and got better results. In 2014 however, Hawkins struggled significantly with pitch recognition; so much that he was pretty much guessing on every pitch. You can get away with that in the lower minors where the pitchers aren't the smartest and their stuff isn't the best. But as he moves up the ranks and faces better pitching, this issue is going to become more pronounced. Despite his grades from MLB.com, he is not a plus runner and he is not a plus defender. His value is tied up completely in his bat. He's really toolsy and Tampa hasn't really done well with toolsy players lately. For me, Hawkins is a cross between a sure prospect and a lottery ticket because he has legit tools but the chances he refines them are slim.

That being said, I think Zobrist is a unique situation similar to Jason Heyward. I believe that Tampa will probably get a package similar to what the Braves got for Heyward who's facing the same situation.

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

In Year 2 of a Yankees Franchise and its time for me to move on from Teixera. Is there any realistic deals I could do to dump his salary and maybe get an asset back?

If you're planning to carry over this franchise when 15' hits. I would see if I could Braves 1B Freeman or Goldschimdt from D-backs. Both of those first basemen video game contracts are trade able. Plus I think you could do a 2 or 3 player for Tex...

I have to disagree since he is looking for realism here. If Cashman could have dumped his salary AND actually gotten an asset back, he would have done so by now!

Freeman and Goldy aren't going anywhere, unless John Hart is even dumber than he's proven to be.

Agree and Goldy, but for the right offer Freeman is more than available.

                            Sources? Don't really believe that.

I mean, do you have sources that say they wont? They moved Heyward and Upton. Both of which were young strong pieces. Nothing indicates that they wouldn't move Freeman for the right deal.

The burden of proof is on you. Do you have sources that say the Angels won't trade Trout? No, it's generally accepted. I strongly doubt the Braves would trade the ~25 year old ~140 wRC+ 1B that they just locked up to a mega deal.
