I'm very new to the game. Is there a training mode? I didn't see a practice option.
Also how can I change the controls from beginner setting that I accidentally selected the first time it loaded.Comment

1. Yes the trade and position change features are still around and they actually seem to work this time. Before I upgraded to the ps4 version today, I had started a Catcher in the Pirates organization. I got called up to AAA after only a month of dominating in AA and played well in AAA too. However Russel Martin was having an All-star season in the majors and Tony Sanchez was hitting .353 in AAA. Since the Bucs are weak at 1st, I figured that a position switch to would be the best way to get to the majors and ensure the best lineup once I got there, so I requested and as granted a position switch on my first try and was called up to the Majors two weeks later and by early June I was an 18yo starting 1st baseman at the MLB level. Now I'm guessing if your trying to switch from a weak position to a strong position, the results would be far less effective.
2. The going back to school feature awards you some training points and lets you repeat the showcase. If you chose to do this feature I would recommend just going JUCO for 1 year. In my first showcase attempt I was drafted by the Brewers (whom I hate) in the 1st with B potential. I decided to go JUCO for 1yr was awarded 150 training points and by the 2nd showcase game I already had A potential and eventually was drafted 1st overall. I personally don't really recommend this feature as it ages you how ever many years you go to school and the points aren't really there for it, as even if you go to a 4 year school you only get 500 training points and I can get that in 5 good games. In my opinion if you under perform or go to a team you don't want to play for, you'd be better off restarting the showcase than choosing school.

Made a 3rd baseman. Didnt get a hit in the showcase and entered the draft and got picked third to the White Sox. I think I had a B in potential.
Is anyone else put a beard on your player then when you get in the game its gone? Havent been able to rock a beard yet. Not sure if Im doing something wrong or if this is a glitch. ANyone else?Comment

Made a RF who is very similar to CarGo even though I didn't model my guy after him. Went something like 2 for 10 in showcase and got drafted by the DBacks in the 4th round with a C potential, so I went to juco for a year and the second time around went 6 for 10 with 2 doubles and 2 triples. I got a B potential I went in the end of 2nd round this time but sadly I got picked by the one and only team I would not want to play for.......the Dodgers
but I signed because I didn't want to waste another year because it's obvious you will gain waaaay more experience points in the minors than doing another year of college and a B potential is good enough for me. Now I'm looking to be traded but sadly through the first two weeks I'm only hitting .143 no homers yet. I think the timing being different from last year is really throwing me off for one.

Decent showing in the showcase. Rnd 2 to the Angel's with C potential.
Decided to go to JuCO. Killed it. 1st Round pick to Houston A potential. 30 Games in having a great time and boom torn achilles on a triple out for the season.

Got the game a few days ago, been playing as a second baseman, having fun so far. Got injured and missed 15 games, and I immediately turned down the injury slider because that's ridiculous being I was just beginning my AA season.
Doing well in AAA right now, batting above .350 with 8 HR, got picked up to the majors only to get dropped back to AAA after only hitting 2 hits in 4 games lol.
I really hate the fact you have to grind to get any kind of progress on your player. I've been playing for four days now, and my guy is only 74 overall. I average anywhere from just 50 to 120 training points MAX every game. Even on a multiple HR game it's minuscule.

The hardest decision I ever have is what 3 pitches to begin my SP with. I'm kind of partial to a funky sidearmer, maybe Eckersely delivery.
