Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
My Power & contact vs RH's are all in the 70's with lefties being in the
60's. The problem I am having is making solid contact. My plate vision is in the
80's so my PCI is huge...I just suck lol. It seems that I pop up quite a bit or
hit a ball out to the warning track...any suggestions? I have seen a couple
hitting strategy posts on the board, and have looked them over.
What I
currently do is begin the PCI up in the zone, and then react to a low strike
pitch but it seems that my thumb pushes to far down it turns into a pop up as my
PCI ends up to far down in the zone. This has always been a problem for me
lol.
My other question is when I view the pitcher breakdown and all that
by pressing the select button and want to look at the current pitcher, it
doesn't appear all his pitches show up on the graph even though everything is
selected to all. For instance if I want to look at first pitches for him for the
entire time, it only shows 3 or 4 pitches even though we may be in the 5th
inning and he's faced 20 batters. Is this a glitch or am I an idiot?
Also,
I am now in April 2016 after tearing something in my finger in August of 2015. I ended up hitting 18 HR's with 42 RBI in 222 at bats, but hit only .204 which is awful. I signed a 1 year AAA Bench contract in the offseason and went 4-7 in spring training to earn a bench spot in the majors. I now am in the middle of April but have only 3 ab's which sucks. I don't have the option to ask for a trade yet though for some reason?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I'm guessing it depends on your potential and the organization. In previous years and on the ps3 version this year, I usually pitched at least 1 full season in the minors before getting called up or maybe got a September call up the first year. However, I just got called to the majors in may of my first season with my SP in the twins organization. I mean I dominated in AA and the Twins best starter is 75 overall, but I was very surprised to not even make 1 appearance in AAA and I was only 72 overall at the time of my call up.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Started a RTTS as a centerfielder and did well enough in the showcase to get drafted by the Chicago White Sox third overall (A potential).
Played 32 games in AA before being called up to AAA.
.363 BA 10 HR 28 RBI 8 SB
Was called up to AAA in mid to late May and before the all star break the White Sox traded me to the Atlanta Braves for SP Alex Wood. I was happy to move to the Braves as they are were currently the better team and look like they will have a brighter future as well. I changed my position to right field as Jason Heyward is their starter in center and I don't want to take his position (when I get called up). Anyway, I played the rest of the season in AAA and got called up to the majors when they expanded to the 40 man roster.
.352 BA 21 HR 90 RBI 24 SB (made all star team as starter)
I started in the month of September for the Braves but didn't do to well, only batted .205 and didn't make the playoff roster.
.205 BA 3 HR 7 RBI 1 SB
I started in the majors on the bench for the 2015 season and in early May they named me the starting right fielder. I am really enjoying this RTTS as I usually only play franchise mode.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Spring training 2017 wasn't the best ever.. As I improve my batting ratings it seems like I'm getting worse, not hitting anything deep and really only getting singles that sneak outta the infield. Not getting much to hit (which became a theme as 2016 progressed), and when they do leave something over the plate I just pop it up no matter the timing.. Plus I got moved down from 4 to 5 in the order which I don't like, I liked batting behind Stanton.
So yea hitting is becoming increasingly annoying but at least fielding is going wellFavorite Teams:

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
After a rough start to 2017 the year has turned around, about 60 games in and the average has rocketed up to .352 (2nd in NL), 12 HR and 28 RBI's. The Marlins are just over .500 and 4 games off of WashingtonFavorite Teams:

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
New to The Show this year. I've got a starting pitcher right now. Flamethrower, high k rate. Pitches are 4SFB, change up, and 12-6 curve. I just noticed that a lot of skills are regressing. Is this just part of it or am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to fix or prevent it?

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
So on the year I'm hitting .392 now, with 19 HR and 45 RBI. Playing Washington I am 3/3 with a single, RBI Double and a Solo Shot. Down 4-3 in the 8th they pinch hit for me?!? WTF! I'm 2nd on this team in HR's and RBI (to Giancarlo) and by far best avg. makes no senseFavorite Teams:

Just curious if strikes to the left and upper left are almost always called balls or if it changes as your skills improve.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I'm finishing out my 2016 season and I have a real shot at the Triple Crown. I'm leading in NL in average (.340) and RBI (118), and trail Goldschmidt in HR by two (I have 40) with about 2 and a half weeks left in the season. I've had a high average and RBI numbers most of the season, but I just hit a 10 game span where I nailed 7 homeruns to get me in the race. But as for the MLB, Miggy is killing us all.

The Diamondbacks just bought out my AAA contract, so I'm part of the 40 man MLB roster! I'm about to make my MLB debut! I'm so excited, wow! I'm starting the August 22, 2015 game against the Atlanta Braves.Last edited by Gronk4M13; 07-14-2014, 06:17 AM.Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
From my experience so far (22 games) every ump calls pitches in the upper left and mid-left of the strike zone balls.
