This game is pissing me off. It seems every year I start out red hot until a couple of weeks before the all star break. From that point on I can't hit consistently to save my life. Three years straight now I went from hitting over .350 up until that point to my average dropping to under .270 by the end of the year.

I'm the exact opposite from the last two posts! I struggle to start the season it seems, then I get hot mid season. Interesting....Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Finished my rookie season with the Twins. I really struggled adjusting to the big league level. I was handed the starting job in June and had lost it by August. We finished with a 61-101 record for the year. I ended up hitting .212 with 7 HR and 34 RBI.
I saved a bunch of training points for the end of the season so I could simulate showing up to Spring Training in the ‘best shape of my life.’ I grew out my beard and did well enough in the Spring to take back the starting job.
My second season was a breakout year by my standards. I hit 19 HR before the All-Star break and was selected to my first All-Star game. I only hit 6 HR in the second half.
Entering the final game of the season, I was hitting .299. A 1-4 game would seal my fate as a sub-.300 hitter. My greatest accomplishment was my .373 OBP. I started seeing the ball very well in the second half and was able to ramp up my walk totals. We improved our record to 67-95. I played every game of the season.
I find it strange that Byron Buxton has not progressed a single point after two full seasons (neither have any of our prospects). At least we finally called him up to start the year. My potential has changed in the sequence C-D-C-D-C. Weird. Through the first few weeks of my third major league season, we are over .500 which has never happened.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
ok I wanna start a new RTS using Mizzou's Roster OSFM V1 with the Cubs and I wanna play 2nd base also I want all our prospects to stay on the team hopefully what positions should I move Baez and Addison to so we all wont be blocking each other.
I was thinking of moving Baez to LF my dude would become the Cubs 2B and Addison will prolly get traded for SP or something like that?
What do u think or should I move Baez to 3B Bryant to RF and Soler to LF?
or Move Baez to LF, and move Addison to CF then Almora or Alcantra would be the guys to get traded and I could play 2B
eventually I would want the Cubs lineup to look something like this but idk what positions everyone would play
1B Rizzo
2B My RTS Person
Bryant
C Kyle Schwarber
SS Castro
Baez
Russell/Alcantra/Almora
Soler
SP
what should I do? who should play what position oooo what a dilemma for my Cubs. PLEASE HELPOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Man that is a lot of quality prospects..
Unfortunately, none of the prospects are progressing in my RTTS and I'm a few years down the road. I wouldn't be too concerned about nailing down positions because none of them will likely get much better and may not even make the majors. You could try Bryant and Baez at 3B to increase the likelihood that one of them makes it. Assuming Castro sticks, you could also try moving Russell to 3B and Bryant to RF in order to further maximize the chances of someone making it. Hopefully my experience with broken prospect progression is an isolated incident but I've been hearing more about it lately.
I was hoping to play with an offensive core of myself, Buxton and Sano but it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
well in my previous one with the Cubs before the Addison Russell trade by year 2 Bryant was a everyday starter and rookie of the year, Baez got traded 1st year, Soler came up 2nd year every day starter by 3rd year same thing for Almora , Alcantra was still playing 2B and behind my dude so everyone on my team progressed real well. even though after winnng ROY and being top 5 in HRs by year 4 Bryant was only ranked a 76ovr
If I was you I would go download Mizzous roster from the Vault everyone is rated a lil higher overall for more realistic sim stats and its worth it.
But what I did for my new one is I made a LF and I accidentaly added some people to the 40 man which guarantees they will get called up sooner than later. Kyle Schwarber is on the bench for C because I added him to the 40 man I wish I wouldn't of tho because now he will never progress but whatever.
But with Mizzous roster Bryant is starting 3B after I boosted his overall up a little more to make him Cubs best option and added him to 40 man, Baez starting 2B, Alcantra starting CF, Soler on the 40 man but in AA so is Almora, Addison on 40 but in AAA, and Ima LF top 3 pick taken 5th by Cubs.Only thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
does anyone else do this I always pick the Cubs as the team I go to usually in the early rounds and I always redo the draft over and over until I like the other prospects they drafted before/after me.
For example if im drafted in the 2nd round I continue to redo the draft over and over until the Cubs draft a SP I like in the 1st lol its cheating I know but sometimes they need help with there decision makingOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
We (Brewers) started off really well, but now we're in a huge slump. Sitting at the bottom of the conference, and things doesn't seem to be on it's way up for us. Our pitching is putrid, and we aren't hitting good as well.
We're currently 21-36.
I can't seem to hit anymore. I can barely get on base right now.Comment

Had two HRs against the Cubs. One of my best games as a pro. Also batted in 5RBIs.Comment

It is good to know that other people have seen prospect progression. I am using the OSFM Opening Day set. I didn’t think it was a roster issue because I use the exact same roster in franchise and all of the prospects who aren’t progressing in RTTS are progressing fine in franchise. I assumed it was an issue with the game mode but maybe not.
If I hadn’t already played a few years, I would probably restart with Mizzou’s. I don’t think I could go back to playing in those boring, empty minor league stadiums again, haha.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I've read from some OS'ers that your saved RTTS in 2014 could be played in the upcoming MLB TS 2015? If so, where does it state that (article)? Because this is a good news to me.
Yearly, i try to sim after 2-3 seasons so I just could see what my player could develop into (NBA and NHL). If we could continue it in the following series then I could slowly play this game without simming. I guess Im only the few who really like to play the Franchise, RTTS (BAP, MyCareer modes) without simming.Comment

It is listed as the 3rd bullet point under key features
This is why I have chosen to play every game of my RTTS career. You never know how well this idea will be implemented on the first try but SCEA always seems to deliver.Comment
