Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I decided to make a LF for the Chicago Cubs using Mizzous roster set. I kept everyone at their Real Life counter parts current positions as far as other Cubs Prospects go. I unintentionally added C Kyle Schwarber to the Cubs 40 man so he is on the bench in the Majors. Also signed SP Kenta Maeda to the Cubs Roster. Also boosted Kris Bryant overall so he would be the starter at 3B, those are the only changes I made to the roster
Jerry Finger-22 year old LF drafted 1st round Pick 5 by the Cubs.
I saved it and redid the draft to see where I would go if I didn't pick my team and I went 3rd overall.
Double AA
Through 47 games I had 190 ABs, .379avg, 72Hits, 23Runs, 7HRs, 28Rbi, 11SBs, 6BBs, and 10Errors.
On 5/30/14 the Cubs purchased my contract and I had my first MLB game against the Milwaukee Brewers
MLB
" Its very exciting to get called straight from AA ball to the Show, I am a little nervous that the jump in competition may be too much for me to handle but if the Theo and company feel im ready than I trust them and will do my best to prove them right."
That's what the young superstar LF in training had to say before his first Major league game where he would have 2 hits and a walk in the Cubs 7-4 win over the Brewers.
Through 15 games I have 53ABs, .377avg, 20Hits, 7Runs, 1HRs, 8Rbi, 1SB, 3BB, 1Error.
LF is so hard to play compared to what im use to 2B. I robbed someone of a game winning HR for the first time and it was the best feeling ever. Cubs currently lead the Central Division 42-30 . Our MLB roster is as follows.
SP Jake Arrieta 5-1 102SO 2.86ERA in 15Games
Kenta Maeda 7-4 76SO 2.86ERA in 15Games
Kyle Hendricks 4-5 44SO 6.22ERA in 14Games
Travis Wood 6-4 78SO 3.15ERA in 14Games
Edwin Jackson 6-3 74SO 4.55ERA in 14Games
Starters Lineup
CF Arismendy Alcantra 74Hits 11HRs 27RBI .227avg
RF Justin Ruggiano 75Hits 11HRs 35RBI .253avg
1B Anthony Rizzo 80Hits 17HRs 40RBI .271avg
3B Kris Bryant 73Hits 18HRs 46RBI .287avg
SS Starlin Castro 91Hits 18HRs 55RBI .314avg
2B Javier Baez 59Hits 15HRs 27RBI .244avg
C Wellington Castillo 48Hits 7HRs 23RBI .236avg
LF Jerry Finger 20Hits 1HR 8RBI .377avg
Bench: C Kyle Schwarber 37Hits 4HRs 15RBI .247avg
3B Luis Valbuena 48Hits 6HRs 10RBI .320avg
As you can see we are stacked with HR hitters and are pretty much good at every position RF Jorge Soler should get called up any day now hopefully as he is killing in double A even though for some reason he got moved to the bench after I got called up. love this team and cant wait will keep u updated with how the team does and my LF does.
Next Game Pittsburgh 33-39 (Volquez 5-8) vs Cubs WoodOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
First baseman Darren Daulton has received his call to The Show with the San Francisco Giants. After tearing up Double-A for the first month and a half of 2014 the Giants purchased his contract and called him right up to the big leagues. I didn't think that would happen without some Triple-A baseball under his belt. Brandon Belt was optioned to Double-A to make room for Daulton.
Darren Daulton made his Major League debut in the second game of the series in Colorado against the Rockies going 1-3 with an RBI. His first Major League hit came off of pitcher Rob Scahill.
In the series finale, Daulton received player of the game honors going 2-5 with a run scored, 1 double, 1 home run, and 3 RBI.
Daulton hit his first Major League home run off of Juan Nicasio.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Finished up the 2015 season with the Brewers. It's been a disappointing 2015 because we didn't make the post-season. We need much better pitching, and I hope we can sign some decent pitchers in the off-season.
I finished the season with .310/90RBI/27HR. I also won the batting title!
We'll see what them offers looking like in the off season.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Its my first time on any forum for mlb the show. Ive seen some player creations on youtube and the players that were created could have huge hair growth, but with my game I couldnt create a player that has large hair and beard growth. Is there a way to change that? Or is my game just different?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
This game frustrates me sometimes (I really do love it). I'm on a 24 game hit streak and chasing a triple crown and they sit my guy even though I have 99 durability. So then they bring me into the game as a pitch hitter meaning I only have one at bat to try to extend my hit streak. I hit a line drive and the outfielder dives and catches what would've been an easy double. Hit streak over.Comment

I always simulate my pinch hits because I don't feel like waiting for it to load just for 1 AB, and I usually always make the hit since my Clutch is up high which I think is important for pinch hitsOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Okay I am 24 in 2020. I am 1B. I played double A and triple A in 2014, played triple A and MLB in 2015 where I batted .333 in the majors. I was in triple A 2016-2019 and double A in 2020. I simulated 2014-2017 except the MLB. 2018-2020 I played the entire seasons. My potential has been A and my status has been "Top Prospect" the entire time. My overall is 72 but my contact is 82 and power is 79 and my adjusted overall is 93. In 2018-19 I was triple A bench until I started at the end of the season. I batted .353 in 2018, .373 in 2019, and .441 in 2020 with 49 hrs and lead the league in hits, doubles, triples, rbi's, hr's, avg, ops, and slugging. I have had at least 10 hr's every season. In the 2019 playoffs I won world series player of the game and lead the playoffs in hr's, triples, doubles, hits, and rbi's. Every time I had asked for more playing time (2018-19) they say the guy above me is on a hot streak, but he has the cold emblem next to his name and is batting below .220 with the downward red arrow on player comparison and has the same amount of hr's and barely more rbi's (and way more AB's). I have a better overall and adjusted overall then anyone in my organization.
PLEASE HELP ME! ANY ADVICE?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
prolly because your overall is a lot lower than the guy in front of you or maybe due to the fact that you simulate a lot of games idk tho.Only thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Wow, got an unexpected early call up to Triple-A Buffalo near the end of May. My overall is around 70 and I was dominating at Double-A New Hampshire. Hope to make it to the Jays soon!Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Just got called up to the Majors on June 18th! All Star difficulty, no bonuses or anything from Game Stop.
Question is, I wanted to watch the ENTIRE game when I got called up, including teammate at bats and all defensive plays, even ones not involving me.
Is this possible?@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Finished my rookie season with the Twins. I really struggled adjusting to the big league level. I was handed the starting job in June and had lost it by August. We finished with a 61-101 record for the year. I ended up hitting .212 with 7 HR and 34 RBI.
I saved a bunch of training points for the end of the season so I could simulate showing up to Spring Training in the ‘best shape of my life.’ I grew out my beard and did well enough in the Spring to take back the starting job.
My second season was a breakout year by my standards. I hit 19 HR before the All-Star break and was selected to my first All-Star game. I only hit 6 HR in the second half.
Entering the final game of the season, I was hitting .299. A 1-4 game would seal my fate as a sub-.300 hitter. My greatest accomplishment was my .373 OBP. I started seeing the ball very well in the second half and was able to ramp up my walk totals. We improved our record to 67-95. I played every game of the season.
I find it strange that Byron Buxton has not progressed a single point after two full seasons (neither have any of our prospects). At least we finally called him up to start the year. My potential has changed in the sequence C-D-C-D-C. Weird. Through the first few weeks of my third major league season, we are over .500 which has never happened.
Like you I'm on the Twins in my rookie season and struggling to adjust to the majors. After spending the first 2 months on the bench I've been the starter and in late August 2015 I'm batting .240 with 3 HRs and 20 RBIs as a power hitting LF. I'm super frustrated with my lack of production, but hopefully I can be like you and have a breakout season next year.Cubs | Colts | Pacers | Blackhawks | Fire | HoosiersComment
