Preloading the show?

I keep reading that people might be getting it by Friday by preloading or something of that sort? is this by digital purchase? im a noob so excuse the question

Yep it appears that way. I've heard they will put it up within 4 days of release for you to download and preload.

Yeah, the PS4 had a firmware update today that allows you to pre download/install digitally pre ordered games. BUT, it seems we can't do that quite YET. Maybe something in the code that says it's not functional until like 3-4 days before launch or something. But FIRST you have to install today's system software update for your PS4. (That being said, once it's able to do that, you'll be sure to find the news all over these here boards.)

The PS update 1.70 allows to digitally pre-ordered games to be downloaded prior to the street release date. At 12:01am, the game will be unlocked so you'll be able to play immediately, rather than waiting for the game to download and install.

The 1.70 update came today, however, The Show is not yet available to be pre-downloaded. They are hoping that it is the case over the weekend, however, none of this has been confirmed. People are just speculating. You will not be able to play the digital version prior to May 6.

IF in fact The Show is one of the games that have pre-loading capabilities, you will be able to DOWLOAD the game in advance, but not PLAY it.


By having it downloaded in advance, you would be able to play it as soon as the clock strikes midnight on May 6th.

I went ahead and preordered MLB 14 the Show. I preordered using my PC and before I went to checkout it said that I can start the download anytime after 12am ET on May 6th. When I completed my purchase, there is an option to download to ps4. Did anyone else get this option when they preordered before the update?

No. I preordered back in the beginning of the month when the pre order first went live. I will be trying periodically throughout the next 48 hours or so to see, i will post once it's active.

OK. I went ahead and hit the "Download to PS4" button but get an error saying that it couldn't Queue up for download.

If it actually manages to start up at some point, let us know! You should be able to see a progress bar on the PS4's home screen if it's downloading.

Yeah..once i left the screen, its not there anymore. Cant figure out how to get back there. I think once it becomes available to download, it will show up in your download list and from there you should be able to download to you ps4. Not sure though.

Ive always just purchased digital games the day of release using my PS APP on my phone and just hit the download to my ps4 button and the game would start to download. Ive never preordered digitally but decided to do so time in hopes that we would be able to preload the game.
