Now I'm not even close to being a game designer or any kind of artist, but in some ways it seems other developers have a better handle on the ps4 more than SDS did or does at this point. Again I could be completely wrong on that. Anyway it's still a great game and I am thankful to have a good baseball game to play when the mood strikes!!

    What is unprofessional about it?

I work for a very large bank. Quarterly we make updates to our online site but don't release "patch notes" and we let our customers experience the changes on their own.

Those that notice them love it and those that don't notice them know nothing about it but either way it has no ill effect on our customers that we don't notify them of the changes we make no matter if they are minor changes or major changes.

Again, if it's something you benefit from, you will notice it, if not, you won't. Still not sure what the difference is if you don't get patch notes.

Edit: And furthermore, to say a company that is trying to improve a product you've ALREADY BOUGHT without providing specifics as unprofessional is just downright silly.

I agree, it's definitely NOT unprofessional. You already bought their product, you gave them their money, they owe you absolutely nothing. I'm sorry (not really), but the sense of entitlement most gamers feel nowadays is completely and utterly unfounded.

I agree for the most part, I would just say that it's not JUST because of the fact that we've already bought their game.

To me it's just the fact that if they are making and effort to improve that product, there is no reason they have to provide us with things they adjusted or fixed. The entitlement with that regard doesn't even make sense to me.

I'd like to know simply because before I put my time and effort into restarting up my failed online franchise due to all the issues, if those same issues just happened to be corrected. Not interested in getting 29 guys together again just to realize the same problems still exist.

I haven't negated the fact that there are scenarios that would make it necessary to know the changes such as yours (and I really do understand and appreciate it).

My only point is that it is anything but unprofessional to not point them out.

All signs based on the version number and impressions point to them being very minor changes so it's not likely to have fixed anything major.

It's a two way street. This "sense of entitlement" as you call it is a direct result of game companies releasing unfinished products and just figuring they'll patch it. Unless SDS meant to release the game with broken night time lighting, graphical glitches like the all black players/dirt and a mediocre at best online franchise, then the game isn't finished. We paid for a finished product. We're don't have a sense of entitlement, we just want what we paid for.

Sorry, just saw your Angels logo. Maybe you're not familiar with getting what you paid for.

                        Re: A Patch?

Ive been playing sports games for almost 30 years. You should be glad they can patch things now. Back in the day if things were busted you were screwed till hopefully the next year and not always even then. Games have always had and always will have issues when released. Just going by SCEAs track record its safe to say they didnt intentionally release what you feel is an incomplete product and I have no doubt they are busy trying to fix the things that arent working.

I wouldve liked patch notes but like khelis said either you notice changes or you dont. If its still broken than its still broken.

I disagree with this statement. If you make changes, just list them. We don't have to like them or agree with them, but certainly would like to know what changed especially because they include sliders in the game. Many gamers try to customize things with these sliders, and spend a lot of time trying to fine tune the game.

Additionally, with a sport like baseball where its not uncommon to see a 10-0 ball game or have an Ace pitcher rocked, it virtually impossible to get a sample size large enough to see if every combination of sliders is working like intended.

In addition, it only benefits them to get community feedback as long as its constructive, let us know what was changed and we can focus on it and give them proper feedback.

Everyone should be on the same team here, just get the best game possible and they can gladly have my money, not just this year, but years to come. For me, not seeing a changelog, just adds frustration. More frustration than what they decide to fix or not to fix.

If EA sports said, yeah we fixed some stuff, you just have to figure it out. would you take their word for it?

It's just common practice to release notes. I wouldn't say it's something to get super worked up about, but it is at least good PR to tell your customers which of their favorite bugs you've obliterated. That is, instead of forcing them to world-hop in-game and discover nothing's changed, which will make them angry.
