I'm curious what it is about the current game which makes you want to wait.

yea you're not kidding. kinda sucks for MOM players when theres no cat and mouse game between pitcher and baserunner. no lead cpu never throws over to first. therefore i cant throw over without it being cheating. just let them run whenever. i can pitch out but thats about it. they really need to fix this part of the game. with steroids out of the game manufacturing runs becomes more important than ever and that means holding runners and stealing bases. how about the option for the catcher to throw to 1st to try and catch the runner leading off 1st base. these are issues for MOM only.

generally I'd tell you to look through the bug report section on the show nation but i was wondering abt this actually. does it make sense to wait with the franchise? are there real issues that could be fixed in a patch and that wouldn't affect an already started franchise?

            Very disappointed
I thought this was a small oversight that could easily be fixed in a patch.
Impossible to check it now, I refuse to go back playing with the pitch selection screen turned ON after begging year after year for the ability to turn it off.

I think you can go ahead and start a franchise. When SCEA puts out patches they usually never require you to restart a franchise. Only time I remember having to restart a franchise was a few years back when they had the career stats bug.

As for the 1st career home run overlay in Franchise mode. It only happens with the team you are playing against, and never for the user(Unless it is a players actual 1st career homer) and it doesn't affect a players career stats. It's just an annoying bug for some.

There is also another overlay glitch when a player hits his 1st double of the season the overlay will say:

              1th Double of the Season.

Again it's minor, but may be annoying for others obviously.

Why don't I remember that bug from MVP '04? The one I remember from 04 is the bug where all your CAPs would lost about 20 pts or more on their attributes each year. MVP '05 is the second best baseball game created, imo.

In the past patches did not require re-starting a franchise. Perhaps there is something in this year's version which will change that but in the past you were safe starting a franchise.

Hopefully no one has to "restart" their franchise after a patch. I was 15 games into my franchise and the "first career home run" kept occurring in my franchise. I got on the forums and someone posted I would unfortunately have to re-start my franchise. I saved the first one, but went through all of the work of "injuring" guys who started out the season on the DL. I forwarded through Spring Training, set the rosters and began a new franchise. I didn't hit my first home run until the 3rd game of the season with Curtis Granderson. But dang it, it still had the same "glitch". Someone posted: As for the 1st career home run overlay in Franchise mode. It's just an annoying bug for some. This isn't true however. I hit a homer with Granderson two games later, and it did the same thing. No a game breaker, but none the less it gets annoying when I hit one with David Wright or another veteran. I could be ok with it if it only did it after the first homer, but randomly popping up again is annoying.
