Re: Quick Counts .... nope
I'm really enjoying the QC option, and I'm glad I have the ability to play w/wo it as I do flip flop back and forth. My biggest gripes are the same as others here (relievers and pinch hitters, etc.)
Can someone please point me to any discussion around the fact that the pitch counts are incorrect? I saw another thread closed regarding this topic, but I cannot seem to find the discussion in another thread. Thanks in advance!MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
I have been playing full games lately. And yes I do prefer them....no question. But I love the fact I can flip on QC's when I know I have only 30 minutes to play and get in a game. And if I want to play a three game series in under 2 hours.
It needs some work going forward. No doubt. But this was a nice start. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
I play QC, find it fun and refreshing.
Nothing wrong playing a full game, but sometimes I enjoy the challenge of coming to bat at 0-2 or 1-2, sharpens up the senses as I know im in a situation... how am I getting out of it.
Same when pitching, nothign worse than seeing a 3-0 count when you are 1 up in the 9th and they have a man on base... but it makes you work and think a bit quicker/sooner than you would have liked.
Plus I like to play seasons, develop my team, see how the AI goes, how prospects fare etc... I know we have year to year saves, but still its nice to get a few in to see what prospects make it etc, as tbh if you dont, then whats the point of OSFM... they are there to be enjoyed long term, as they give you all the prospects and all the potential to have a great long term MLB career.OS Baseball Dynasty ::

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
Quick Counts...YUP!
FWIW:
"Game Saver" for this guy:
Cuts game times to a reasonable length and saves my (middle aged) central nervous system from having to make / take 300+ pitches...
Great first effort, but as others have stated:
1) Less 3 ball and full counts
2) Sac bunt and fly situations should have one strike at the most
3) When pitch hitting or changing pitchers, it would be nice to not have the count that the previous guy was going to deal with visible OR simply generate a fresh count based off the new match up, etc.
That being said:
Just PLEASE don't remove the feature...
I'll take it "as is" before seeing it removed...
As far as the ASB options go:
Kind of intrigued by "Smart Counts", in that it takes hot / cold into account...
Could be ideal in conjunction with a ratings element for both pitcher and hitter...
So SECA is done tweaking QC's for this year, or is there going to be some tweaking to it in a patch?
Either way I love it and I don't think I will ever go back. Hopefully it's an option that stays in the game going forward and we can get some of the minor issues corrected.Comment

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
Love QC, only thing I wish was adjusted is when a reliever is brought in to the game and it generates a two strike count. New pitcher who is throwing different speeds and pitches than that last pitcher makes it difficult to get a fair shot. I'd like to be able to look at at least one pitch to adjust to the new pitchers speed. Sometimes with two strike it puts you at a disadvantage when a reliever comes in and increases the chance for a K.Comment

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
All they need to do is add in 0-0, 1-0, and 0-1 counts and people would be much more likely to embrace the feature. Just make the probability a bell curve where 0-0 & 3-2 counts are a bit more rare than 1-1 counts.
0-0 - 5%
0-2 - 5%
3-2 - 5%
3-0 - 5%
1-0 - 7%
0-1 - 7%
2-2 - 7%
3-1 - 7%
1-2 - 11%
2-1 - 11%
1-1 - 20%

I think it's been pretty well embraced.I don't think they will add the extra counts because the intent of the feature for the Dev team was too substantial quicken the game.I wouldn't mind the extra counts personally either. My only big issues with the feature is the sometimes very random counts...such as the pitcher coming up with 3-0 counts which is rare in real life.I mostly love the feature for the record.Giants

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
I'm in that group that loves the feature. All they would need is to keep quick counts and add in random counts with the above %'s.
The group that doesn't like QC's has a very valid point in saying they want all counts to be represented. I would probably use random over QC's. I'm still gonna use QC's over 0-0 every count and that's a certaintySOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
As much as I love staring 0-0 and controlling the counts, I use QC more. I think the pace is more suited for me, and it also makes thing a little more realistic. (I regularly throw 80-90 pitches in a complete game on default)
Another awesome thing with QC is that it adds pressure. Say, for instance, a 3-0 count is generated. I'd try my best to not walk him.

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
Been messing around with QC's again for the last few days ....... back to full games.
Even if they introduce lower counts I don't think I'll ever use it exclusively. I really don't care about finishing a season or ripping through a game as fast as I can. For me it takes away from the game.

I don't know if there is a comparable thing that could be done in sports games. Right now all I can think of is the accelerated clock in football games which isn't a great comparison.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: Quick Counts .... nope
I LOVE QC'S!!!! And I can't wait to see it improved in the future.
However, I don't use it all the time. If I have time to kill, I turn it off. If I'm trying to squeeze a quick game or two in my franchise, I turn it back on. I just love that I have that option.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment
