I remember there was a game that did that (NHL 0-something, I think) and the ads were for things that you couldn't even read.

The thing is, we already pay $59.99+ for the game, and advertising is still everywhere in it. Do we really want the team to go all out for something that really doesn't add anything? It's to the point where I now go to the Ballpark and see everything sponsored by a company. It's really too much IRL; it shouldn't be that way in game.

Im pretty sure MLb the show has some deal with MLB.com to use the stadiums for the back drop of some app dont they? Probably why the use their own name for ads and dropped the fake ones in the first place.

True story - only time I noticed it was when I hit a home run off a MLB:TS sign in '13.

I was like - oh, he hit the MLB:TS sign!

Until then (and after) it really never caught my attention except at Enr...Minute Maid Field because of that HR lol

It's nowhere as big of an issue as the pepsi-gate in Tropicana field in MLB 2K a couple of years ago 😄

Fine they dont want to change the ridiculous self promotion garbage then at least fix the advertisements changing in the middle of my wind up ffs. I have never seen an ad change in the middle of an at bat in real life, its annoying and does nothing for the game.

I'd rather have them have a contest where fans of The Show can create their own fake funny ads for fake dumb products.

The best get put in the game and they get free Stubs or something.

Fake ads that are funny are better than real ads that are not funny any day of the week.

Then absolutely ZERO dev hours are being used (so nobody can say "they need to fix ____ first") and they get free labor.

LOL. That really puts into perspective how silly it is to see The Show plastered 78 times around any given stadium

Re: Less MLB The Show adverts in stadiums

As stated before the MLB At Bat app and MLB Game Day use the renderings of each stadium from The Show, so it really is nothing like the example of "The Last of Us" at all.

The ads in the stadium help advertise the game for a company in other areas outside of the game, as well as the kiosk approach they had in best buy.

It probably even helps facilitate a better relationship with MLB or even generate revenue for a smaller studio that pumps out a top notch product every year and allows us to keep getting that high quality product.

Serious comment/question. Why not just take the initiative and create an unofficial/official MLB the Show Fictitious Advertisements & Banners Wishlist thread here in this forum. If I had time, I'd do some and they can do whatever they want with them without compensation.

Today's game is brought to you by Chork! Not quite chicken, not quite pork, it's Chork, the taste nature forgot.

The 7th-inning stretch is brought to you by The House of Saws, conveniently located next door to the House of Planks, and by Lobster Cola, the crustacean cola that tickles your nose!
