Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
New Zone + Analog is basically just Zone Hitting now. I don't really see the need for two hitting options that are so similar. Both aim with the left stick and use one quick input to swing.
With Striding they were different enough, now they are far too similarLast edited by Stolm; 02-16-2015, 04:52 PM.Comment

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
Not necessarily. Revamp is a synonym for redo, revise, or renovate. While the goal is to improve through renovation, whether the end product of a renovation is better than the original is subjective. For examples, see the Star Wars special edition DVDs.Comment

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
I use Zone + Analog because it feels the most realistic and challenging, therefore more immersive and rewarding.
I hope we are not starting to see a shift in The Show of dumbing things down.Last edited by Stolm; 02-16-2015, 04:59 PM.Comment

What I don't like about taking away the stride is that you are taking away user input of which this game already has a lack of.Comment

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
I never had a problem with the stride timing. I had a problem with pushing the stick up and to the left/right to get the PCI on the ball. I never found the stride to be that difficult to time once you learned how to do it after a few tries.
Pushing just up makes things way too easy IMO.Comment

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
You are going to be surprised by the outrage of people when the game comes out... Prepare for sub-6 metacritic scores. This is the biggest mistakes you have every made developing this incredible game.
Only a minority of people who are going to buy the game watches the streams or reads these forums. When they find out, trolls are going to come and no matter how great this game going to be otherwise, they are going to cost you money.
A hitting interface is the most important thing in a game like this. I have never ever tried any other hitting interface apart from pure analog in the past 4 years.
I'm going to save this thread for February, 2016 when you announce to re-include Pure Analog again. Just sad...

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?
My first reaction to this was I asbsolutely hate it.
I have been playing The Show since 12, and have only ever used Zone + Analog.(as I felt it was the most realistic.)
But the Stride Timing was never really that great or realistic:
In 12 you always had to stride when the pitch was released, no matter what.
In 13 & 14 it was when they start to bring their arm forward.
Starting your strike earlier or later based on the pitch doesn't seem to matter, it's mostly about that one spot in the delivery, at least it seems that way to me.
Also because I am using 3rd party Analog Grips(because The Show absolutely shredded the stock analog rubber) I tend to have strides not register because I pull back very gently and slow. I can't count how many times I have thought I have pulled back, gone to swing, and bunted.
The only thing I can see this being a problem with is checking your swing. You get a kind of distance to check because of how far back you pull the analog. Without that distance, checking could become quite hard.MLB The Show Hybrid Roster ContributorComment
