Ah, well that is very disappointing then. Thanks for the reply.

Did perfect stride timing give you a PCI boost greater than the rated PCI size of the batter?

Just thinking about competitive players, there is no reason that they would use pure analog. Same goes for zone plus analog unless you got a PCI boost greater than the default PCI that you would get by using zone hitting.

Hopefully their analyzed data doesn't include online competitive games because one would expect the most gimped option not to be used often.

already been answered. See quotes above yours for the reasons why it was removed/changed

You could get a slight contact and power boost or penalty based on your stride. It was reflected visually by the PCI size change.

Yes and it's a real shame that the loyal hardcore fans are somewhat brushed aside on this one. It's not like we are asking for something new, we just love the brilliant mechanic that was already introduced !! Very poor decision imo, and I'm very disappointed that all the comments on here mean nothing in regards to this change, and will not at all impact their design decision.

I would have guessed that such a passionate group would potentially sway their decision

Extremely dissapointed by this. Me and my freinds both used pure analog with the PCI for the challenge. Not to take anything away from players who use timing but pressing the X button to swing is not a good challenge or replication of the game. There was no better feeling in a sports game then timing that stride and PCI right and slamming a walk off HR in my NLDS playoff game. I felt I MYSELF did that. Pressing up on the stick is now no different then pressing X. I used the most difficult hitting because I liked the challenge. And it felt the most natural and sim. I was a 2k player until I bought the ps3 solely for the show. Only thing I didn't like was the X BUTTON hitting. They changed it I fell in love. Now I'm forced to go to a "simplified" approach. Don't want that. I want to feel like I myself with my own skill cranked that game winning HR. I won't feel that anymore.

Another thing. If I hear the words next year "we took online franchise out. Not alot of people use it". I will be so extremely livid. Not a great alot of people will use it. But me and my freind waited years for it and got 8 seasons done. That mode sure as hell better not be taken out.

It's kind of funny that in the old pure analog system simply pushing up on the right stick was relegated to bunting. But now it's basically the whole enchilada...

MLB The Show's new revamped analog hitting! Feel all the excitement of bunting now in every swing!!!

SCEA, you guys can feel free to use that as copy while advertising the game. I won't mind, I promise.

Re: Analog hitting changed or not?

All right, I've just tried Timing hitting in 14, and my timing was all messed up. Late for everything. Poor Jordan Danks threw me a no hitter.mms timing is so dependant on the striding mechanism, that I cannot hit this way. Before I said, that I was going to buy the game no matter what, but now I'm not sure.

If they don't bring back Pure Analog, it's a goodbye for me. Sorry SCEA, this was your biggest mistake you have ever made... #justsad

Its still called the same thing but it doesn't function like it used to. You can tell because Kirby was using it and he didn't have to time his stride. It was simply button press functionality on the stick.

I really think that it is some menu cleanup that has to occur. Ramone already stated that they were staying the course on the change. Plus when we were there the stride slider was already removed from the slider section.

Sorry, youre right. Re-watched the part youre referring to. Maybe a menu item that hasn't been removed? I don't think Russell would come in here to tell us its not in the game just to say "surprise! Just wanted to toy with your emotions" lol.

I'm hoping for its re-intro into next year's game but at this point I've resigned myself to the fact I'll be using buttons. Its still going to be an amazing game. As a baseball nut, I couldn't imagine not playing it even if I was forced to use Timing for Hitting and Classic Pitching *shudder*.

Its really odd, I am amazing with analogue shooting with hockey but cant skate a lick so I suck in real life at hockey. I can set course records and world records in golf but in real life I have a slice that always gets me when I go out for a round in the summer. I can bat .400 in MLB the show with analog but I never made it as a pro ball player so how realistic is analogue controls in sports games. Sure its an option and people like it, some dont, but its sooooooo far from anything realistic to any actual sport movement its not even funny.

I hope fans of the analogue find a happy spot or get their happy spot back but as a fan of the old guess pitch, you may not get your wish.

However they did change RTTS back to have commentary after the year they removed it, which made me play the game again
