    MLB: 14 Save transfer question.

Does your 2014 the show saved file have to be progressed past the first season in order to transfer? For example, if I start up 14 today and only get through 2 months of play in franchise, will I be able to transfer that file to MLB 15? even if that saves year will be 2014?

Yes. It'll just pick up where you left off even if you're still in 2014 on your schedule.

Didn't want to create a whole new thread but I had a question about this, too. Moving forward, will the saves need to be transferred in from the previous year's game? I love baseball but I don't get through franchise seasons all that fast. If I decide to stick with 15 for a couple years, will I be able to bring those saves into 17, for example? Or will they need to come from 16?

You can't skip years it only works if the save files are concurrent.

Thanks for this tidbit. I know some people like to skip a year between releases to see a larger impact of the new additions to the game. So that's good to know not to expect to be able to continue from MLB 14 to MLB 16.

Why couldn't they upload to cloud if they wanted to transfer from 14 to 16? Doesn't this work the same if you are transferring from ps3 mlb 14 to ps4 mlb 15?

I may be wrong but if anything rent or borrow 15 to transfer it for 16 if you plan on not buying 15.

That might be the solution for those that skip years.

I concur. Other than a good meal, it's the best 65$ I spend all year.

Thanks for the response, Russell. Will there need to be any action performed in the franchise for it to work? For example, I play 15, skip 16, and want to get 17...will it be enough to just transfer my file from 15 to 16 before getting 17? Or will I need to play a game/season or something else for it to transfer into 17? See my note at the end for why this may end up being a moot point...

Yep, this is what I'll likely do if I don't get 16. Definitely buying 15 since I got a PS4 for Christmas and, given all the new games I've gotten for it, couldn't justify buying 14 right away knowing that I was so close to 15 coming out.

I'm starting to go full-sim on my sports games (full seasons, full quarter lengths, etc) so they're all taking a lot longer to get through. I'm loving them more but it'll be hard to justify spending the money when I may have barely gotten a year into my franchises. I love this feature in MLBTS though...seems like a pretty clear message that they intend to provide substantial enough updates to the game to justify yearly purchases. If that's true, I don't know that I can hold out!

If I update my 14 roster and start a franchise now and then use the y2y saves feature all of the real players will have their updated face scans and accessories, but will the created generic players still have generic accessories or will they be switched to licensed gear?

Created generic players will have generic gear. You'll have to change that manually. Players with new scans will update if you use Y2Y saves and they'll have their actual equipment (Licensed).

Will this licensed equipment magically on players in all rosters, or just the official SCEA rosters? The magic of the licensed equipment showing up on a Y2Y RTTS or Franchise will work if those modes were started with custom rosters as well? The only reason I asked is because during one of the streams a dev said something along the lines "if you use one of our rosters."
