I don't get it. They said MoM would be unchanged, but no it has changed and changed for the worse as a number of important features have been removed from the mode.

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I tried to leave notes of those things I also noticed at the CD event (I also remember not being able to bring up the pitch callout.
(I don't have the game yet though.)
I think the MoM gameplay was meant to be "untouched," but every year the user interface (or front-end... is the word that SDS seems to use for this type of thing) gets changed, even just for the sake of bringing in fresh look, and some things get "broken" in the process.
These are unfortunate, but I would encourage people to use the bug reports in hope of at least some of them getting fixed:
OWN THE SHOW Experience faster, deeper and more intense moment-to-moment match action on the field, with a variety of game modes for all you rookie players and returning seasoned vets. Purchase Live out your dreams Step on the diamond while surrounded by corn fields with the addition of MLB® Field of Dreams added to MLB® […]
Never hurt to try.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I was going to raise a bug, but then I noticed the URL you referenced was for the MLB 14 game. So I will wait for Ramone to post a link to the MLB 15 bug reporting site as he said he would.
The graphics, animation and ball physics upgrades of MLB 15 are outstanding. In that regard I give SCEA three thumbs up for a job well done. The game looks and plays great. But do they even test MoM? How could they not notice the base runner HUD windows on 1st and 3rd base have been removed? Or were the HUD windows removed on purpose? Well at least this year isn't as bad as the MoM bug we had last year when the pitchers in the mode only threw strikes.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I'm just guessing, but MoM seems like a glorified version of cpu vs. cpu. Since the base runner HUD windows and pitch speed were removed for cpu vs. cpu, it most likely seeped its way into MoM.
The removal of these elements does give the game more of a broadcast feel, because you don't normally see these things on a real TV broadcast. Maybe that's what they were gunning for. It causes an issue when you play MoM though. I would like to see the things missing returned as well.Comment

I can still play MoM. I don't want to give people the impression that the mode can not be played anymore. But it makes the "Dugout" camera view (my preferred camera view in MoM) difficult to use when there are base runners and as much as I try and even acknowledge the "Pressbox" camera gives you a better view of the field prior to the pitch being thrown, I will always prefer the "Dugout" camera for my MoM games.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
My.... Thanks for your help. I'm hoping it's a bug and they did remove these intentionally. I'll vote once it's reported on the bug report...
Still very small sample size but ball physics are great in 15. New outfield AI will make significant difference creating more doubles IMO. I even saw a 1-6-3 DP turned when CPU bunted straight to my pitcher. I also saw both CPU and my Pitcher slidestep when speedy runner on 1st.
My "eye" test says IF thowing arms are bit over powered but I'm interested to see what Nomo comes up with his lengendary investigation if he choose to do so again this year.
Question about Pitch Speed: I like to set this slider to 10 for aesthetic reasons. I know what it says on the slider description but it truly doesn't effect gameplay/AI logic correct? I thought I read (was it B Ma?) it might effect base stealing logic. My eye test shows balls are coming off the bat "hotter" than previous versions.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Tonight once I get home from work, I am going to fire up my MLB 14 to confirm this, but I am pretty certain that there is a toggle setting I believe in the "General" setting screen where we had the ability to toggle the HUD on and off. I went looking for it last night in the MLB 15 game and I thought I found it, except the switch I saw was already turned on. Either I am confusing my toggle switches between the games or this toggle setting in MLB 15 is not hooked up to anything.
I'll definitely be raising a bug once Ramone posts the URL and I urge all you others who care about these runner windows to do the same. We can still play the game without them, but personally I find them very helpful in my "Dugout" camera view MoM games and I also like them in the CPU vs CPU games.Comment

AHHH HAAA!
I hav the P33 version and I'm missing that also. I don't have a clue of the base runners speed. It's really an irritation!Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I also play MOM. But I can't find how to turn it on. Last years, you could manage a game before the game started…this year I can't find it. After I pick the stadium…I go straight into the game having to actually play the game.
Any help?Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
The baserunner windows are gone....
I don't know if it was intentional or not....could be a bug. It should allow them from your gameplay settings(front end).
You can however see the baserunner speeds by simply hitting the options button(pause menu in game) and it's right there.
So is the wind speed and direction for those in other threads that said it was missing.

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Baserunner windows work fine if you are controlling the players. But that's not all. One of the features I was looking forward with this years game was the defensive quick shifts by pressing the d-pad. Once again there is no problem when you control the players. The feature works fine. But quick shifts do NOT work in MoM. Intentional? or does SCEA just not believe in testing their software? Not quite as bad as last year when the pitchers only threw strikes in MoM, but still something that makes you scratch your head.Comment

I also raised a bug for the Defensive Quick Shifts popup window not working:

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I seem to recall this same issue with the runner windows in a previous year's version of the game, and it had something to do with MOM using the same base as CPU vs. CPU. Whatever the reason, they fixed it with one of the first patches they released that year. Let's hope they do so again.Comment
