Nope up left or right is contact swing and down then up is power swing. No timing. I'm not too happy about it.

So let me get this straight ...

If you just move the stick up or to a side w/o striding you bat for contact. If you stride and then move up it's for power?

Why change this?

That is correct isH. Pulling down actually doesn't influence any sort of stride. Try it out. Pull down early and your player won't move. It's just the mechanic they use now down then up for power.

I felt zone analog was the closest thing to real batting thus making it pretty tuff for most people. Sony San Diego doesn't usually take options away but they did a humdinger on this one IMO.

But no use crying over spilt milk Ill get over it. I've had the game since Friday and the new method could be worse. Im sure it will grow on me more.

So I started my new Franchise at 3am this morning (yay me )

I turned off manage contracts, selected fantasy draft, then backed out to get generated pics. It looks like manager contracts turned back on? The manager goals screen still says contract year 1 of 3 any ideas guys.

That's a little different too - it's still basically the same thing, but it's just displayed over home plate instead of a separate window. Pre-pitch Hold down R2 and press left or right on the d-pad and you'll see the Pitch location and the timing. Plus, if you're playing zone hitting or pitching to the CPU, you'll see where the PCI was aimed.



Not sure about this - I didn't pay close enough attention in my first game. But you could be right.



Pitch speed will pop with the radar gun reading on the score bug, but yeah I'm not seeing any way to display it on demand.



This appears to be gone, replaced by the pitcher's innings pitched and ball/strike count. I saw someone else ask about that but I haven't been able to find it anywhere but the pause menu box score.

So, let me get this straight on the subject of swing/pitch info. In previous versions, we got this info in a separate box that stayed on screen at all times. It gave us pitch location, speed, swing timing and swing location and was effortless. Now, to get SOME of that info, you must pull a trigger and push a directional button? Even doing so only gives you location and swing timing. It doesn't have the speed or the swing location (which explained why you hit pitches where you did in previous versions).

I'd love to know who thought it a good idea to take a terrific feature, dumb it down and make the player perform 2 steps to get it. Good grief.

I noticed in my Franchise that the camera doesn't track foul balls as much...especially foul balls that go into the stands. Balls hit in foul territory seem to get tracked with the camera, but not for in the stands. Anyone else notice this?

Purposely done to keep the presentation moving. I have mixed feelings about it, I would like to see the path of some not all, especially the ones I ripped the hell out of.

I do not have the game yet, I was watching some YouTube videos and saw that both the Yankees 1st and 3rd base coaches are wearing high socks for some reason.....is there anyway to manually change this?

I played two games with rain on and while it poured in cut scenes and fly balls in the sky there was none visibly coming down when I hit or pitched at ground level ?

I had this problem on the ps3 last year as I could barely see it but when I bought the PS4 it was so easy to see and now this again so has anyone noticed this ?

I'm entirely new to PS4, PlayStation as a whole, and The Show. I've never owned this game. I'm coming from an Xbox 360, where my favorite game was Fifa 14, and I loved playing the Ultimate Team mode. I'm excited to finally get to play an awesome baseball game! I guess my question is whether there is a page that will tell me or explain to me what exactly each mode does? For what I do, at this time at least, I don't play online multiplayer, so it's basically just me against the computer, although I am connected to the internet. So if I may ask...

1) I want to take the Pirates to the world series 10 years in a row (well, you get the idea anyways, right?) ... so which mode would be best for doing that?

2) What if I wanted to create my own franchise? Or player? What is the most popular mode that you guys use in this video game franchise? I'm looking forward to getting the most out of it. I bought the 10th anniversary edition. What good are the packs and stubs going to do me? Is it similar to packs and coins in Fifa? And can they be used only in one specific mode of the game?

In lieu of answering all those questions, if anyone wants to just point me to a particular page that explains this, then by all means. I know it's possible that these questions are answered in this very thread, but I didn't come by it, although I admit I haven't read through every page. Pretty long thread, but I'm excited to find this awesome forum.

PS: Also, will there be an updated roster file that someone here will make up so I can update the game with it like say in NCAA 14? Thanks in advance for any help. Apologies in advance if my first post is received with annoyance and hostility.

sure here they are. look at the grass texture difference and the armpit area on stroman. and these screenshots arent anywhere near as prominent as it really is on my 60 inch tv.

edit. also look at the 3/4 sleeves on the catcher martin. you can see his skin shows through on the bottom photo after i picked my pitch.

Is this glaring? I can't see much on these pics.....I hope this isn't bad cause it will bug me lol
