If I designate a player for assignment, I have 10 days to trade him, place him on waivers, or release him????

If I just 'send to AAA or AA' or whatever, it says I use 'one of his Minor League options.' How many does each player have?

Thanks guys, I guess I was under the impression I could promote/demote as often as I deemed necessary...?
Each player has the amount of waiters they have left, go to them in your roster screen and look at them and switch to the contact page which well lost the waivers they have left.

The game does this because those are the MLB rules for bringing players up and sending them back down.

      You can.
Using an option...is an entire option YEAR. From spring training to the end of the season you can ferry that player back and forth between the MLB and the minors on that one option without having to clear waivers.
DFA is used for when you want to IMMEDIATELY clear a 40 man spot(say when you do a 2 for 1 trade or when you sign a player from the FA list) DFA'ing gives you the spot immediately and then gives you that 10 days to figure on what move you will make with that player.

Im doing 30 team control. The players in A that OSFM placed their because they are injured, i gave them injuries when is started my franchise. The CPU isnt calling them up when they come off the DL like i thought they would. I seem to remember something about this last year but cant remember if it was that the cpu never calls them back up. Or if i screwed up my settings somewhere.

So before i restart my franchise which i have to do now. Should i put everyone back where they should be before injuring them? Or did i screw up and not set up my CPU profile right?

I have most likely a stupid question. I have been playing this game since the beginning , mainly RTTS and being this is the first year for carry over I have never ran into this before. I transferred two players from 14 and both have "dirty" rosters meaning nothing changed. Still the same rosters as 14 how do I update the rosters for RTTS ?? Any help would be awesome, aside from graphics I could continue on in the 14 version

When you transfer a save over you keep whatever the roster is that you were using the year before. You cant transfer a character and get updated rosters.

The service time rules do not seem to be correctly implemented. I have simmed a few seasons brining up Bryant on the 17th 19th and 22nd and once I sim the playoffs and get to the offseason mode he jumps to 1.0. Has anyone been able to figure out the date as implemented in the game?

Does anyone ever see the CPU take an extra lead off of any base? I never see it. Just wondering if you guys do?

Why is it so hard to hit changeups? The best I can do is foul the pitch off.

In franchise mode, before each game you get the pop up menu that asks if you want quick counts, broadcast view, and forecast. Forecast is set to clear skies every time. Will every game be clear skies unless I change it myself? or will it still randomize even though its set to clear? Thanks!
It's not randomizing this year, may be a bug that gets patched, but for now you have to change it if you want something different.

The AI does a good job running bases for you, with just the right amount of poor decisions.

FWIW, I use Auto Fielding and Throwing also. It eliminates some aggravation and makes the game much nicer to look at (no spinning baseball to show you where to catch the ball, no throw meter etc). Essentially, all I do is pitch and hit and I like it that way.
Ok great, thanks for your response and insite !!!! Got another newbie question for ya....When warming up pitchers in the bullpen,am I supposed to "stretch and toss" for a bit, then "warm up" and then "ready and waiting" once they are ready ??? Or do I skip "stretch and toss" ?? Thanks again !

I go straight to warm up most of the time.
But if you are a plan ahead guy.....have them stretch and toss then go to warm up.....especially if you notice you have a guy that takes more batters to get warm(like Parnell for me is a 4 batter warm up guy)...once ready....I use the ready and waiting until I need either one of them.

What doesn't make sense about it? That's the way it should work. How would it know what to change? Once a franchise is created, it's another MLB timeline.

I can't hit them worth a damn either. There's a thread on here where someone suggests that they need to open up the timing window, and I might agree.

When you sit and wait for what seems like 2 full seconds and you swing and you're still early, it's pretty annoying. And even if I'm a little early, why the hell can't I just pull the ball in fair territory ONCE in a while lol.

You're missing the point of carry over saves. The whole point is that you keep the same file going.

Why would it make sense to transfer over a save that's several years in the future and have the rosters suddenly warp to 2015 opening day rosters in the middle of a season or something? Carry over saves is so that you can continue on the same save file with whatever rosters are currently in your game, whatever trades, free agent signings, etc. have happened, and you can keep playing that same franchise or RTTS on this year's game, and next year's game. So you can finally finish an RTTS career or play 20 years into a franchise rather than doing a couple seasons and starting over again when the new game comes out.

It was never intended to keep your old save files from 14 all with 2015 rosters. That doesn't make any sense at all.
