I'm thinking of getting MLB show 15 but I'm use to batting with the PlayStation X button. I mostly played mlb 2k series but want to know if The Show 15 has controls for using the X button for batting. I tried the show a few years ago and just can't adapt to using the thumb stick to hit. Thanks in advance.

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
Hey all, so happy I found your community by googling all my questions about The Show. I finally coughed up the scratch for a ps4 so i could play this game. Also really glad this thread exists so noobs have somewhere to go for that helping hand in a time of peril.
ive had a number of questions that will probably come back to me later but there is one that has reached emergency status. I have 3 players on the disabled list, one each in MLB, AAA and AA. On the Manage Roster screen all three teams show only 24/25 spots filled. Yet when I try to sign a free agent, im told my roster is full and i need to release a player first.
i remember on some of the old maddens you could put players on the dl but it was made so that it didnt actually open a roster spot, so the dl was effectively useless. crossing my fingers that isnt the case here...the franchise mode on The Show seems too well-thought-out to have allowed such a simple error to have made it in, so maybe im missing something?
probably im missing something.
Also how does A-level ball work in this one, i see i have a roster but they dont seem to play games or accrue stats. does their season just start later ?
also also is it better to keep a prospect as a bench player in MLB and let them get at bats when they can or play everyday in aaa? any general advice on player development would be much appreciated.
but really the urgent thing is the free agent problem. sorry for rambling on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and thank you sooooo much to whoever helps. ill send you a six pack!
Well i wont. but someone at heineken will send you a six pack.
maybe.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
Your single A roster exists solely to fill the rosters above when you have injuries.
If you move a player from AAA to MLB right now you'll get this:
MLB 25/25
AAA 23/25
AA 24/25
So then you move 2 from AA to AAA and:
MLB 25/25
AAA 25/25
AA 22/25
Last, move 3 from A to AA and you'll have 25/25 at MLB, AAA and AA.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: Your roster limit through all 4 squads is 90. Apparently, you are at 90 which is why you can't sign FAs.Last edited by steelerfan; 05-21-2015, 09:04 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
Hey guys there was an issue with installing the game fresh where the progress bar wouldn't move. Does anyone remember what the fix was for it? I can't seem to find the thread.Comment

Guessing Pitches
I'm sort of a free swinger and here is my normal pitch guessing strategy:
All counts with 0 or 1 strike: Guess pitch and location. If I get it: use my judgement and power swing. If i miss it: use my judgement and regular swing
All counts with 2 strikes: Guess location DOWN (i find this one the hardest to see on my own). Depending on who i have at bat: Use my judgement and either regular or contact swing.
When I first got the game I ramped up to All-Star quickly, and this strategy worked great, and I would score 5-8 runs per game fairly consistently. At some point around the update, my offense went to absolutely nothing. Despite constantly upgrading my DD, i struggle to score even 3-4 runs per game on all-star difficulty.
Did they change the consequence for guessing incorrectly, or do I just suddenly sucks?
Also, I've tried this strategy against pitchers who have high ratings, mostly to get them out of the game.
All counts with 0 or 1 strike: Guess pitch and location: If I don't get it, dont swing no matter what. If I get it, use judgement.
All counts with 2 strikes: Don't guess and only contact swing.Comment
