Be careful though not to equate Timing with Contact. It somewhat makes sense that you are hitting home runs with Early and Late swings. After all it is easier to hit one out down the line than to center.

Good Timing and Bad Contact will lead to outs. Good Contact and Early or Late Timing can still be a formula for success.

Keep in mind that I'm not disputing your findings. I'm just reminding you that there are more factors than just Timing.

Point being maybe you need to tweak your sliders some to get the results you are looking for, are you using any custom sliders or default?
I am using Armor & Swords sliders and they are great. I don't have a problem getting hits, but it is head-scratching when hardly any come from good timing.

I had a bases loaded situation with Bryce Harper last night where I got a fastball down the middle and popped it straight up in the infield. Sure enough I checked the timing and it was good.

I hit a homer with the next batter and early timing so hitting is not the issue, nearly everything with good timing resulting in a pop-up or foul ball is. Just seems like something is off.

This would be much easier to diagnose had the PCI not completely disappeared for those of us using directional.

Yea I've noticed some of what your saying now that I've paid more attention to it, I guess so long as my gameplay and stats are realistic and as close to sim style as can be expected from a game I don't really pay too much worry about the exact result of different timing. I do notice that I almost never get good timing on something down the middle, so maybe that's why to me it's easier to miss what your example is because I usually get good timing with a pitch that has break on it or similar.

I am still having a ton of fun with the game, but whenever this happens - especially in situations like I described earlier - it just makes me shake my head and somewhat ruins the immersion and really screws with your timing.

Rusty....the obvious is to pick players with higher potential.
With that out of the way........

-I auto train except for a once in a while switch to increase a certain attribute, such as contact or power.....or one of the H/9.

-Now...this one goes back to potential in a way.....but put your players in the best position to either keep their high potential or to get an increase in a C or B potential(to get to either B or A).
What I mean is....I try not to put a player in over their head until they are ready to move up to the next level(as slumping for a few cycles greatly increases the chance of their potential being downgraded)
So keeping a younger not ready for even AA player in Single A(even though he doesn't play and get stats)...until he gets a couple of seasons of potential gains(his "automatic gains" from his potential letter)....is something I put into practice. I'm also keen on keeping an eye on performance and making changes to levels after receiving the monthly report from the farm director in your e-mails.(1st of the month I think)

                Hope this helps a bit.

Yeah I know to get good players I just mean like a method to training them. Sometimes my players attributes go down a point or two whole k have them on auto. I just want to be sure I'm doing it correctly

Some of the in season +/- is due to training.....but your coach/manager/director attributes also factor into the in season gains/losses.
Those are not permanent ....while the potential/training gains are.
(until age begins to decline them)
Performance also now increases gains/losses to progression/regression .....which carries on into the player career.

I have a couple of quick questions.... First off,I'm just doing a 1 year Pirates Franchise as I do not have much playing time (wifey, work ect...). I play 1 game,Sim 10, play 1 Sim 10 for just the 1 year. I'm a terrible 18-33 so far. I look at all my simmed games box scores, and as you know my lineups are being shuffled automatically. I understand players need rest as per their green energy bar...I read a post that said if I go to Sportscast Manager before a simmed game,I can manually set my lineup as I see fit...and then Sim that game with my proper lineup...If I use my proper or " Strongest " lineup for let's say 7 or 8 Simmed games In a row, while keeping an eye on my energy green bars...am I now going to see see a lot more injuries ??? I don't want to risk any long term injuries,or be "penalized" for manually setting up my lineups through Sportscast Manager... My team is not playing well on Simmed games,so I want to put my best lineup out there as often as I can...Has anybody seen a rash of injuries,or any negatives if I do it this way ?? I have injury slider on 6 by the way...Any help or advice out there would be very helpful ! Thanks again !!

                            KD....
If you do get an injury you don't like or can't cope with while simming/sportscase.....you can go into your profile and in GENERAL-ADVANCED(options) put injuries to MANUAL.....(not injury management...it's the injury setting itself). You can then remove the injury and put it back to ON when you're done.
Not perfect....but it is easily done.

And to add to that, I don't have any experience with sportscast simming or whatever, but I DO have a lot of experience not giving my guys days off.

I've run guys out there for weeks straight at times, and I have not noticed anything major enough to turn me away from that tendency.

So I don't think it is something you should worry that much about.

The only guy I really rest regularly is my catcher, because catcher injuries are a huge pain in the *** to deal with (you can't just slide another player over like, say, with a 2B injury).
