As many have said. Colors pop much more and that is a great thing for this game

love hitting without those stupid cpu pitch types on screen

gives the game a cleaner look and the depth perception increases

found a nasty o-2 pitch bug that i posted on the bugs thread with video

Stealing second with Puig against the Angels. Saw Weaver use a slide step delivery the pitch before I took off. Then, when I did go, Iannetta dropped the ball on his exchange from glove to hand. They showed a nice slow motion replay and said he flubbed the exchange to detail it.

Wonderful little touch. Don't recall seeing that last year. He literally reached into his glove as he jumped out of his crouch and his hand came out without the ball. Then the ball dropped to the ground as I pulled into second, uncontested.

I have a video of this, but I forget how to post videos here ha.

Perhaps we should start the 2015 Little Things thread?

Ah, very well. I played all 162 of my Pirates season last year, plus playoffs (lost in game 7 of NLCS), and never saw that happen once.

Starting to get hits again. There is definitely a graphical upgrade, less jaggies this time around. Just look at this screenshot I snapped during a mound visit

But I wish they would pay attention to the subtle things. The fans look great, they wear different team gear and react to plays.. But some of them don't react to foul balls lol.

(The ball went through his chest, then he mumbled something lol)

Why aren't any of the fans eating or wearing baseball gloves? They all look sad lol I doubt you'd see people pulling out umbrellas or rain gear when it starts pouring. Dynamic crowds is still on my wishlist

Still, best looking crowd and there's no more stutter when the screen pans across

            Things I've noticed

            - There are more animations for the first baseman when there is a routine out. It's been the same for years so this is nice.

            - The 'wet' dirt at the start of the game is really cool. Adds so much. The graphics in this are a lot better.

            - There are more necklace options? More noticeable on players than years before.

            - Don't remember seeing Scouts in the stand during RTTS prospect games last year. They also appear to change their attire from game to game.

            - Umpires seem to have more life. Again could be in last year but I've seen infield umps adjusting their belts, hiking up their pants.

The daylight transitions and shadows from the clouds are legit and awesome in this game. Played a game last night (Phillies at Reds) at 4pm in May with partly cloudy skies and the lighting was constantly changing. For example, at the start of the game there was sun in the background and on the pitchers mound and in the 4th, the sun hid behind some clouds. The next inning, the sun was starting to peek through the clouds a bit and started to cast sunlight on the field again.

Wish I would have archived my stream but not sure how to do that with Ustream.

I can confirm that substitutions are happening during Spring Training. And I'm not sure what all the patch fixed but man the game seems to be playing even better.

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)

                  Love it so far. Highlights:
                  • The lighting system is amazing. Seriously, it makes such a difference.
                  • The load times make me so, so happy. Incredibly shorter. Worth the price of admission right there.
                  • Already seeing more hit types, especially bloopers. Love it.
                  • Dunno if it's my imagination, but pitching appears to be harder. I got lit up over and over again on my imported franchise set on DD (HoF). I had to knock down the difficulty on both hitting and pitching. I think that's a good thing.
                  • God, I love the load times so much.
                  • No stutters, no hitches, no slow-as-balls cutscenes. They really nailed the framerate this year.

                  Lowlights:
                  • I'm seeing lots of player warping. Lots more than last year so far.
                  • Trade engine, again. The game suggested I (the Mariners) trade three very good players for Mike Trout. The Angels are leading my division right now, right before the trade deadline. I thought I'd heard from devs that the game won't trade big name players like Trout? Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, "typical complaint about trade engine" inserted here.
                  • I gotta double-check, but I think the game stuck some random player in my bullpen during my Franchise's import from last year to this year.
                  • Don't know that it really feels like there's anything that I can point to that would justify spending another $60 if I were explaining the game to a casual fan.

                  Niggles:
                  • The "Today's Games" screen sucks when you're playing 30-team control. Last year, when you wanted to simulate games before you played your team's games, you could blow through all of the simulations quickly. Now, for some silly reason, every time you hit "Simulate Game," the screen re-sets you to the top of the page. So you have to scroll down, to the game, hit simulate, wait, scroll down, hit simulate, wait, scroll down... etc. Last year, it was much easier. It's hard to explain but it's something I noticed right away, and hated.
                  • The game reset my cameras, difficulty, and something else when I saved the game and came back to it later.
                  • The radio show will need a lot of work next year, but it's cool for now.[/*]

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)

I can also confirm that subs are happening in simulated games as well.

The crowd/atmosphere is amazing in this game and I'm only in Spring Training! I had a 9th inning one out rally going and the crowd was going nuts (I was home team). Unfortunately Grichuk grounded into a game ending double play but really loved the crowd.

The gameplay is the best it has been and its not even close. Again, I don't think people will truly appreciate it until they get their hands on the game and play more than a game or two. It may look the same but it sure as shootin don't play the same. And that is a very positive thing.

                    Some tidbits:

                    * Tried picking off a runner at first 8 straight times with both quick and deceptive moves and not once did I throw the ball into the stands. Very good thing to see

                    * Balls in the dirt getting passed the catcher has been improved. I used to see one or two a game last year. This year I haven't seen one in 5 games. Again very welcomed addition.

                    * Fielding is a bit frustrating at first but its a good frustration. Batted balls that you were sure to field last year are now hits. And you are no longer locked into a fielding animation early. You are given more control over the fielders which is good and bad. Good because we asked for it. Bad because if you're like me, you'll be over running or missing routine plays lol

                    * I have been able to draw walks on default hall of fame hitting. I'm averaging about 3 a game in the Spring.

                    * The new fielding animations are a thing of beauty. Watching an infielder field a ground ball and transition to the throw is poetry in motion. Also, diving plays or spectacular plays look amazing! I screamed after Kozma dove in the hole to snag a worm burner liner. My wife asked what the hell was wrong with me..

I'm telling you this game is poetry in motion. Get your hands on it and play a handful of games and I believe that you'll 100% agree.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I threw over to first a total of 3 times in 4 games so far and on the third attempt I sailed on into the stands. :/ It was a lefty pitcher using a casual move and he just airmailed it. I was disappointed.

I did nail a speedy base stealer by using a slide step delivery to home. Was cool and definitely made all of the difference as I barely got him at second.

Whosever job was to animate the ballboys/girls deserves a raise.

Those little babystep duckwalk movements they do when running towards a ball is spot-on.

A couple of bugs I have found which I reported one in the bug thread but found another now.

The first was an 0-1 pitch to my hitter where i checked my swing and the ball was low and handled by the cpu catcher turned into a throw out at first base as my hitter ran towards first as if it was an 0-2 pitch that got away from the catcher. It was 0-2 after that pitch and the scoreboard read 0-2 and Harvey went to the next batter with just 2 pitches thrown. It was the start of the game.

Now I just saw another where I hit a liner towards the right field corner fair and the outfielder. ran it down quick to hold me to a single but his momentum took him to the side pad in the foul line which I stayed on first and got no single. It was ruled an error for that
