One thing I hope they do look at for future versions are injuries to pitchers.
While hitting them does seem to be toned down, when they do get hit not to see them go off injured is somewhat disappointing.
I just damn near tore Matt Shoemakers pitching arm off with a line drive which had it happened in real life would have put him out indefinitely, but instead he chased the loose ball and fired a rocket to first base...iI suppose I should be thankful I beat out the throw..:wink:

The camera cut scenes and presentation changes are really really well done and helps it feel way more like a real baseball game. I also really love the lisenced equipment. The shadow jaggies in certain cut scenes from last year are completely gone as far as I can tell. The framerate dips a little in cuts scenes still but no where near as bad as last year. Almost not even noticiable.

Biggest dilemma so far is a roster issue. The default ones are terrible IMO. I loaded my franchise from 14 but there are so many face scans missing. (Eg. Marcus Stroman Aaron Sanchez Donald Pompey) Stroman and Sanchez face scans in particular look awesome. Im probably gonna have a mess around franchise and then start fresh when the roster makers finish their thing.

Everything about gameplay is better it's probably not going to be enough different for some but Im absolutely loving it

In all my years of playing The Show I have never robbed someone of a HR. Well here is my first with none other than Puig. Game is awesome!!!

Just pitched a 1-hitter with Zack Greinke, Dodgers vs Cards. Ended up winning 4-0 in St Louis. I do think pitching is slightly harder than last year and that's a good thing.

Absolutely agree about pitching being more difficult. And with the defense not being able to get to balls they shouldn't this year, pitching a one hitter is a heck of a feat, no matter which pitcher you're using!

This isn't an exclusive thing to this year but I really appreciate how the show has so many different control schemes. While the game was installing I played the Giants royals with random settings I assume. The pitching was meter and I hadnt used it in a long time. Loved it am probably gonna go with that this year.

once I got into the game it loaded my gameplay settings from 14 which was very cool. I use zone analog for hitting and it's right or left for contact and down up for power. Is there a way to have it like last year where you hit x for contact and square for power before the pitch?

mine started this way because I loaded last year's save.

You have to go to gameplay options, and select zone hitting.. Disable analog

Ya but I want to use analog to swing.
Last year you could hit x or square before the pitcher started his wind up to pre determine contact or power then use analog to swing. As far as I can see you don't do that this year. It's just left or right to contact swing or down up for power. Am I missing something?

Great tech in this game. Small cloud of sand from the hop of the baseball, along with dirt mid air, grass swooped up beneath the diving Matt Adams, individual grass, dynamic lighting, high def crowd, me in the back (#77), name brand gloves, etc

Just had a challenge on a play at first. Called safe on the field and an option came up to challenge and I did. They replayed it a couple times and reversed the call to an out. Then bing I got a trophy. Super cool and the commentary was spot on.

Ok I was wrong about the shadow jaggies being gone. They are definetly way better but they still show up once and a while.

Something else weird I've noticed. When I'm pitching using the camera behind the pitcher. As soon as I pick a pitch when the pitch meter comes up the graphics have some weird type hiccup and all of a sudden the catchers and batters sleeves get all weird and you can see the skin through them.

Look at the catchers arms on the second photo. It might not look like much but when your playing the game those splotches are moving and flashing.

And it's exactly when I hit the button to pick a pitch. It's like the whole screen takes a milisecond graphic hit or something.

One piece of advice to share with fellow Show goers...

DEFENSIVE ALIGNMENT IS A MUST IN THIS GAME!


With how the defense has been reworked (for the better) and you're not able to run down balls easily like year's past, you are now forced to move your defense around to take away things like, ball over outfielders head, shots down the lines, or pull hits for certain players.

Like I said, fielding is a bit frustrating at first because of what we have been used to, but that is a very very good thing!
