One piece of advice to share with fellow Show goers...

DEFENSIVE ALIGNMENT IS A MUST IN THIS GAME!


With how the defense has been reworked (for the better) and you're not able to run down balls easily like year's past, you are now forced to move your defense around to take away things like, ball over outfielders head, shots down the lines, or pull hits for certain players.

Like I said, fielding is a bit frustrating at first because of what we have been used to, but that is a very very good thing!

Yes, agree cb. The OF player suction type fielding is gone. The players also have momentum when sprinting for a ball. Really enjoying the fielding this yr.

Same here. Fielding is great and it makes hitting fun as well since the cpu fielders no longer get to these balls either.

Takes a few games to get used to, but man is it a great improvement!

I also want to say that for those wondering, I have not yet seen the wall suction animation that triggered last year when your player was fielding a ball near the wall. Last year you would get sucked into this animation that would pull your fielder towards the wall. This year that is non-existent, at least through my 10 games or so it has been.

Didn't get to play a full game just played the installation game between royal and giants.

The ai is much better in four innings I was down seven to one and I wasn't even mad lol

The graphics just amazing

I love the new hitting in this game

Usually I do auto fielding but I actually like controlling the players. Most of the runs I gave up was because I didn't throw to the cut off man. I see this year it's very important

Love the sound and to think I didnt get to see the full thing since it was installing

Later today I play a full game and come back with more thoughts. But so far Russell snd crew thank u as always for a wonderful game. I can't wait to see the little things thread this year

This is probably old and seen before but I thought it was pretty cool to see old teammates chalk it up before a game. Hanley Ramirez & Adrian Gonzalez at Fenway Park. And I might add Fenway looks amazing at night. Hell all the parks look amazing with the lighting tweaks

Few more things.

The way the leg protectors look is perfect for the first time in a baseball game ever as I recall.

Umpires legs don't look so much like rescue heroes anymore.

Dirt does look better

A guy on the Yankees hit an rbi and the guy who scored walked into my dugout for some reason. Lol

Buehrle took a liner in the leg and had to leave the game so the trainer came out and walked him off the field. He was limping on the correct leg looked really cool. But then I chose a replacement pitcher and it went to a cutscene of buehrle walking off the field again but not hurt.

Pineda had 5 strikeouts and they did a replay of the last pitch of all 5 strikeouts. I've never saw that last year. Was very cool

Not sure if I'm reading too much into this but......
Playing v philly at CBP at 4pm.
Hit a liner to CF for what should be an easy out. Revere coming out of the shadows into the direct sunlight completely whiffs and the ball rolls all the way to the wall for a triple.
Would be very cool to think that the sun had an effect on him missing that ball.......

Only played one full game so far. Just some random thoughts.

-Graphics have improved for sure. Colors really seem to pop this year. Game play feels silky smooth pretty much the whole game. I don't have the numbers but the framerate seems better and more consistent.

-I love the directional hitting where you use the left stick to adjust your vision and look for pitches in certain zones. Really addes to the pitcher vs. batter matchup

- Quick Counts seem to be better balanced this year.

-Fielding seems to be much improved.. This maybe the first year I use manual fielding in about 5 years.

-Camera angles seem to be tweaked this year, but for the better.

-Am I imaginig things or is there no post game highlight reel anymore?

-Maybe it's the more consistent framerate, or maybe it's my imagination, but it seems a little easier to square up on fastballs this year.

-To me pitching is a little bit tougher this year. This along with the new defensive system, give the CPU offense a little more punch imo, that's a good thing for sure.

I'll play more tonight once basketball is over.

Another thing I'm loving is ps4 related. I love with the new ps4 update that the game picks up were I left off if the ps4 goes into rest mode. Handy feature for a father of a 6 month old Considering how long 1 game takes.

Im really not fond of the new controls for hitting zone analog.

Heard the radio show for the first time. I liked it. It's just plain and simple guy reading scores. I think it serves it's purpose.

no go for edwing unfortunately. I was hoping when russell was asking last year about team specific things a bunch of people put edwin encarnacion running the bases with his arm cocked but it didn't make it in apparently. Just hit a homer with him and he ran the bases normal.

The new catcher equipment is sick. Looks absolutely incredible.

I like the neon colors they added as well.

The necklaces look pretty cool. You can choose many different colors but they also included gold and silver as an option and they look fantastic. Only thing I've noticed so far though is that I don't think they equipped anyone with gold or silver as default. Every player with a necklace I've seen by default is either a team color or black. Which is too bad because the necklaces look like they were meant to be gold or silver. it's going to be a headache to manually change them all.

I'm trying not to harp on this but something is up with day games for me. I posted earlier that the catchers sleeves went all wonky after I selected a pitch
That game was a day game. I've played 4 night games after that with no issue and now another day game. I took russell Martins 3/4 sleeves off so I wouldn't have that issue and it did clear that up. Now though the back of stroman's jersey gets all screwed up mostly around his shoulders and armpit area but it's only after you select a pitch. It's weird you can see the whole screen kinda change in a milisecond Right when you select a pitch. The first photo is before I select a pitch and the second is right after. It might not look like much because I took a picture of my tv with my phone but it's big time noticeable while I'm playing. Anyone else noticing that at all?

At the end of the day it's not a huge deal. I mean the game is incredible. I'm not trying to nitpick it just really is quite noticeable and no one else seems to be reporting the issue so I'm wondering if it's to do with something else maybe.

Edit. I was trying to pay closer attention and that milisecond hiccup I was talking about seems like it's the resolution changing right when I pick a pitch. In the top picture you can see the grass has texture and detail but then in the bottom picture it's all flat. what I'm thinking is a milisecond hiccup is actually the grass changing texture.

Ok I'm almost sick of the radio show already. Definetly needs more lines of dialogue. I heard (enter name) had a huuugggeee day offensively 4 times in the same radio show.
