Playing on my player whos in his first full season in the majors even though he got around 100 bats last season. I have played a few different postions mostly to get more playing time. Drafted by the royals i have played 1b(obviously not much all i did was DH) 3B and RF. But last night playing i drilled john danks in the face with a line drive he hits the deck writhing in pain and immediately leaves the game ...has anyone else done this? Video game or not i felt bad lol

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
So on MLB 14 I had been writing long-winded seasonal write-ups on my guy, Julian Moses.
I just finished another season but don't feel like doing a huge write-up on it this time, so I'll keep it much more brief. Mostly pictures.
Year 1
Year 2
Year 3
Year 4
Year 5
This season was played partially on MLB 14 (up to the all-star game), and the rest of the way on MLB 15. On both games, this was the year I finally put it all together and became a FORCE.
Season stats:
Finally... WALKS! 80 of them to be exact. Not Barry Bondsian walks, but it shatters my previous season high of 47.
I stopped forcing things this year. Started taking EVERY first pitch against lefties, who are the bane of my existence. If the first pitch was a ball... I'm taking the 2nd pitch too. Then on 2-0 I'm probably taking unless the situation demands me to knock in some runners in scoring position. On Base Percentage jumped up by 87 points this year. My biggest challenge next year won't be to top 43 homers (which I've done 2 straight seasons), but 80 walks. Now that I've tasted a great on-base percentage, I can't regress back into the .350's or something.
My actual batting average was as high as mid .330's through much of the year. Dipped down into the .310's after I switched to MLB 15 and struggled at first. Then climbed back up to .327 as I got the hang of the new Pure Analog (I still think getting rid of the stride was a terrible decision, but whatever).
Random Accomplishments:
- longest hit streak of career at 20 games (it actually might have been slightly longer but I can't remember, it happened before the long hiatus I took before MLB 15 came out).
- hit for first MLB cycle
- hit 2 homers, a triple and 5 RBI in the All-Star game (lost game 12-11 so no MVP).
And finally, the moment I've been waiting for for 6 virtual years...
Finally got that elusive MVP. I also took home the Hank Aaron Award, and a Silver Slugger. I finally cracked the top 3 for Gold Glove voting at my position, but when I committed my first error of the year in the last few weeks of the season I fell off. I just can't keep up with the ridiculous assist totals that the CPU guys get. They are RIDICULOUS. I said it twice for emphasis.
Playoffs
I won't get into a long story, suffice it to say my Royals, after winning 112 games and beating the Dodgers for our first World Series title last year, won 114 games this season and made it back to the Series. However, we suffered heartbreaking defeat in 7 games.
However, my play was still strong enough to win Playoffs MVP (an imaginary award, but I'll take it).
This brings me to the final year of team control with the Royals. I opted out of arbitration to take team friendly deals in my arb years, but that will be coming to an end when I hit free agency. With this being my final season in Kansas City, I want to go out on top and win a 2nd World Series title with this team before I say my farewells.

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I think I just enter Aug of 2015 and my RTTS CF is still in AAA for the Cardinals.
He is a 70 ovr with a +5 due to equipment.
He is a speed demon (92 with +7 on equipment) and far and way leads the league in SB and triples.
I am expecting a Sept call-up unless another OF gets hurt (Holliday is on the DL) and I get there sooner.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Made a Starting Pitcher and playing on dynamic difficulty. In the Tops Showcase I went 9 IP allowing just 3 total hits, 0 ER and 15 Strikeouts with 0 Walks. I was drafted #1 overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now pitching in AA in Mobile, AL.
Through 6 Starts im 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA. I had 1 bad game in my 2nd start when I gave up 5 ER's but aside from that I've been lights out. I've gotten 60 K's and only 2 WalksFavorite Teams:

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I made a 2B / utility IF. I didn't play all that well during the first showcase so I elected to go to two years of community college. I came back and played much better. Cincinnati selected me with the 10th pick of the 1st round.
I started out strong for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos but misfortune struck in only my seventh game. On a routine throw to first something popped in my shoulder. I made my way to the dugout with my right arm hanging limply at my side. I was diagnosed with Shoulder Cartilage Damage and placed on the 60-day DL on April 15th.
I returned on June 15th and pretty much picked up where I left off. My batting average was in the mid-.300s, my on-base percentage was great and I was picking up a good number of RBIs when I had the opportunity. That's why I was surprised when I was traded to the Orioles for SS Evereth Cabrera on July 1st.
It didn't seem to be a need based decision although the fact that Brandon Phillips was playing really well may have factored into it. If so, that would seem short sighted considering his age. Maybe they were concerned about the injury? (In the fictional back story I inevitably make up for every player I create an arm injury is what forced me to play 2B in the first place.)
Regardless, I'm now playing for the Bowie BaySox and doing pretty well. My average has dropped a little but I'm still producing. Because of the time lost on the DL I may not get a call up this year but I hope to play well enough to get a Spring Training invite next year.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Got called up to the Diamondbacks after my 6th start in AA.
I'm 12 starts into my major league career, I'm 5-2 with a 1.73 ERA. The dynamic difficulty is up to Veteran and now usually I have a tough inning once or twice now.
I also made the All Star game me this season
In my first All Star Game I came in in the 6th inning. First batter I face. Miguel Cabrera. 4 pitch Pop Out. Next, Mike Trout. 3 Pitch Strikeout. Next, Andrew (don't know how to spell his last name but in real life he's on Pittsburgh). 3 Pitch Strikeout. Thought that was a great way to make a Naional Debut.
I've continued playing since the beginning of this post. It's August and I'm helping Arizona battle for the last Wild Card spot. I'm up to All Star difficulty. I haven't been getting much run support which is frustrating. But I'm up to 9-2 with a 1.41 ERA in 18 Starts and I'm leading for Rookie of the YearLast edited by JJFurr29; 04-21-2015, 12:36 AM.Favorite Teams:

Re: Official MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Just started a pitcher. 6'7 slinging lefty who uses Jordan Zimmermans release and has 3 pitches that are 4SFB Sweeping Curve and Splitter. I was drafted 29th in the 2nd round by the Angels. My first game was a rough one as i let up 2 homers for 3 runs and took the loss. Upside is in 5.1 innings pitched he struck out 7 people.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I called up to the Cardinals in early August.
Of course the Cardinals don't resemble the Cardinals much. Wainwright, Molina and Lynn have all been traded. I have Starlin Castro and Everth Cabrera as my middle infield. Miguel Montero as my catcher. My starting pitching has Martinez and Lackey left. Jordan Walden is in Triple A. I have Hanley Ramirez and Matt Holiday apparently splitting time in Left Field.
If the Cardinals ever actually traded Yadi to the Cubs, the fans would string up the GM.
I said it before. The trade logic in RTTS is not very logical.
There is no way to see a transaction history in RTTS is there?Last edited by Dolenz; 04-21-2015, 11:05 AM.Comment
