Playing LEGEND, sliders are at default....Created CF, got drafted by the Marlins in the 6th round. After 80 or so games in AA for the Jacksonville Suns (I've only played 58) I'm hitting .232/2/31, but have like 10 triples. This is my first time playing this on legend. Anyone else playing this difficulty and if so, how successful are you?Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Karma's a bitch.
In AA, up to bat. Drops the pitcher with a line drive off his face. Message pops up saying that he will have xrays and most likely a broken jaw and will miss significant playing time.
Fast forward a few days. I'm playing SS and go to dive for a line drive in the gap. I don't get it and get a message that I've got a significant foot injury. They show me being carried off the field by a couple teammates throwing my head back in pain. End up with a broken ankle and put on the 60 day DL. Came back a couple days after the AA AS game.
Guess that will set me back a little.Make #FranchiseNation great again!

What's your thoughts? It's a game.

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I created a new player this year, a 1B named Sparky Gustavson. In a really strange twist of fate, I was drafted in the first round by the Twins. For those who don't get why that is interesting, everyone in MN has the last name Gustavson, Severson (my SIL), or some other Scandinavian last name.
Ol' Sparky is off to a great start batting around .350. Unfortunately, most of those hits are without men on base because through 40 games, he only has 15 RBIs. Also, the power isn't quite there yet - he only has 4 homers.
Because he is big and has good power, he started off hitting in the 4 or 5 spot, but lately, he's getting moved around. He batted lead-off in the last two games. I feel like his speed (59) doesn't warrant the lead-off spot, but he does get on base a lot. It's been a work in progress in terms of exactly what type of player he will be.Comment

I'd say things were peachy when my guy was in the minors but I just can't figure out the batting at the majors. In AAA I was hitting .280 and plenty of home runs ,but things changed when my player got promoted in to the Rockies organization. I was hitting .150 and got sent back to the AAA. Back there I was hitting even better, about .350 and got the promotion, again, but the result being the same as before, actually now the hitting is even worse.
I'm using directional hitting but I'm just puzzled with it. Before this I've always used zone hitting and I almost went back to it but I still want to try with the directional. Also, I don't want to switch from the dynamic difficulty (Legend) because I like the challenge, however I'm starting to lose faith on this.
So I would say there is a drastic difference between the major league and minor league pitchers and that's how it should be. However, when I'm being patient and waiting for the right pitch I just can't execute. What makes it frustrating is that the timing is good but still it's always either a pop out, a lazy grounder or a fly out. What makes it even more frustrating is that I can't make a good contact even when the pitch is in the middle of the plate with perfect timing.
Oh well, I suppose things will start to click. I surely hope soComment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
In mine just last night we traded Bumgarner for Andrew McCutchen who is on the DL right now for a month with a fractured wrist. Madison is leading the Cy Young race right now. I feel as if hitting wasn't even an issue for us in batting 5th in the rotation and Hunter Pence is leading the league in RBIs in the mid 80s and it's the end of June.
We are about 5 GB of the Dodgers for the division so I guess there trynna make something happen. But with Posey batting 3rd, Pence 4th, me 5th and Belt 6th we are already stacked!Comment

Pitching clutch, stamina, control for each pitch type, k/9 and h/9....thats what I personally focused on and my SP is currently 5-0 with a 1.58 era since being called up to the majors.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Started my Road to the Show with a pretty lackluster Showcase as a SP.
Was drafted in the middle of the 4th Round and decided to go to school for 4 years, both to get my stats up, and be able to do another showcase.
After the second Showcase, I was drafted in the 3rd Round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
I was sent straight to the Biloxi Shuckers in AA. After 10 games, I was promptly pulled up into the Colorado Springs Sky Sox rotation in AAA. I played out the whole season, finishing with a 2.15 ERA.
In the offseason, I held out on resigning with the Brewers, because I didn't like my chances of being brought into the Milwaukee bullpen during the 2016 season, but no other teams were biting. I reluctantly signed.
To my surprise, the Brewers had me relief pitching during the preseason, and after a few alright performances, I was brought into the bullpen for the season proper.
After about 15 games as a relief pitcher (only getting one or two innings) my ERA was sitting above 5.00 and I didnt like my chances of staying up in the Majors. I asked for a trade on more than one occasion, but again, no one was interested.
After a couple of decent games, I got my ERA under 3.00 and asked to be added to the pitching rotation, which was accepted, much to my surprise.
So far my ERA is 2.81, 32 SO with a 2-3 W/L record from 32 innings.
Since I have been put in the rotation, and the Brewers are sitting top of the table, I won't be asking for a trade anytime soon.Last edited by NudeUp; 04-22-2015, 12:45 AM.Comment

This is why I never choose my own team anymore. I've created pitchers for the Cubs (Smokies) but have never once pitched at Wrigley for the Cubs themselves.Comment
