Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread

Just played the All Star game and had Tulo and my own Freddie Freeman hitting back to back. Then I thought what would it take to get them together. As of now I am not seriously considering it but just wanted to get your opinion on these packages and what a fair offer would be for the rockies.

Deal A: Lucas Sims (3rd spect), Braxton Davidson (8th spect), Wes Parsons (16th spect), Dustin Peterson (17th spect). So 4 top 20 prospect.

Deal B: Any prospect but Peraza, Hursh, Jenkins, and Mallex Smith.

He was two high C's last year and that equals a low B so Guerrieri could work. Unless you'd rather send off two lower rates prospects (high C's)

I want to sent Hamels to the cubs and get either Castro or Beaz for sure. All the other guys I don't really care which teams they go to just make sure they go to someone who is in a playoff race and they'll actually start/play. I can't seem to get the Hamels cubs trade to go. Wondering what I could do to make it go down. I've saw the whole control all 30 MLB teams rosters but not really sure I want to do that. Also I like to possibly get Andre Either from the Dodgers. Anyway y'all got any thoughts or suggestions for me.
Hamels for Baez would never work straight up. I'd add in two C prospects or a low B.

I think I'll go with Walden. He is on the DL right now but only for 1-6 more days. So Cecil for Walden straight up? Or do I need to add something?

It's good as a straight up deal

For the guy wanting to do the Hamels to Cubs deal:

              Phillies Receive:
              Javier Baez
              CJ Edwards
              Junior Lake
              Wellington Castillo (?)

              Cubs Receive:
              Cole Hamels

Cubs land another top "ace" to go along with Lester and Arrieta, Cubs have an INF of Rizzo - Russell - Castro - Bryant, not much room for Baez unless outfield move.

I was thinking of a deal involving the Cubs and Sonny Gray from the A's. The Cubs want to add pitching, but probably want someone with a few years control. What do you think that deal would look like?

Playing as the astros in mid june, I want some starting pitching. I'm thinking of moving would be chris carter, who leads the league in hrs with 19, is .256/.342/.538 but also has 78 strike outs. Im looking for a youngish pitcher either in the mlb or 1 or 2 seasons away, and would prefer someone with decent control but its not to important I could also add Gattis and orberholtzer as a replace starter

Kind of tough. Who is all in the running for a playoff spot? Maybe do a Lyons + Reynolds for Carter type from the Cardinals, doesn't make a ton of sense but not sure what else could be brought up and is fair.

I'm using the Cubs and looking to upgrade my outfield, particularly left field. Chris Denorfia just went down for 1-2 weeks with a sprained pectoral, and I'm not sold on Chris Coghlan. No moves have been made up to this point, but I have called up Addison Russell and Kris Bryant. We're currently 7-9 and in last place in the NL Central.

What's the motivation for these guys to give up a useful bat for a lateral bullpen move?

Which teams are down and look likely to stay down? Pick the meat off those corpses.
Hernandez is rated 76, but hasn't played that well for me either, whereas other lower rated guys have stepped up making him expendable. I used the Suggest Trade feature as the starting point, but wanted to get feedback from here to assure that I don't make a bad trade for me or the CPU.

Swisher (72 ovr) isn't seeing a lot of playing time in Cleveland as he's stuck behind Santana (81) at first, Brantley (81)/Murphy (76) in the outfield and Moss (81) at DH. Even with when he does get in he hasn't be that successful, hitting on .237 with 1 HR and 6 RBI in 76 AB. Their bullpen currently has two guys Rzepczynski and Hardone with ERA's of 10.22 and 6.10 respectively and Hernandez would be rated higher that all of their bullpen except their closer and tied with Bryan Shaw.

Morales (72) is in a similar situation stuck behind Hosmer at first and Krantz at DH. Although, the difference with him is that he's hitting the ball pretty well, .291 with 1 HR, but only 4 RBI in 86 AB. KC's bullpen is actually really, really good with Hochevar (79), Herrera (82), Davis (86) and Holland (90) all rated higher than Hernandez. I don't think a trade with them makes much sense now after seeing that.

Reynolds (72) is behind Adams (77) at first and is really struggling hitting on .184 with 1 HR and 3 RBI in 38 AB. The Cards bullpen is actually pretty good as well; with four guys rated higher than Hernandez.

As for the lower rated teams, I know that they would probably want prospects rather than a decent RP, so the trade would be much different. The Phillies, Reds and Marlins have the worst records in the NL and the White Sox, Twins and Astros have the worst record in the AL.

I could see the Indians pulling that one off though for two reasons...salary dump (if you're playing with IRL salaries) and to clear up a bit of a logjam at 1B/OF/DH
See above. Also, I'm not opposed to adding another MLB player up in the trade. Specifically, Gerald Laird or maybe on of my INF's like Chris Owings or Nick Ahmed.

Sure, but who do they play when those guys are tired/injured if they give him up? Hernandez is a nice piece for their pen so they'd probably do it straight up but losing Atchison (who is higher rated than Hernandez) in the process probably blows it up for them. You said you'd be willing to give up Owings also though which seems like it would make it a no-brainer for them. You could do Owings & Hernandez for Atchison/Swisher/Kyle Crockett I think to give you something long-term.

Would it be even remotely possible to land Urias or Giolito with the Cubs by using a package of Baez, Almora, Edwards as the headliners. Baez is performing pretty good in AAA and Almora is absolutely killing it in AA.

The Dodgers are 8 games back at this point and Kendrick is hitting in the low .230s with 2 hr.

The Nats are 3 games up and Escobar is hitting in the mid .220s
