Actually, pure analog has always been like this with the pci. ALWAYS. You had to stride and then push up to the left, right or center depending on the location of the pitch. The ONLY thing different about pure analog this year from last is that you don't have to stride for a regular swing.

You could influence pull or push by going up-left or up-right, but it was never to the degree that Wolverine and others have been describing, with basically the X axis being mapped circularly around the upper half of the right stick range of motion, having to adjust incrementally the angle of your swing to account for how far inside or how far outside. It was never like that in the past. It was just "if you wanna go to the opposite field, and the ball is middle to outside, push up and to the right (for a righty)." It wasn't a requirement in order to get your PCI anywhere near the ball. The PCI would be controlled by plate vision, and would still easily find the ball anywhere inside the strike zone as long as your vision was good enough.Comment
