I tried to reproduce this and 15% of the time the catcher applies the tag properly although the runner will still be safe at times. I'm not seeing what is causing the no tag issue.

Sigh. I really hope they look into fixing this because its a huge part of baseball.

That video is awful. I have yet to run into a single issue with any tags at any base, but that video alone shows there definitely needs to be a fix and soon.

So I just had two very bad AI plays in back to back innings. First a batter hits a little half bunt to my 2B, he throws it to the 1B and the 1B never moved to the bag. He just sat there in his position so the runner was safe.

2nd I just had Kershaw bunt on me so my 1B goes picks it up..I throw it to first base where the 2B is covering and he is standing before the bag and walks away never touching the bag so Kershaw was safe! That's never happened to me before in MLB The Show!

I haven't seen a missed tag other than home but those are difficult to reproduce. The 1st & 3rd issue is easy to reproduce. I saw it in the first game I played and have been troubl shooting it since.

1. Int walk a batter
2. Balk twice to get him to 3rd
3. Int walk 2nd batter
4. Switch teams.
5. Cue to steal second & send the runner at 3rd home after the throw.

Too many times the catcher will not make the tag. Im enjoying the game but I keep trying find what is triggering the no tag issues. The catcher issue and the 1st base one above both seem to be a player awareness issue.

Yep, that's another issue that I've seen happen a few times as well.

Yea hopefully Ramone or one of the devs will see this and try looking into this. Almost lost me a game against the Dodgers.....and from my Avi I'm sure you can all tell how much I hate losing to the Dodgers lol

And one of the big crimes here, and this has been my experience, but these gifted missed tags and other buffoonery are all benefitting the cpu.

I have only seen straight up normal fielding errors by the cpu help me.

If these missed tags worked both ways at least there would be balance/harmony.

I really hope this gets addressed in a patch. I didnt see a bug report on the show nation report system with this issue specifically, but there was one with double steals/tags at home.


Hopefully enough of us will upvote the bug reports to get the issue acknowledged.

Thanks for posting those. I thought I was the only one getting plays at the plate where the catcher either doesn't sense the runner is there or just misses the tag.

I'm not sure but my feeling is, because the catcher has the ball in his throwing hand after a pitch-out he doesn't apply the tag. Almost as if he's waiting on the ball to be thrown home. I haven't seen any missed tags at the bases themselves but its obviously an issue.


I really hope that SDS see these reports of missed tags and correct them.

I don't know what to say. This videos and such don't look good but I have yet to have any thing even close to this. I find a lot of times I don't have certain problems with games that a lot of people do. I have yet to see this and I have yet to see the CPU try a single squeeze bunt but yet some people have seen a lot of them. We all have the same game so I don't know how it is that I don't have those 2 issues at all when another people do.

Try going into any replay of any tag and i bet you 99% of the time you will see the exact same problems as the posters are showing, its undeniable and unacceptable, GLOVES DONT GO THREW BODY PARTS.
