I don't think that matters. Any setting you will see it. It's just very bad animations. Apparently these missed tags were a part of the new fielding animations added this year.

They dont go THROUGH body parts either. But NO sports game has an engine where there is NO clipping. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory had an amazing engine with rag doll physics and clipping was almost non existent, but a sports game has no use for that kind of engine, so I think you'll ALWAYS see sports games with at least SOME clipping.

This one here's a little more believable since the guy's trying to avoid the tag around the plate, but I still beat him..

That one just looks like a good slide and a late tag, as opposed to a missed tag.

Is every slide into home an animation where the guy tries to tag the plate with his hands? What happened to good old fashioned feet first slides?

Yeah, i have noticed a trend in MLB where the catcher blocks home plate with their foot/leg/shin/body and the only thing the runner can do is the hand first hook slide type thing, but there is absolutely no enforcement of any rules pertaining to the catcher, im just waiting for a runner to plow a catcher and then after the game calmly explain that no collisions at home plate doesnt apply when the catcher is blocking the plate, especially if the catcher doesnt even have the ball yet.

Yan Gomes suffered a MCL sprain because of this. And the runner slid feet first right into his foot. Luckily it wasn't a worse injury

Last night I threw home and just let the CPU take over and he hardly moved to make the tag. The next time, I controlled the catcher and he made some animation where I could not make the tag.

What is the consensus of how and who makes the tag??
I always let the CPU do the tagging at home and the only issue I've had was a suicide squeeze where I pitched out and ther was no attempt at a tag.

The point to me posting this was to show I beat the runner by 10 or so feet, it wasn't bang bang.. WHY then did my catcher wait so long to apply the tag on just the right body part? I like this direction of new tagging.. but it's broken... just saying.

But your throw didn't beat the runner by 10 feet. It actually barely beat the runner and the runner made a good slide to avoid the tag.

I agree. I actually really like that particular tag/slide animation.

I had posted this in the Photo/Media section but I'll put it here hoping maybe SECA can see it. I also tried to post this in their(Sony's official site bugs thread) but I kept getting uploads error.

This is not a missing tag issue but it is kind of similar in that the animations in MLB15 seems buggy. This is in RTTS. If you look I was rounding second base knowing that I could make it to third because the third baseman was out of position. In all my years playing MLBTS going back to 2006 version I never seen this. But in MLB15 I'm seeing lots of buggy animations lately. Did QA go on Sabbatical? lol

I've seen this kinda stuff too, but its always been second or first when I'm turning the double play.

I get upload errors on the bug report too, but it still uploads. Did you check your reports to see if it uploaded?

had a somewhat similar issue myself against the angels. My runner was going to first on a chopper and the 3B threw to the 1B, he got the ball well in time, trotted over to first, and stepped over the bag entirely. My runner ran through as usual and was called safe.

Seemed odd to me that it actually registered the 1B not touching the base, but there are several times when baserunners when sliding back to a base will come off the bag entirely or not even step on it when returning from a single leadoff (2B happens a lot) and always end up safe.

I think tags are generally better post patch but I just had a game that I got screwed twice. One was at a play at home where the catcher had the ball at least 2-3 seconds before the runner hot there. Catcher completely missed the tag.
The second one I have a video. https://youtu.be/NGXuvJwVr_w

In all fairness I'm not sure if the ball in the glove actually ever touches the runner seeing as the whole left side of the fielders body morphs thru him.
