Marlins completed a trade with the Angels to pick up Ben Revere.

In return, the Marlins sent a pair of SP prospects, 22-year-old Lorenzo Mendoza and 20-year-old Max Hayes.

Mendoza is the more developed of the two, and scouts think he has top-of-the-rotation upside. Hayes could be a solid #3 or #4 according to most accounts.

To make room for Revere, the Marlins made an interesting decision to try to pass Nori Aoki through waivers instead of using the last option on Marcel Ozuna. Aoki's very poor batting average likely had something to do with that decision. Still, Ozuna has little more than an arm for the outfield, defensively speaking.

With just 8 games left on Hall of Fame pitching and hitting (started on dynamic but was 11-2) The new look Boston Red Sox are 102-52. I have the division long locked up, but I have the 3rd best record in baseball behind the Dodgers and Angels. Pedroia is leading the AL in batting average (.332). Johnny Cueto is a lock for the cy young as he is 18-5 with a 1.65 ERA. The rotation behind him is shaky, at best. There is no better feeling than completing a full season of any sports game, but baseball is by far the best.

Giancarlo Stanton picked up his 300th career HR.

It was a while in coming. He was stuck on 299 after getting mired in a 3-week slump that saw his average drop 40 points and barely holding to .280.

He's started doing a bit better and picked up #300 in the process.

"I wish it was in front of the home fans, but I feel lucky to have been able to do this, " Stanton spoke after the game.

Sadly, the Marlins have not played particularly well, recently going 2-3, largely because of the lineup being in shambles from #5 on down. Revere isn't helping just yet at the plate and there's not much coming from SS or 3B, no matter who's there.

Yelich has been slowing down as well. If that continues, that would leave, basically, just the Chris pair, Taylor and Davis, doing much of anything in the lineup.

No indications of another trade just yet, but if the lineup doesn't pick up, the Marlins might have to play blood to get a good infielder. Maybe 3B could hold on until Carlos Santana gets back, but SS has no one - but trading for a good shortstop would be very costly, even if it's possible.

Could the Marlins do it? Perhaps if Aaron Sanchez comes back to health by the trading deadline. Sanchez and another top pitching prospect as the center pieces probably could do it, but would the Marlins want to?

I read through a few pages and didn't see anybody trying this .. So just curious has anybody tried being the GM and accomplishing the goals and moving on to another team? Like start at the bottom and try and get offered a job at a better team (if it even works that way).

Debating between starting a franchise with the Yankees and going through the coming rebuild (is there a starter under 30 lol) or trying something like what I just mentioned.

Currently playing Opening Day 2016 with my new Mets Franchise. For some reason playing the Orioles at home.

Top 2nd, Caleb Joseph the number 8 hitting catcher hit a 2r Homer off of Harvey. Like why. But then in the bottom 3rd Harvey is up with an 0-1 count and launches a Homerun! How often do you see a Pitcher homer on Opending Day. I think it was actually done this or last year but I just thought that was cool. Mets offense still so bad the pitchers still have to hit to win. Top 5, Granderson drops the ball in RF and the stupid game gives him 2 errors..Ok then.

Each time I play this game I just get suprised about how many dumb things can happen. Leadoff double for Crush Davis and then get the next two out in the top of the 6th. It's Johnathan Schoop up now whos 2-2. Wild pitch *somehow* on a curveball that didn't even miss the target. Then on a 1-2 count Harvey throws a sizzling fastball that SOMEHOW (I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE) bounces off d'Arnauds facemask about 60ft in the air, and lands right before Davis scores from third. Like are you kidding me. This game gets me so angry. Wants you to lose man. Harvey's done after 6.0 innings and 11 ks, 2 Earned Runs and 6 hits.

Not to mention, the Splitter in this game is basically Changeup 2.0 - just as broken. How the heck are you supposed to tell it's a splitter/change and that it'll dip 2 feet below the bottom of the zone? Frustrating.

This umpire for this game could not be any worse either. Didn't call virtually ANYTHING on the corners. Nothing. Drove my pitch count up for everyone. Ridiculous. Top 8 now and Davis homers, follows by a Jones single. This whole game I've just been screaming 'This is just stupid."

After a Wright single, I go down in the 9th on such a classic MLB The Show and classic Harvey way to lose. Awesome. Here's to the rest of the season.

Ive never posted regarding to my franchise, so Im gonna give it a try.
I started a franchise for the Rockies back at release of the OSFM and I'm currently in June of 2016.
(I play roughly half of my games with Quick Counts, and the rest player lock)
Quick Summary of 2015
(64-98) 28th In the MLB
24th in Team BA .247
30th in Team ERA 4.20

Very Poor season, as it started slow and never changed. I lost Cargo the first 2, and last 2 months of the season, and Tulo also hit his usual injury around midway, i lost him for the season. A traded a few older players throughout the season. With a few Major fixes, without changing my core.

Currently at the end of June, and 41-37 leading the Wild Card.
Talk about a turnaround? Though a don't really believe it just yet. My offense has certainly carried me, (6th in MLB Runs scored), even with Arenado out the past month and another to come. But my pitching is still and issue, as we still sit 28th in the MLB ERA.
With a month before the deadline, if I stay steady in the playoff race, I could trade a prospect for a talented started to bolster my rotation, but if i slip, i could trade some big pieces (Lucroy, Cargo) for a big return. Big month ahead! Here's a look at my typical lineup and current rotation.

36 games since the last update. Overall it was good. But it sure didnt seem like it was going to be at times. Came into June at 27-25. With a week left in the month we were 35-37 and had lost 10 of our last 14 games and were fresh off getting swept by the Cubs at home. Things turned around there though as we took 2 of 3 from Philly then went on the road and swept the indians to end the month. We continued that into July taking 2 of 3 from the White Sox and Dodgers and taking 3 of 4 from Pittsburgh to end the 1st half of the season. We are now 11-3 in our last 14 and sit at 47-41 overall. 1st place in the Central with a 1.5 game lead over the Cubs.

Lets start with Pitching this time cause man has it been pretty good. Starters have anyway. We are 26th in ERA at 3.95, 18th in Complete Games with 7, 18th in Shutouts with 6, 21st in Home Runs Allowed with 84, 25th in walks with 300 and 4th in Strikeouts with 740. Josh Johnson had a 5.65 ERA coming into June and Mike Fiers was at 6.14. Taylor Jungman had just replaced Wily Peralta and Jimm Nelson was struggling.

In 7 starts since then Johnson is 3-3 with a 2.24 ERA in 52.1 IP with 43 K's to 17 walks. He went 7 innings twice, 8 innings once and threw 2 complete games 1 was a shut out. He is now 5-6 with a 3.78 ERA on the year.

Fiers has had 8 starts since then. He is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA. 52.2 IP with 44 K's to 15 walks with a 0.87 WHIP. If you take out his first start in June. He has a 0.97 ERA in 46.1 IP. He is now 6-5 with a 3.82 ERA on the year.

Jungman has had 7 starts. He is 2-1 with a 3.73 ERA in 41 IP. He is 4-1 with a 3.24 ERA overall. Cant ask for much more form him. A lot better than Peralta was.

Garza is 3-2 in 7 starts. 3.67 ERA with 41 K's. Take out 1 bad game in June and he has a 2.70 ERA. And he has even been better is last 3 starts. 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA going 7, 8 and 9 innings.

Nelson has continued to be crap. 6.20 ERA since June. Hasnt done anything to look remotely good.

Bullpen is below AVG i would say. Kintzler and Strong didnt work out at all. Both got sent back to AAA. Tyler Thornburg came off the DL and took over one spot and we resigned Neal Cotts after releasing him at the end of ST. So far he is 1-1 in 9 IP. No ER allowed. Corey Knebel is still going strong. 24 saves. 0.99 ERA in 27.1 IP, 13.83 K/9. No blown saves since game 1 of the season. K-Rod has a 2.34 ERA in 42.1 IP. 60 K's to just 11 walks. Nice comeback for him after a terrible 2015. Everyone else is over 3.60 ERA.

Offense is about the same. We are 1st in AVG at .275, 3rd in Runs with 404, 3rd in Doubles with 178, 2nd in Triples with 32, 25th in Home Runs with 66, 9th in Stolen Bases with 62, 14th in Walks with 278, 5th in Sluggin % at .416 and 2nd In OBP at .336.

Gerardo Parra has had a pretty bad stretch. He hit .431/.490/.642 in 95 At Bats with 6 Doubles, 4 Triples, 2 HR and 17 RBI in May. The last 36 games he has hit .221/.286/.420 in 131 At Bats with 8 Doubles, No Triples, 6 HR and 19 RBI. He has been really streaky. Looked alright the first 14 games of June hitting .277/.371/.611 with 5 HR. But the last 12 games of the month he hit .104/.122/.229. And now through the 10 games in July he is back to looking good, hitting .310/.375/.448. All together he is hitting .297/.357/.484 with 10 HR and 44 RBI.

Jean Segura leads the team in AVG at .303. Unfortunately he tore his calf in the last game before the break. So he is out 1-2 months. Scooter Gennett leads the team in Hits with 107, Carlos Gomez leads the team in Doubles and Triples with 30 and 7, Braun leads in Home Runs with 12 and Adam Lind leads in RBI with 57.

In The Minors

Jorge Lopez continues to put up a low ERA despite the high WHIP. He is 5-0 with a 2.32 ERA in 100.2 IP. Brent Sutter is 8-7 with a 3.08 ERA, Tyler Wagner 5-4 with a 3.11 ERA. Hobbs Johnson has 8 starts in AA. He is 7-0 with a 1.74 ERA in 57 IP. AA Rotation is really good right now. All guys with an ERA under 3.33. 4 of the 5 under 2.83.

Jake Gatewood is hitting .299/.358./402 in 97 at bats. Bryan Peterson .277/.387/.410 with 7 HR in 310 at bats. Nick Ramirez .297/.377/.457 with 5 HR in 138 at bats.

Around The League

Angels are killing everyone. 63-28 to lead the AL. Won 10 in a row and have an 18 game lead. Nationals lead the NL at 54-35. 9 games up on the Mets.

Braves, Phillies, Astros, White Sox and Mariners are out of the playoff race already. Marlins, Rays and Orioles are probably out as well but still have a slim chance. NL Central once again looks like its going to be the mos exciting division down the stretch. All teams within 6 games. 4 of the 5 within 3.

MLB Leaders are A.J. Pollock (.330) and Joe Mauer (.341) in AVG, Paul Goldschmidt (22) and Miguel Cabrera (26) in HR, Giancarlo Stanton (65) and Mike Trout (72) in RBI, Kris Bryant (.966) and Cabrera (1.046) in OPS.

Pressure mounts for the Marlins to make a move as the team is limping into the end of June.

The latest blow was a sweep at the hand of one of the worst teams in the league, the Mets, and at home.

As feared, the lineup has lost it's punch with two of the three losses being largely the result of a lack of offense. Stanton is looking like he's falling back into his slump and there's not much help anywhere else in the lineup.

Chris Davis is one of the few trying to keep it going. He hit 2 home runs in a losing cause in game three of the series, a game the Marlins lost 5-4.

Bullpen woes have been a problem as well. Dominic Leone has stumped Marlins personnel as to why he's struggling so badly this year and in a production swoon after posting a promising 2.80-ish ERA a couple seasons ago. This year, he's doubled that at 5.70 and has been optioned to AAA as a result.

The ill-timed sweep pulls the Nationals back to 2 1/2 games out after falling to 4 1/2 games out not too long ago. The Phillies and Braves are in striking distance as well, five and six games back, respectively.

We have about 5 weeks left in the year and we are 6 games behind the Reds/Pirates and 10 1/2 out of wildcard. We have completely fallen apart. I did trade Holiday to the Yankees for prospects as we traded for Oswaldo Arcia at the deadline, so I want to get him everyday at-bats to see if he's worth keeping on the team and if he fits into our lineup.

So frustrating, but keep thinking we have 12 games left against the Reds and Pirates combined, so we still have a chance of getting ourselves back into the race.

Finished off probably the most fun series I've ever had in all my years of videogame baseball.

Late July, 2015. My Braves welcome the Dodgers to Turner Field. The Dodgers have the best records in the majors at 62-32; my Braves are next at 59-33. Even though it was just July, it felt like a playoff series.

First Game
We're facing McCarthy, who's an absurd 11-1 with a 1.81 ERA this season. We've got Miller going, so it's a good matchup. Scoreless through five, we finally push across an unearned run in the sixth to take a 1-0 lead.

Miller continues to cruise in the 7th, before giving up a two-out double to Grandal. We intentionally walk Rollins to get to the pitcher, hoping to get McCarthy out of there. Our ploy worked, but then it backfired as Uribe launched a pinch-hit three-run homer.

We battle back in the 8th. Freeman hit a two-run double to cap a three-run rally and give us a 4-3 lead going to the 9th. With Kimbrel waiting, we're feeling pretty good. Ethier hits a leadoff double, but Kimbrel gets the next two outs as Ethier only makes it to third. But Rollins hits a game-tying single, and two more singles later the Dodgers have the lead and eventual win, 5-4.

Second Game
The game where we figured to have our best chance to win, since LA was throwing Anderson. Folty, who's had a strong rookie season for us, worked his way in and out of trouble all night. But the Dodgers took a 4-2 win.

Third Game
We didn't want to get swept on our home field, but the task was tough. The Dodgers had the game's best pitcher, Kershaw (12-1, 2.44) going while we had Wandy Rodriguez. Rodriguez was making just his second start of the season after stepping in for the traded Alex Wood.

Lorenzo Cain (acquired in the Wood trade over the All-Star break) hit a two-run homer in the first as we took a stunning 3-0 lead. But the pesky Dodgers battled back and led 4-3 going to the bottom of the fourth. Gomes homered to tie it, and both starters were gone after six.

The Dodgers pushed across two in the 7th, but Cain doubled home a run and then scored on a Chris Johnson groundout to tie it. Johnson had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th, but couldn't come through, so to extras we went.

Cain led off the bottom of the 12th by getting hit by a pitch. Then he stole second. Freeman crushed a pitch into the right-field corner to bring Cain home and Braves salvaged the final game 7-6.

Mid-May in my Tigers franchise. I am currently 21-21. My pitching has been better of late although my bullpen has had some bad moments.

Victor Martinez has picked it up lately as well as Anibal Sanchez. Sanchez started 0-4 and is now 3-4 on the year.

Steven Moya broke out of a 1-29 slump and has been 11-27 the last 10 games.

Signed a couple of guys to bring up later in the year or in 2016. Signed Shohei Otani and 2B Jose Miguel Fernandez. Both are B potential. Fernandez is 26 with a 76 overall rating and Otani is 19 with a 64 overall rating.

3 more games against Houston before I head to Oakland.

Thought I would jump into this for the first time.

Started a brand new franchise and for the first time not with my Nationals. Who do you ask could lure me away? Well the Padres made me an offer I could not refuse.

Opening day of 2015 and I have to face Kershaw at home....maybe I did not think this thru.

So Kerhsaw hands me my butt through the first 7 as I manage to only get two singles off of him and he strikes me out 8 times.

But I had a plan!

Patience at the plate. Make him thow as many pitches as I could to get me out. The 8th inning paid off Kershaw was taken out having thrown almost 90 pitches and I had kept the score close a 0-2. Top of the order up with a reliever in, yes they start to move. Single with the first hitter, Myers hits a double down the line but Puig was set up and keeps the lead runner at third, Kemp nails the gap for another double and the game is tied 2-2. Upton steps up and smokes another off the wall and the Padres take the lead 3-2.

I pull Shields for Benoit who shuts them down in the bottom half of the 8th. Then I bring in Kimbrel! 12 pitches = 3 k's and the Padres take opening day on the road against the Dogders!!!!! What a way to start the year.

Man I have not had that much fun in a while.

Now the work begins. I want to really rebuild the Padres. So I am going to trade away all the big salaries for younger, cheaper talent. Maybe if I can free up some salary go after a true Ace for my Pitching staff and some hot young All Star to build my defense around.
