graphics wise yes without a doubt.. gameplay seem similar to 14 but improved(if that makes sense) but i would say worth every penny

Re: Now that you played both 14 and 15, was it worth it?
The best part of the Show is every year it gets better. And it gets better through developing on the core gameplay rather than trying to introduce some gimmick. It's amazing to think that over the 10 years the game has went in a positive direction. It drives me crazy when I see people talk about it getting stale. Let's face it they have certain parameters to work in, the game of baseball, if the game plays great then they are going to develop on what is working and make it better. They are not far away from being just about perfect, I'd like to see a generic announcing team that could cut a bunch of new dialog every year, some better overly stats, and someway to recreate prior years with old stadiums, players, and schedules. Otherwise I can't think of what else this game lacks. Sorry to ramble on, but whatever year you get you'll be happy with the game (I've never sold back a version)Comment

There's literally only one thing I want to see changed in a patch (or at all), and that's bunting.
Other than that I am in paradise. By far the most satisfying year to-date.Comment

I'd like to add Post game highlights (which I think Ramone said was fixed) and Quick Counts in Show Live games.Comment

Re: Now that you played both 14 and 15, was it worth it?
I had so much fun playing 14 that I continued to do so up to the release of 15, but something has changed and I am finding the new game to be so damn hard to enjoy as it has been a nightmare for me.
Now that they changed the analog controls I'm finding it impossible to hit with any consistency which may also have something to do with the timing window which seems to have gotten so ridiculously small. And on the rare occasions I'm able to have good timing all I do is pop the ball in the air for an out.
The issue with the CPU answering scores which I thought was BS is starting to rear its ugly head for me too as anytime I can muster a run or two in an inning I can be assured it will be answered next inning. I try to paint the corners and throw waste pitches when I'm ahead knowing the CPU will just hammer anything in the zone (it doesn't even have to be a bad pitch) but they refuse to swing at anything not a strike which leaves me wondering what the hell it is I can do otherwise.
This game is starting to give me NBA2K levels of frustration (I won't buy that game again) and it's really sad as I used to absolutely love it.Comment

A statement like this makes me scratch my head in puzzlement. I only ever play season mode. Twice in 8 games in my Pirates season I have had to restart games because of game freezes triggered by onfield gameplay. If you go to the bugs thread you will see that many, many people have reported these game-breaking freezes. So why do you and many others say that the game runs smoother than ever this year? We all have the same software, don't we??? I agree that overall the game is better than ever this year but for me it has become unplayable until a patch fixes the onfield gameplay freeze issues.Comment

Re: Now that you played both 14 and 15, was it worth it?
I could never ever go back to 14. For the first time ever I was disappointed in a show game last year. 14 looks just about the same as 13 did on ps3 and took a step back game play wise in some ways. This year is much much better. The graphics are much better still not at NBA 2k level but lot better then last year. Hit verity is better. For the first time ever the CPU doesn't pound the strike zone over and over again. The CPU makes errors to. In the past I would make like 3 times has many errors as the CPU. The crowed looks better. The CPU is not making a million diving jumping catches a game like last year when ever one played like they had a gold glove. The game plays better then it ever has out of the box. The game has always played at like 60 FPS even on PS3 but last year the cut scenes where like 20 FPS a lot of times. This year cut scenes are a lot more smooth.Last edited by Smallville102001; 04-14-2015, 01:00 AM.Comment

Re: Now that you played both 14 and 15, was it worth it?
Kind of a mixed bag for me. 15 is better graphically, and I think hitting being harder is a good thing. However, there are some things I find better in 14, such as pitch info and batter tendencies being better accessed.
I'm not so sure I like this new progression based on performance feature. Trout losing power attributes after two games is not something I understand. Surprisingly, Trout at this point, after five games, seems very much like the Trout in 14, basically a singles hitter, and hitting into more double plays in five games than he did all last year in real baseball. Funny thing is, Ethier has more hot zones against RHP than Trout.
Was it worth it? Well, I could be just as happy with 14 and current roster.Comment

I agree with that statement. Some design choices yet again are questionable.
But as an overall package (and after a nice patch forth coming to clean up some obvious bugs and hiccups) this is hands down, and it is not even close, the very best sports game I have ever played.
It is truly remarkable. SCEA and the team a huge standing:

Re: Now that you played both 14 and 15, was it worth it?
I would take 14 with just the graphical improvements and a roster update. I too miss not having the touch pad show batting/pitching information. I always liked being able to see my own tendencies so I knew how to adapt. I also miss the brief breaks between pitches/swings; in 15, it no longer shows things like the catcher throwing the ball to the pitcher or the pitcher getting set on the mound.Comment
