This is why I switched. Too many times last year I'd get stuck in an animation and let a ball get by me. And yeah, it definitely helped the blood pressure switching to auto.

I'm surprised by the ratio. I don't understand the mindset of watching a game field for you (or run for that matter), I like to control all parts of the gameplay. I think fielding is pretty fun and works good. I understand baserunning can be frustrating sometimes and people wouldn't want to deal with that, but fielding never seemed that big of a deal.

The Show is the only baseball game I own in which I use manual fielding. If I remember correctly, it's because MLB 2005 only had two options, auto and manual. The auto fielding meant that throwing was also automatic, so I was forced to use manual.

Even when I go back and play all my old games, 3D Baseball, Triple Play/MVP, ASB, and PS1 MLB, I always use auto fielding.

I said it before and I will say it again. I find the pitcher/batter battle the main point of the game.

As a pitcher, if a batter makes contact with my pitch all I can do is hope my fielder handles it.

As a batter it is not my job to tell the other base runners to advance or not.

Add to that the fact that it sometimes takes some quick controller gymnastics that I am just not very good at.

Now I have a franchise where I player lock a different position every game. I handle everything as that player. In RTTS I hit, run and field my opportunities.

Analog fielding all day, everyday for me.

Oh good ole Triple Play/MVP series. I absolutely love The Show and wouldn't want any other baseball game, but I sure do miss that EA series. There was just something about when you were playing it as a kid. I especially enjoyed the MVP College game they made for some reason, lol. I think it was because that one had the ability to design your own stadium I believe.

I do auto fielding, because I felt fielding in the past was difficult at times. I also enjoy the smoothness of auto fielding and manual throwing. This year though, fielding is pretty fun, so I don't know. I'll figure it out soon before I start my franchise tonight.

I used timed hitting and manual base running. Although I make some frustrating mistakes on the basepaths

Its a video game so I do manual everything. If I wanted to see action on the screen without my input. I turn to ESPN and watch a game

                    Auto Fielding, manual throwing here.

Too many calamities on manual fielding costing runs the CPU doesnt have to put up with, so i let the CPU field for us both and still throw so i still get the involvement.

Nice mix of ratings and user input

If you get satisfaction out of manipulating a small controller in your hands then more power to you.

I use auto fielding and auto throw decision. I just prefer to let the ratings dictate the result of balls hit into play than my own user input. I do use manual baserunning though.

                          How old is dirt?

In my defense I am also playing Bloodborne at the moment and will be starting GTA V on the PC tonight so I am not that ancient yet.

i use auto fielding, manual throwing. it's the only way i can play the game without the blue circle indicating the player with the ball. i'm a try to play like i see it on real tv guy, so this fits in well with my clean screen OCD nature. just waiting and hoping on a patch to get rid of the def. positioning notification that pops up every at bat it seems

So far, I'm enjoying the improvement of playing defense myself. I'm botching the occasional fly ball. Need more experience with the touch required to settle in after a long run.
