Re: Too Many "Pedro Martinez" Type Changeups?
Custom hitting cameras help tremendously.
When setting one up I suggest:
1. Tilt the camera slightly and move it too, so that you aren't looking straight at the pitch, and try to sort of simulate the angle a hitter would actually see the pitch. This helps pitch recognition.
2. Adjust the zoom and height so that pitches at the bottom of the zone actually look low. To put it another way if your camera is too high, it is very difficult to decipher low pitches, especially change ups.
3. Use all four slots for custom cameras, or at least multiple ones, and try different angles and different variations and combinations. Some of the preset ones make the pitcher appear closer or further away, and that makes a difference when choosing a camera as the base camera to begin with.Comment

Re: Too Many "Pedro Martinez" Type Changeups?
Guys I'm not trying to sound like a jerk when I said "just get better at hitting", but I think there is at least some truth in that statement.
I had a big problem with change-ups in this year's game. I have since made adjustments and now it's not problem, in fact most of it was in my head.
So, a pitcher in the game has a good change-up, but the pitcher in real MLB doesn't really have a change-up. SO WHAT. This isn't reality. It's a video game.
Sliders, Camera angles, Guess pitch, etc there are ways to help along with just practicing. I don't like when something is difficult and the fingers start pointing at it being someone else's fault, or THE GAME'S fault. Take it as a challenge, and try to beat it!JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

My problem is with the pitch edits. I can hit changeups fine like I can hit just about any pitch.
To everyone saying "get better" answer this for me. If this game gave Colby Lewis, Mark Buerhle or Collmenter a 101 mph fastball would everyone be okay with that? If you complain then obviously its because you cannot hit the heat and would have nothing to do with their pitch edits being way off, right?
This is a simulation and I want to experience a realistic MLB experience.Comment

Everyone is different, just this game revolves around realism, whether its from the likeness of the player to the gameplay, so that makes this one part of the game seem sort of....off.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: Too Many "Pedro Martinez" Type Changeups?
I have no problem hitting. Thay does not mean I will turn my head for every flaw in the game and pretend the game is perfect. This is something simple to fix and there really is no excuse. I am about realism and this is a sim. The pitch edits should not be this off.

I think Sony should make 2 versions of this game for 2016. Causal/amateur and Simulation, with all the goody stuff like Stride analog. Then we'll all be happyComment
