If the game keeps coming back and winning to the point you think there is a scripted or comeback code, then they make these neat things called sliders. Adjust it to your favor more. Seperate the sliders between HUM and CPU. Remember, this is a video games. To make it 100% sim is impossible. There are to many real world variables to ever get a game to make that happen. The game is designed to be fun. It is a game after all and why they make sliders. Everyone plays different. Everyone has different expectations. So make the game fun for YOU. The game is designed to challenge you. If it didnt, no one would play if they knew they could always beat the CPU. I can not honestly believe this is a topic and goes on each year and this many pages deep. I apologize, as I am not trying to offend anyone. This is just my thought on the matter. I had a issue of the game having to many close games. Instead of screaming comeback code, I am trying to resolve my issue with sliders. Something as simple as lowering my Foul Freq by 1 so far. Now I know there is going to be an adjustment of a few games or so, so I will play it out and see if anything changes. If it doesnt, then I will pick something else to try. It really is that simple.

Scripted Innings!
Every year, we get this thread in every type of sport games but yet isn't realism something we all cry for with every sports title? And what is a huge part of every sport? Momentum. In every game there is a moment or play that could turn the whole game around. It could be early on or it could be late in the game. In real life, How many times over the course of the season will we see the gold glove fielder make an error in which allowed the inning to continue then the pitcher gives up the game tying or go ahead hit? How many times during the course of a basketball season will you see the star shooter go cold when you need him the most? Or the star running back fumbles the ball or gets stuffed or the star receiver drops an easy touchdown catch in crucial moment of the game.
We want realism and these things are all apart of every sport in almost every game played.Comment

Re: Scripted Innings!
While I don't believe in the scripted inning/game theory, I do kind of think there's something to the late inning influence. Though not proof and there are many factors at play, for the fun of it here is my DD history of full 9 inning games compared to 2015 MLB stats.
MLB league avg of % of runs scored by inning (just innings 1-9):
LEAGUE 13% 10% 11% 12% 12% 12% 12% 10% 7%
Source: http://cleanuphitter.com/mlb/stats/m...ningrunsscored
Also, Beyond the Box Score did a good analysis of runs by inning too which showed higher scoring in inning 1 and a large drop off in inning 9. source: http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/201...ries-by-inning
My DD stats (about 60ish games):
Runs by Inning 10% 12% 9% 11% 8% 12% 18% 10% 10%
Compared to MLB averages, my DD squad and my opponent both outpace the real MLB stats, specifically in the 7th and slightly in the 9th. If there was an easy way to download these quickly, I'd assume we could get a better sample. (I think a user with Nomo in his name had a script last year that could do this.) I don't usually play vs. the CPU so maybe someone else can grab their history vs. the CPU and see how that stacks up.Comment

Re: Scripted Innings!
I wonder how many people who claim that there are scripted innings in this game play with quick counts on. Quick counts is an awesome way to get a game in when you don't have a lot of time to play, but it's not the most realistic way to play.
Two-out rallies can be put together out of nowhere. You can be cruising along and a few 3-ball counts are generated. A few close pitches later and you've given up a couple of walks and a double. Boom! Two runs in and they're in position to score another. That all happened on just 3 pitches and you're like, "what the **** just happened?"
Now your pitcher is rattled and can't seem to find the strike zone and when he does, they're up in the zone begging to be hit into the second deck.
Meanwhile, your middle of the order hitters start getting several 2 strike counts and you constantly have to battle up hill against a mediocre reliever, and when you hit that hanging change up on the nose, it's a hard out right at a fielder, or it gets mashed off the opposing pitcher's chest. Score that 1-5-3!
I mean, I understand how one could think that the game is scripted if they play with quick counts turned on, but that's just the nature of that mode. Things can turn around in the blink of an eye. Seriously, playing quick counts is the baseball equivalent to losing a no-hitter and the lead on the very same pitch.
(I'm only aiming this post to those who claim scripted innings exist and also play with quick counts turned on... it's just something to think about if you play this way in The Show).Last edited by WarningTrackPower; 01-01-2016, 06:22 PM.Comment

I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: Scripted Innings!
This is my 4th year playing the game and when time permits not only do I play my games but I also play a lot of CPU vs CPU games and I have seen a lot of innings with a lot of different results. Are there comebacks in MLB The Show? Yes, of course there are. But that is the nature of the game. I don't think MLB The Show is scripted. Baseball is just a quirky game where one day you clobber a team and the next day they turn around a clobber you. Then on the 3rd day, it is often a completely different sometimes close, sometimes not so close game. Remember in the majors the worst team in the league is still almost guaranteed to win 1/3 of their games while the best team in the league almost always losses 1/3 of their games. It's that final 1/3 of the games that determines who makes the playoffs and who doesn't.Comment

Re: Scripted Innings!
Nomo needs to run some tests! He did a test a few years back and he did get a trend of teams scoring alot in the 7th inning. It was cpu vs cpu though.

Re: Scripted Innings!
Yes I remember him saying this. But he also mention that around the 6th or 7th inning new relievers (often the lesser talented middle relievers) are entering the game and/or the starters who are still in the game are getting tired and are susceptible to the big inning.Comment

Re: Scripted Innings!
Looks like...shaky 1st innings by SP....settling down....then SP losing it at 5....then the "not so good" RP in the 6th. From there...it follows the 7th/8th/closer formula that most teams seem to follow.

Also have to consider the top of the order going through the first inning, then perhaps cycling back around the top in the 3rd inning (which explains more of a second inning demise).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
