I think it's pretty simple to interpret.

Great fielders will take better routes. Poor fielders will not. So ratings will matter even more with fielding success and they took the first step in 15 with that.

Glad it will be even more improved and be even more varied on 16!!!

Fielders already took great routes. It's one of the reasons gamers complain about the lack of doubles and triples.

If it's that fielders won't take those good routes, that means the programming is purposely making players field poorly which is fine for poor fielders. I welcome that.

If that's the case, why is it called better routes?

Two questions about feature changes and one (sort of humorous) comment about the stream.

Question #1: I understand the DEVs have changed the base leading and pick offs to first base feature. This is good, I think. But will this feature change make it's way into the MoM games and CPU vs CPU games?

Question #2: They also mentioned they are re-working some aspects of bunting. I'd actually be surprised if they fixed a certain bunting flaw in MoM games as the way they described the bunting changes, the two sound different. But the bunting flaw that is in the MoM games has been there for years and it is rather annoying. Basically when you call for a bunt in MoM game, the batter will attempt to bunt the ball no matter how far the pitch is out of the strike zone. This doesn't happen to the CPU teams, just the team you are managing in MoM games. So was this fixed?

Okay on to the somewhat humorous comment. At one point during the stream the game crashed. Nick Livingston was trying to explain what happened, that it wasn't really a crash, it was just an assert statement that was thrown when he was somewhat rudely cutoff by the other guy (sorry forget his name) and this other guy was saying "people don't want to hear this" and I was like "no I do want to hear it". But I am myself a software developer currently working on a commercial auto insurance app so I am interested in this sort of thing. I'd like to know how much of the MLB The Show code is common code across many different modes (clearly some of the code is common across all game modes) and how much of the code is specific to a specific mode of play (once again clearly this also happens as the bunting flaw or pick offs at first base flaws mentioned above would not exist in MoM games if they were common code). Anyway Nick appeared to be frustrated when he got cut off. But I was with you Nick, I was listening to what you were saying.

Yea, the whole stream they were constantly cutting each other off and trying talking over each other. I found it annoying and kind of unprofessional. But normally they do a really good job with the stream and give very good info and tidbits on the dev process. Looking forward to today's stream.

Actually in the game currently the system rewards the user for taking the correct route. If you were to pull off those two examples above, the second one will yield a far better animation transition that will allow you to get the ball off quicker and more accurately.

You might be right, animation-wise at least. Not sure if momentum plays into it yet.

The bigger point was that the CPU didn't make the rounded routes before, so if they do now, then that will be a plus. Here's to hoping they can do more with it in the future.

It is being marketed as realistic routes. Which to me is introducing more of a human element in how they interpret a hit. The CPU always tended to play too perfect giving up on balls too early and setting up for the perfect carom etc. It sounds like there was some imperfection programmed into the mix.

We saw them talk about how the Human IK Engine helps prevent the sliding feet issue with pitchers, but does it also help with the sliding feet with batters in the box?

I don't think we will see the final build of the stadiums until they introduce PBR in the graphics stream. Any stadiums they show at this point are probably to show off other additions (dirt infields, retractable roofs etc.)

They are worn on Sunday home games only. The Show has limited uniform slots that they said aren't changing. The mariners other 2 alts are worn more regularly and probably wont be replaced with a jersey worn on specific dates.
