As long as you can still choose weather it would work. They said weather was random this year but I'm sure you could still manually pick what you want. Only thing is you wouldn't get the great looking sun light effects coming through the windows during day games.

I really do wonder if rain is the only thing that closes the roof. The Rogers Centre, for example, is basically mandated closed until mid-May based on temperature. Was the reason it was closed during the playoffs last year as well. Has to be around 60-65 degrees before they'll open it.

I love all of this freaking out over something that hasn't even been revealed thoroughly. Relax people, I'm sure SCEA didn't just throw the closed roofs in there without thinking about the weather and temps and when it should be closed. I honestly like not being able to chose if it's closed or open and having the weather be the determining factor.

I'm sure it will be revealed more during the Franchise Twitch stream.

Yes, because simply stating a preferred preference on a forum is the exact definition of freaking out....

After years of playing The Show some of us know how the weather has worked for years. The temperatures have always been an issue. When the Twins moved from the Metrodome to Target Field the temperature was never changed. As of last year the standard temp when you play at Target field is 70-something. So concerns about the temperatures are valid.

I just think some are jumping to conclusions without any information on the subject at all. Of course this is "Forum life".

No one is really jumping to a conclusion. We know what has been said about not being given the option to play with open or closed roofs. We know how the weather has been in the past. Even if they have fixed the weather wanting the option isn't and outlandish request or opinion. Not sure why its created such a back and forth.

I find it odd that there aren't two choices when choosing the stadium to play in for those with roofs.
It would seem logical that there are one of each....open Rogers...closed Rogers.
Maybe they could let you choose that way....by choosing which stadium(which you can do now)....by listing both.

Yea, that's the way I imagine it was built. That they basically built another version of those stadiums. So when you choose you are in essence you are choosing one or the other. If it did work that way then for the closed version would have the weather options disabled.

That's how I thought it'd be when we first heard about the feature.

I disagree completely with this. I'm pretty sure it is common knowledge at this point that the preferred method is to close your eyes and scroll, not to avert your eyes away from the TV (either by looking away OR by turning your head). You're doing it all wrong. It is theorized that your enjoyment of MLB The Show will increase by 6-8% if you switch and use the "close your eyes and scroll to the count of 5" when selecting weather in franchise mode games.

So, the temperature will have an effect on weather the roof is open or closed. Adding more confusion though, Russel mentioned that you can over-ride and chose to close the roof after saying earlier in the stream that it would be decided for you.

I'm thinking it means it will show either opened or closed, on the screen where you choose the weather. And you can choose to go along with that suggestion, or change it if you want.

                            Which is great news.

I'm just hoping that they've removed the automatic long sleeves that would last through May in past years, with my Red Sox franchise. And I hope they actually have accurate weather. Guys, it gets HOT in Boston in the summer! March average is probably around 55-60, April average is probably around 65, May average is probably around 70-75, and June - August average is probably around 85.
