    Re: Online Franchise

I am just going to give my thoughts here and everyone can take it however they choose.

I have ran leagues since 2007 now what we call online franchise and it was first on XBOX 360. What we have these days is a million times better than what we had then.

    * We only had 25 players per team.

    * No schedule - I logged into the 2k league site they had a drop down menu for admins and me and a friend enter in the entire schedule from using this drop down list option.

    * There were no free agent options - although I was friends with 2kRonnie who set me up with my own free agent tab for my league.

    * There was no option to use custom rosters.

    * you could only play 1 season then you had to create another for second season..

My point is you guys really should appreciate what we do have. When I came onto the scene in 2012 the ONLINE LEAGUE was very basic with the following.

    * Random Schedule.

    * You could only play 1 game home then 1 game away there was no real life schedule.

    * There was no player search in all game modes.

    * It was only 40 man rosters not the full 90 man we have now.

This is just a few things, I am sure I could go on and on of whats been added since 2012.

Now I have been irritated and frustrated just like everyone else during some rough years us online guys have had to deal with. One of my biggest complaints I had and some of you never thought it was a big deal but when they made online FAST PLAY only. I made a thread last year and went on and on about it as I felt it should be an option for a user to have since we pay $60 for it instead of not having a choice at all. To make a long story short they listen and have brought back at least an option to choose presentation online. I myself never been a button smasher and skip through cut scenes.

I have made online franchises and injuries work a few games then disappear, but there are solutions to small things like this. I know we shouldn't half to have work arounds but they are there and available.

Last year at launch it still had the previous years schedule, but they listen to us and fixed that adding in 2016 schedule. I think the year before that every game was opening day and when you pinch hit or pinch run it never showed you who it was coming in the game, but in MLB 16 for the most part this stuff was fixed.

Remember MLB 15 I believe it was all the error codes and blue screens? We all lived through that and survived it. They fixed 99.9% of that and to me that was very irritating verse some of these minor glaring issues that have gone untouched.

I never had any issues with getting a game invite, games not syncing, games not resetting or games not advancing. I know the online franchise inside and out and I have said it before it has a lot to do with how you guys are setting up your franchises. For example I would not recommend open schedule that's the #1 issue with games not syncing in these type leagues You half to monitor if the game was complete or any missing games not played will prevent you from getting into the post season.

With a starting pitcher pitching most or almost each game is because a teams roster has a EMPTY slot in the rotation this is an easy fix. You also half to go through all the teams and make sure they look like this. When you upload a roster to a online franchise it goes by overall ratings so if you had a roster offline you made several changes to rotations, lineups etc they will not be the same once you upload this roster to your online franchise again it will set rosters by overall. This will then make some teams out of order when they should look like this.

    MLB - 25
    AAA - 25
    AA - 25
    A - 15

Finally I am not defending anyone trust me I had my beef with them and have been frustrated the way online franchise direction has gone, but I rather have this version of a online franchise to play versus them removing the mode and we have nothing at all and be forced to play regular lobby games with no schedule or stat tracking etc.

Yes online franchise has gone untouched a couple of years and sure it could be better but it is not as bad as some people make it out to be.

I don't think anyone is saying forget this mode... what we are saying is that to go completely untouched (holding hope that bugs were fixed) is a slap to the face to many. When we spoken to them directly and told them about all these issues.

That's our main concern... you don't see many here saying we want everything that's in the Offline Franchise. We just want the leftovers and a working mode.

How playable is a mode when your DH doesn't even sim? That takes away the advantage of having a AL team.

Stuff like that is what drives us crazy, on how a company that wants to be the best continues to roll out a mode that is broken like that.

I'm a huge baseball fan. But Mass Effect and NBA2k17 are taking 100% of my gameplay time now, no place for MLB since they refuse to even address the mode for another year. I can't play offline franchise anymore, it's just too boring.

Speaking to friends/fam in the game development world, they all tell me that it's not about the money in many cases.

It's more on the availability of the developer in charge of that mode.

I think there is just one guy who works on Franchise mode. So that tells you how much they are invested in the franchise mode. One guy can't do both online and offline, hopefully they give him someone who can assist.

The numbers excuse just backs up their point of "we are only having one guy working on this mode"

I do agree with some points made here, we play every single game and in order with 0 issues. We don't sim any games.

I do agree and think its unfair that since it's mentioned that a certain % recorded are not playing this mode much when I know for a fact there is a lot of us out here that enjoy online franchise games with another human opponent versus playing the CPU, Play Now, Exhibition or even franchise.

It will be said numbers don't lie, but I still think there is a good fan base that do still play this mode and probably would be more if some of the things didn't go untouched.

I think some of us should keep an open mind because some online stuff can be fixed and addressed and it doesn't take having to wait for a new game to come out they can fix online stuff from there end, servers etc. The bottom line is if they have the resources but more or less the time to do it.

Again the mode is not horrible that it needs it needs be completely revamped an start from scratch. The mode is stable I think just need to be built upon even if its just 10-20% each year the game comes out. Don't fix what isn't broken and yes I do believe this mode isn't broken. I think they need a individual to monitor the online leagues and put the time, effort and support that goes into Diamond Dynasty.

This is how many games played in franchise Vs. Online Franchise that it shows for me. It doesn't look all that far part to me there is actually quiet a few people that play this mode.

                  447,973 Online Franchise.

                  752,559 Offline Franchise.

                  304, 586 Difference.

I wonder if that's games played or the number of people who played the mode? Because I feel like they said about 7 million games were played offline and 400,000 franchise games were played online, kind of confusing as it doesn't necessarily say.

Offline was 7Million, not 700K. So there was quite a few more playing offline Franchise.

If you have a PSN friend that has MLB The Show and they are playing offline Franchise, it'll tell you what they are playing. Even the score and inning. I'm sure they have access to that data.

Now, if you don't have your PS4 connected to PSN I'm sure those don't get counted. But I'd imagine there are only a vey few of those.

Those numbers are your individual experience points that you've gained in each of those modes as far as I know. They have nothing to do with anyone else but you and it's not an amount of games.

I may be misunderstanding what you were saying in your post though.

Now, if you don't have your PS4 connected to PSN I'm sure those don't get counted. But I'd imagine there are only a vey few of those.

Those 700k could be users, not games. Who knows lol.
