Again, the offline guys can come in here and say things about why it gets no love, and the devs can give us #'s. But what most don't understand (dev's and offline guys who look at us OF'ers often as a annoyance) is the unbelievably long list of issues.

We all have said this or that does not work etc... but if we actually came up with a full list of the issues in the mode I think most would be surprised and maybe start to understand our end of things.

So this # game people throw out is BS on my end and not a good excuse. Mode hasn't worked since day 1 in March of 2014. That's the real issue why the #'s are low.
As a strictly offline player I apologize on behalf of anyone who snubs their nose at online players as is completely inappropriate and is the type of white knighting that we don't welcome on this site.

I'm sorry the way you guys want to play wasn't touched this year and I really hope there is something in it for you guys this year or in the near future.

I do genuinely feel bad for the group of players that want to play online franchise so badly.

I also agree that we should stop throwing out arbitrary estimated numbers.

      Re: Online Franchise

I'm not sure if I was snubbing my nose at the online franchise folks or was being a white knight either. If I was I didn't intend for my posts to come off like that. I was just saying why I imagine online franchise wasn't worked on again. And I think it does suck that the online franchise crowd doesn't get any love. I also fully understand why SDS wouldn't want to invest any resources into the game mode with such a small player base.

        Re: Online Franchise

Reasons why I play Online Franchise is to have fun with my friends who live in different states.

Own a team and test our baseball skills and team building skills.

But it not being touched is a big let down for a brand that strived to make the best for all types of players... Online Franchise players are a group of players that keeps being ignored.

What sucks the most is that we can't go and buy another current baseball game to test. We are stuck to just like this type of bugged online play.

This is why no matter the knock on other sports games, many of them work harder to ensure that every mode is fully playable.

Just a big let down today, since that's the reason why I honestly buy the game.

I'll play 1 or 2 games online, most of my games are franchise and Road to the show, I barely touch online and know a lot of others who don't touch either

The first month the game came out people would go into online franchise and see Challenge Failed about every game. It's not exactly surprising they just gave up on the mode. The numbers are very misleading, and for them to kinda say well nobody plays it is a big aggravating to me. Just shows that they aren't very aware of what's going on with their own game.

Really using numbers from a broken mode not touched in 3 years as a mean to justify is beyond frustrating

Absolutely. Some here are plain blind to see why the mode isn't getting more play. "400K" games played on such an unplayable mode just tells the story on the amount of sales this game collects. Surprising the dev team isn't much bigger. Greedy CEO? who knows and I shouldn't start any of that anyway.

The potential and possibillities of online franchise has me dreaming. I drool at the thought of free agency. Bidding against 29 other GM's for a player with your budget in consideration. You have 24 or more hours to place your bids and see who gets what...

Of course. It does t work and hasn't for 3 years. Do you think people are going to play it broken?

What a ****ing joke. So they string it along when at any point they could have popped into this thread to say that or said it during the franchise thread.

And don't give me that garbage numbers excuse. Give us a mode that actually works and see how many players you get. Not a mode that's equal in quality to offline, simply a mode that doesn't break. That's it. And if they're so short on time that they can't even spare time to make bug fixes than why not just scrap the mode altogether. I'd almost just prefer that than the insult of releasing the same broken mode 3 years in a row.

Chicken or the egg. How many folks play Madden CFM would be a more accurate measure.

Gents, if you haven't played OOTP in an online league (or solo), you won't regret it; quit chasing after that overrated girl who isn't worth the effort, and find a real woman.

Uhhh he's referring specifically to the Online Franchise aspect of the game.

I gurantee if they made it parallel to Offline (Madden) the numbers would change significantly. Easier said then done, but it'd make actually big difference.

Everyone seems to think all these people wanting to play OF are in 15-30 team leagues. But what about the 2 buddies who want to play in the same franchise?

That's where madden excels actually why more online connected franchises are started then offline.

All really valid points right here! I mean like said above, 2 players can combine for 1,000 OF games during a cycle, my buddies and I (eric7064 included) played in a franchise with 4 of us, one of us would always be behind but all together we played 9 seasons, at least a game a series, I'm not going to do the math but that's a lot of games.

I honestly would like to know how many man-hours and money it would take to just address some of the bugs we run into/affect us the most, like to tinker with coding to have it represent the coding offline in regards to player stamina, injuires and what not. I'm not a dev but I feel like it wouldn't take too much.

To sit behind a wall of numbers and say this is why we aren't tinkering with a mode is not satisfying enough for us who was the mode to excel, we're apart of the community too, a lot of us are involved quite a bit on the forums and are apart of show nation, hopefully we get some love in the future and our voices are heard!
