Mine did not autodownload while in rest mode even though I checked and made sure all the settings were correct since I knew I wouldn't be home in time tonight. I had to turn my PS4 on out of rest mode and it started right away.

Similar thing happened to me. PS 4 was in rest mode overnight. I got up at 5:00 AM Central Time to check on the download. It was in my "downloads" and when I clicked on it the download of the 6.152 GB began. After that the application data (42.623 GB) appeared in my downloads and automatically began. Right now one hour later, the 6 GB is completed and installed and the application data has download roughly 13 of the 42+ GB. It says three hours left, but I bet it will only be half that time to complete.

So if you set your PS4 to rest mode, and it did not download overnight, turn it on, got to downloads under notifications, click on the first MLB The Show 16 download (happened to be the only one at the time) and the 6 GB will begin and then the 42 GB will automatically follow ... At least that was my experience.

I started my download around 1 or 2 pm CT. I figure for you guys who had your PS4 in rest mode, you must start the download before you put it in rest mode. Then, while it is in rest mode, it should download just fine. Presumably quicker than being on the dashboard. As for the extra content (depending on what version of the game you get), it will automatically be downloaded along with the game, with the exception of disc purchases.

Anyway, Tuesday (morning) can't come quick enough. It sucks that I have to work Monday night, but oh well.

I've contemplated soooo deeply on going digital but I really want that collectors case .. I gotta work Tuesday too which sucks but I did manage to talk my supervisor into letting me leave at 1 😜

For it to download automatically it needs to be set to turn on for automatic updates not just left in rest mode.

I had auto download on in rest mode...didn't work. Had to manually add it this morning. Gave me a few error messages then started downloading.

the 6 gig file was probably 0 day patch(i think) and the Avatars. they are actually kind of nice looking, though i was hoping for some themes this year =/

That's not the patch - it's the initial download needed to start up the game and get you into the exhibition game where you can only use 2 teams and one stadium. The rest of the game continues downloading after that (it will probably say "installing" in the game menus but since you're digital it's download progress). It'll make more sense once the game unlocks and people try to buy it digitally - we'll see the same complaints we always have about people being unable to access all the teams and modes after they "finished" downloading the game and they think it's just installing.

That said, you're better off not running a game (any game) while it's downloading - it does slow down the download speeds somewhat if you do that. Better to leave it idle or put it in rest mode.

I was afraid someone was gonna ask that with how I worded it...lol. The game's not unlocked until midnight Tuesday EST - you can't play it at all until then. Not the single exhibition, or the full game. If you've preloaded the game and finished the full download by then, you will be able to jump right into the full game at midnight.

I pre-ordered mine from Gamestop as well, but after seeing that I had 40 bucks in my PS wallet, and last year's being the 10th anniversary that was in a plastic box. I gladly canceled my pre-order, and went this route instead.

Can't wait till tomorrow night!

Yeah kind defeats the purpose of having that 6GB file hen 90% of people will preload this... anyhow digital is the best thing to do for sports gaemes saves storage space in shelves because hey MLB 15 would just gather dust, Im going to remove it once I have the right franchise rosters moved over to test if everything is ok!

The themes are not downloading..says error connecting to server? Anybody else have this issue?
