Anyways in a tight battle top of the ninth the Mariners decide to put down a suicide squeeze and the batter misses so this is a sure out. Well what happens? My catcher decides to start running behind home plate. I guess it was a glitch.

Had a similar thing happen to me tonight. Carter fielded a grounder and could have stepped on the bag. I'm hammering the circle button but he keeps jogging to the dugout.

I guess he forgot that a) it was a grounder, not a liner and b) he had to go to the bag and c) it would have been 2 outs, not 3.

Fortunately, it doesn't cost us, but wow. First time seeing anything like that.

All on auto fielding so no user error.

The Blue Jays finished April with a 15-11 record, good for second in the AL East. They have got solid production from Donaldson and Travis who both are hitting over 340 and Donaldson adding 7 HR and 15 RBI. Bautista has 6 homers and Encarnacion has 9 with both batting around .240. Tulo is hitting a miserable .179. Martin .249 with 4 homers and Pillar .229 with 2 homers and solid defence. Finally, Smoak was hitting .259, Guerrero .274 and Morse .289.

The Jays have run into injury problems. First, Stroman went down for 3 weeks. He is almost back and Gavin Floyd filled in nicely for him in the rotation. Saunders went down for 2-3 months and Guerrero has been hitting alright as the starting LF.

Lastly, Morse just broke his shin and is out 1-2 months. He was playing 1b against LHP and backing up both corner OF slots. To replace him, the Jays will try out Dominguez, Montero and Lake against LHP. First up is Dominguez due to his hot start at AAA.

The Jays have also lost Brown and Cecilliani in AAA which really hurts the depth. Depending on how the trio of replacements do for Morse the Jays may consider signing Alex Rios. It would cost him 4.4 mil on a 1 year deal and could play everyday with all of the injuries

The Jays also sent down Josh Thole to AAA after hitting .132 in April. Ryan Lavarnaway will corn up to the bigs after a hot start in AAA. He has one at bat so far and it was a double so the Jays will hope he plays well as the backup C. Next in line would either be Tony Sanchez or Wilkin Castillo (who can also play all infield positions). There has been no talks of any potential trades thus far although the Jays have been looking into backup C, 1B and OF players that could be targeted closer to the draft or All star game depending on how the year plays out.

I just finished up the first month of my MOM franchise with the Angels and I'm ecstatic with the results. We've played really well all month by going 18-6 through the first month and essentially outslugging almost every team we face. We have 3 out of the top 4 hitters in the AL according to batting average led by Kole Calhoun (.404), C.J. Cron (.366), and Mike Trout (.354). Pujols has also played well and leads the AL in RBI with 24. Simmons has played outstanding defense and has also matched last season's HR output in one month (4 HRs). Yunel Escobar and Carlos Perez can play better, but it so far hasn't made a huge difference.

On the mound, we've had mixed results. Our "ace" Garrett Richards is 1-1 with a 3.90 ERA, but we've had our backend of the rotation in Hector Santiago (1-0 4.07 ERA 0.99 WHIP 3.08 FIP) and Andrew Heaney (3-0 2.06 ERA) step up and deliver. The middle innings have been a rollercoaster with struggles by Joe Smith, but also domination from the likes of Fernando Salas and Cam Bedrosian. Once we reach the 9th, Huston Street has been lights out all year (10 saves 0.00 ERA).

Around the league, the Nationals and Cubs are tied with the best record in the league at 19-5 and Noah Syndergaard has been the best pitcher in the league (4-0 39.0 IP 0.23 ERA 0.51 WHIP).

Finally found a franchise I wanted to stick with for multiple seasons. I'm in season 2 of my Rockies franchise and it's been awesome so far. We struggled the 1st year going 72-90, but we rebounded and made the playoffs in season 2 with a record of 92-70. I was able to acquire a few more bats in Jose Bautista, Miguel Sano, and Chris Carter to bolster the lineup. Also traded for Chris Archer and Yordano Ventura to improve the pitching.

We faced the Mets in the 1st round and fell behind thanks to some spotty pitching by Chris Archer and Jon Gray. However, we played a lot better at home and had some dramatic finishes. We won Game 3 thanks to a game-winning 2 run HR by Bautista to win 5-4. We also took Game 4 after blowing a 4-1 lead thanks to a Nolan Arrenado RBI in the 11th inning. We jumped on Zach Wheeler early with Bautista and Carter hitting HR's early. Tyler Matzek pitched well in 6 innings and we held up to beat the Mets 6-2 to complete the 0-2 comeback.

Next we play the defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs. Should be a good one as Chris Archers faces off against Jake Arrieta.

Enter I ng July 1 on a 5 game winning streak. The Braves are 30-50. One game from the halfway point of the season. Freddie Freeman has been my best player hitting .299 with 20 hr's and 60 rbi's. My goal for the team is to win the 2nd half of the season and i will consider it a success.

Just a small update on my Rockies franchise.

Midway through May, I officially decided to DFA Charlie Blackmon. He is doing HORRIBLE and it's constantly going downhill. He was 1 for his last 20. And his ratings were dropping.

So, I DFA'd him and brought up Mike Tauchman from AAA. He was hitting .324 down there.

His first game came against Stephen Strasburg, and he hit a 2-run go ahead HR for his first major league HR. It ended up being the game winner.

Already producing for us.

MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Sooo I just played the craziest, frustrating, weird game I have ever played on the show. The Blue Jays had just taken 2-0 series lead against Texas coming off back to back shutouts by Estrada and Sanchez.

Game 3 was WILD. Dickey and Perez went back and forth. Dickey 8 innings of shutout ball and Perez allowed only a solo HR to Bautista in the 5th. The Jays were leading 1-0 and Osuna came in to close it out. After 2 easy outs, Moreland and Beltre singled. Choo up with 2 out and 2 strikes. He smacks one into the gap. Guerrero and Pillar both have a line to the ball. Pillar takes command and calls the ball. However, him and Guerrero run smack into each other and the ball drops. 2 runs score, 2-1 Rangers. Guerrero leads off the bottom of the 9th and gets even for that horrendous play by smacking a solo HR deep on the first pitch of the 9th. The game went to 18 INNINGS! This tied the longest game in Blue Jays history (and the longest I have ever played). Both teams had tons of chances to score, but it would come on a 2 run homer by Moreland, 4-2 Texas. Guess who leads off the bottom of 18? You guessed it Guerrero who smacks a solo shot to bring the Jays within 1. That's all they would get in the 4-3 loss. Wow.

The Jays new backup catcher Ryan Lavarnaway has gone 2/5 with 2 doubles and a walk in 6 plate appearance in his first two games. The Jays home he can keep that up. Waiver claim David Ross would be next in line if needed.

The Jays have a big question. What will they do with Troy Tulowitzki? He is hitting .172 with 5 homers and 7 RBI after the first month and a bit. He has struggled against lefties and righties and has been horrible with runners in scoring position. In the 18 inning game he had a man on third with 1 out twice and popped up to catcher, finishing 1/8.

Some are calling for a AAA stint, but it seems Toronto is willing to ride him out. Jays management has announced that he will get the next couple games off to clear his head. Ryan Goins will fill in at SS for the next couple games.

Marcus Stroman was activated from the DL and will make his first start in three weeks in game 4 against Texas. Aaron Loup was sent to AAA in a corresponding move because of Ernesto Frieri will stay up with the big club. He hasn't allowed a run in 6 innings since being called up while Loup was supporting a 5.54 ERA. Gavin Floyd will head back to the bullpen. It is yet to be announced if there will be anymore roster changes due to the 18 inning game leaving lots of tired arms and legs. However, it appears all 4 bench players will start in the finale.

Another 5 weeks down and we sit at 53-36 after going 19-15 in June and the first week of July. Including 10-5 against the division. Still have the best record in the AL and lead the White Sox by 10 games thanks to a complete collapse by them the last week.

Pitchnig wasn't nearly as good as it was in May. But I didnt expect it to be. Allowing 3.67 runs per game over the last 34. Danny Duffy is having his best season since 2014. He is 9-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 102.2 IP. Since June he is 3-1 with a 2.44 ERA in 44.1 IP. Ventura though has been even better since then. He is 3-0 with a 1.84 ERA in 39.2 IP over his last 6 starts. He is 6-3 with a 3.06 ERA in 100 IP on the season. Dillon Gee has pitched very well out of the pen and has taken Kyle Zimmers spot in the rotation. He had 15 IP without allowing a run out of the pen. And since being put back in the rotation he has allowed 1 run in 8.1 IP. Overall he is 3-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 42.2 IP. Mike Minor and Jordan Lyles both had 1 really bad start and its kind of inflated their numbers a bit. Since June 1st they are 4-5 with a 4.61 ERA in 82 IP. Take out Minors worst start (6 IP 9 ER) and Lyles worst start (2 IP 7 ER) and the ERA drops to 3.16 in 74 IP. Bullpen hasnt changed much. Wade Davis continues to be the best reliever in the game. 1.58 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in 45.2 IP. Herrera doing what he has done for basically his whole career. 2.60 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in 27.2 IP. And Luke Hochevar having a nice bounce back year with a 2.40 WHIP and 1.17 ERA in 30 IP. A step down you have Soria with a 3.86 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 42 IP. And then its all *** from there. Hudson 5.51 ERA, Kennedy 4.55 ERA and Medlen 4.60 ERA.

The offense has regressed a bit as well. But for now its still good enough to win. We have averaged 3.5 runs per game over the last 34 games. As a team we are hitting .260/.326/.414 (13th/14th/13th). Alex Gordon and Kendrys Morales are doing the best they can to keep the offense going. Gordon is hitting .294/.372/.472 with 12 HR and 45 RBI. Morales is hitting .296/.363/.463 with 13 HR and 40 RBI. Mike Moustakas is having his best power season. Leads the team and is 3rd in the AL with 19 HR. AVG could be higher as he is hitting .250/.340/.497. Lorenzo Cain leads the team in WAR like he has the last 3 years. Currently at 3.13 while hitting .289/.351/.429. Still only 3 HR and has 22 SB. Jackson Yates continues to improve after a slow start. Hitting .261/.355/.444 with 13 HR. 4th on the team in WAR at 2.55. And has 2 errors in 670.1 innings between 4 or 5 different positions. On the other end the rookies continue to struggle after a strong start. Mondesi's line has fallen to .229/.293/.358 with 2 HR in the last 2+ months after having 2 in April. Balbino is just as bad hitting .231/.284/.399 with 6 HR. 4 of those coming in April. Bubba not doing anything as the backup OF. Hitting just .175/.212/.287. Probably gonna send him back down soon.

In AAA, Jose Martinez was hittign .294/.401/.436 with 9 HR. Called him up a week or so ago. He has 4 hits in 10 at bats so far. Cheslor Cuthbert is hitting .309/.363/.406. with 4 HR in 288 at bats. "2 hit" Whit Merrifield is hitting .280/.333/.381 with 6 HR (really wish my franchise started after he got called up in real life). Luke Farrell is 8-7 with a 2.54 ERA in 102.2 IP. Christian Binford is 6-3 with a 2.90 ERA in 124.1 IP. And Brooks Pounders is 4-1 with a 2.71 ERA in 69.2 IP. Those 3 are currently fighting for a potential spot in the majors if Gee doesnt pan out as the 5th starter. Steve Miller has a 1.98 ERA in 36.1 IP with a 0.83 WHIP. He would get the call up if we send Bubba down.

In AA, Mark Wilkerson is hitting .313/.380/.410. Marten Gasparini is hitting .284/.359/.401. Chase Vallot and Jorge Bonifacio have 8 HR. 20 year old Tom Hoyt is 6-1 with a 1.83 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 64 IP. Nolan Watson is 7-5 with a 3.92 ERA in 114.2 IP. And 18 year old Woody Gunter is 5-6 with a 3.62 ERA in 92 IP.

The NL won the All Star Game 6-0.

So we are sitting pretty good with 73 games to go. Offense needs to pick it back up a bit. Starters are pitching well and 3 or 4 guys in the pen are getting the job done. We have time to figure out the few questions we do have. 10 game lead in the division and the other 4 teams really dont look like they want anything to do with winning right now. Gonna change the lineup around now that we have a good amount of numbers to work with. Gonna be going with

Well the red hot Astros have been cooled off after losing 3 in a row, 2 in Boston and 1 in Chicago (So far) this is a good thing and a bad thing. Good news is I have my settings right now. Bad news is our offense has disappeared. Then our relievers blow the game late.

McCullers first game back we lost and this was just not a great outing for McCullers so this one just sort of goes down as a pitching loss. Second game in Boston we had a 4-2 lead in the 6th. In the 7th Harris came in and blew the save allowing 2 runs to tie it. We went to extra innings and lost on a 2 run home run 6-4 in the bottom of the 11th.

First game in Chicago Fiers had a pretty decent outing allowing 3 runs through 6 innings. He gave us a chance to win. Was a 3-2 game then in the 7th Devenski in and he blows the save allowing 3 runs to cross the plate.

Only his first time acting as a reliever but I dont know how he will fit in the role to be honest. I may send him back down to AAA for the time being so he can get more work in.

Stats are finally coming back down to earth which is amazing.

I will say Fister pitched the second game in Boston and did a very good job a good bounce back. I gave him the start over Devenski and he showed flashes of what he can do. Ended up going 6 innings allowed 8 hits but only 2 runs.

Really good game for him considering I am pretty sure every other outing he allowed 5+ runs (In less than 7 innings)

At June 15 in my 30 team control Yankees franchise. I believe my last update was when I was at June 3 or 4. I geuss I'll just update it when I want instead of doing every 2 weeks worth of games or every months worth of games.

Since June 3rd we have went 6-5. Currently third is the AL East and 3.5 games out of first and 1 game out of second. The Blue Jays are in first at 40-27 and the Red Sox are in second at 36-28. We are at 35-29. Not great as its only good for third place but not terrible. The Jays are pretty beastly though. They have scored 361 runs and only gave up 227 so far. Probaly won't go quite as in depth every update as far as all starts ERA's and stuff every update. It is worth noting that Eovaldi has been pitching great. 8-1 record with a 2.03 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. In my last update I was saying that Parmelee was killing AAA pitching so I might have to find a roster for him if he kept it up. Well I don't have to deal with that for a while. He recently tore a finger ligament which will keep him out for 1 month at the very least. However, Swisher is still feasting on AAA pitching pretty well. Gamel is also hitting well. As for Judge, he's been slumping lately in AAA. When Kirby Yates returned I sent Pestano down and let Swarzak stay up.

I've also realized I have not put standings for other divisions so I think I'll start doing that sometimes.

Just got rocked against Seattle with Texas. They hit 5 HR's against me. Only bright side was Joey Gallo hitting his 3rd HR in 3 games, but still lost 12-3.

In the last three series the Blue Jays have played at least one game per series that went long into extra innings. Firstly, as mentioned in the last update the Jays lost in the 18th inning to Texas. They won the series however 2-1. Next up was the Dodgers. After a 1-1 split the finale went to a crazy 21 innings where pillar would hit a walk off double to end it for the series win.

Now, playing San Fran., second game of the series after a game 1 win, they found themselves in the 14th inning (I haven't finished the game yet lol) the pitching staff and bats are all quite fatigued and looking forward to a rest day after the SF series. The bench had gotten a lot of action as well. Osuna went a crazy 4 innings in the 21 inning win so he has had some time off. Grilli picked up the save in game 1 against SF. It is worth noting there are a few changes to the bench.

Firstly, 1-2 month injuries to Saunders, Morse and Brown have let to another addition by the Blue Jays via free agency. Saunders is the starting LF and his replacement was meant to be a combo of Morse and Guerrero (ST signings). With Morse out, the Jays were depending on Brown and Carrera to fill in as Left handed bats. Brown is also hurt and Carrera was batting .206. Lavarnaway had 1 hit in 10 at bats but struck out 7 times. Goins was hitting .189. Also, Montero had 1 hit and 0 walks in 13 at bats while striking out 5 times. Carrera, Lavarnaway, Goins and Montero were sent to AAA.

To replace them the Jays Called up Junior Lake to platoon against LHP. Cather Wilkin Castillo was activated from the DL and called up to the bigs as a 31 year old rookie. He can also play 2b/3b/SS which is nice. Barney was called up for Goins as a backup infielder. Finally, the Jays signed OF Grady Sizemore to a 2 year (club option) deal worth 600K per year. Grady is a contact bat from the left side of the plate and is a good fielder in all OF spots. The jays only LHB were Smoak (.215) and Carrera (sent down, .206). There was not any reliable options in the minors besides Pompey who is struggling in AAA. He will backup all OF spots and play some LF against righties due to Guerrero's splits.

The Jays will have some decisions to make when everyone is healthy so this is sort of an audition for many players. Until then, stay tuned.

Rockies Franchise End of May Update

Well, it's the end of May now, and it's pretty safe to say it was a successful one. My Rockies went 19-10 in the month of May, which brings our record to a total of 34-20. We are currently only 1.0 GB the Dodgers for the NL West lead. Here are the standings as we are right now:

As you can tell, the Dodgers have the advantage in run differential right now, but in May, we played each other 3 times and my Rockies swept the series against them. We currently hold the series lead 5-4 against them.

A few key players to keep an eye on here:

1) Nolan Arenado - I mean come on... .346 avg (top 5 in the NL), 18 HRs and 48 RBIs (leads the majors in both categories), and an absolutely STAGGERING 1.127 OPS. To say the guy is tearing it up would be an unbelievable understatement. He's putting up some incredible numbers and right now they spell MVP. The Triple Crown is actually in sight for him... which is something I've never said before when it comes to a player on my team.

2) German Marquez - Look at these numbers.... 9-1, 1.69 ERA, and 0.98 WHIP. The guy is either leading or tied for the lead in all three of those categories. He has been LIGHTS OUT so far. Best pitcher on the staff this season, by far. Also, I hit a homerun with Marquez against the Pirates. Tyler Glasnow hung a breaking ball (it's in the highlight video) and Marquez made him pay.

3) Mike Tauchman - This guy started his MLB career with a bang, hitting a go-ahead 2-run HR off Stephen Strasburg in his first game. It ultimately won it for us. Since then, he hasn't slowed down. He's hitting .283 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs a little under a half a month of playing time. He's making me look like a genius for DFA'ing Blackmon to bring him up.

Speaking of bringing people up:

4) Tyler Anderson - It's time for him to come up. In the minors, he had a 1.67 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP. He was dominating down there, so I officially decided to make the change. With Peavy (5.63 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) and Bettis (9.17 ERA, 2.15 WHIP) both struggling, I decided to move Bettis down to AAA, take Peavy out of the rotation, and bring Anderson up to fill his spot. If Anderson ends up being anything like Jeff Hoffman, then we might be in pretty dang good shape.

5) Jason Bourgeois - When I DFA'd Charlie Blackmon, I decided that I needed somebody with speed that I can eventually use to fill the end of the game baserunning spot. I signed Bourgeois and started him in AAA, just so I would have him if I needed him. I was forced to put Justin Miller on the DL (broken forearm), so a spot on the roster opened up. I brought up Bourgeois in hopes that he can fill that baserunning role for me.

Twins update in 2018 (Season 3)

I'm sitting at 50-54 and up against the trade deadline in my franchise. Believe it or not I'm on 2.0 GB in the AL Central as the entire division is bunched up in mediocrity. I pulled off a trade for OF Wil Myers and C Derek Norris from the Padres. I gave them a legit pitching prospect as the Padres were so far out of the race and their pitching system was garbage. Both players are in the last year of their contracts and the pitcher I gave them will have tons of team control.

Here's a quick lineup rundown:
CF Buxton - He's hitting .257 after floating around .300 all year. He had a really rough July. He has 10 HR 35 RBI and 22 SB's so he's having a great year. Just need him to get on base more (.315 OBP)
1B Mauer - He's having quit the throwback year as he leads the team with a .329 avg and might hit 15 HR (9 so far)
2B Dozier - He's having a really quality season as he's hitting .272 with 22 HR 52 RBI and 11 SB. All-around stud who I was going to dangle in trades but we're in the race.
DH Sano - He was injured for two months and was hitting a terrible .180 but he's raised the average to .231 in July. He has 11 HR and 30 RBI. Need him to tear it up the rest of the year.
LF Wil Myers - Since the trade he's raised the BA from .215 -> .361 and hit 13 HR in June. Not much power in July but the average was over .300. He has 16 HR on the season and looks to be a big piece of my O.
C Norris - He's having an okay season and has done better since the trade out of San Diego. He has a .252 avg with 8 HR and 30 RBI
RF Danny Santana - Surprise of the season is hitting .305 with 7 HR and 28 RBI in 325 AB's.

Rotation:
The story is the 19-year old phenom William Connors. He has already progressed from 75 -> 88 since being drafted in 2016. He's 10-2 with a 2.26 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 147.2 IP and 131 K. He has a FB that sits 95-96 and a great SL/12-6 duo and an okay change. Here's the rest:
SP Ervin Santana (3-8) with a 5.87 ERA...might look to trade for a veteran and unload Santana
SP Derek Holland (10-6) with a 3.98 ERA. Quality #2 guy right here.
SP Jose Berrios (7-7) with a 4.20 ERA. He started off the year great but has really struggled lately
SP Ross Stripling (3-4) with a 3.01 ERA. Only 98 IP as he took over the #5 slot from Tyler Duffey who pitched poorly

Bullpen:
LR Tyler Duffey - 5.07 ERA and is just a warm body
RP J.T. Chargois - throws fire but his 4.83 ERA is bad...only 69 OVR
RP Nick Burdi - notched 16 saves but the 4.68 ERA and steady HR's given up moved him out of closer role
RP J.R. Graham - another 4+ ERA guy in the pen. 68 OVR and just not an effective arm.
RP Casey Fien - you guessed it...4.08 ERA. 79 OVR so should do better...but the #'s aren't good
RP Michael Tonkin - FINALLY! 1.32 ERA in 27 IP. Not a huge sample size but he's been great.
CL Kevin Jepsen - He earned the close role back as he's the best rated bullpen arm (81) and has been solid.

Possible call ups:
SP Taylor Rogers - might put him in a relief spot to get a lefty out of the pen. He's been great in AAA with a 2.69 ERA in 154 IP.
1B Justin Smoak - he was struggling so I sent him to AAA. Since then he's hit .271 with 12 HR in AAA. Might need a pinch hitter down the stretch.
SS Nick Gordon - I'm getting no offensive production from SS from Jorge Polanco. Gordon has progressed to a 75 OVR and is hitting .278 with 8 HR in AAA.

Will look to add a SP or pen guy since I'm at the trade deadline.
