Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Took my '15 franchise and carried over to '16 after the 2017 playoffs. Finished up the off-season where some big names switched teams, and I'm about to get started with the 2018 season. My dynasty thread is linked in my signature if anyone is interested in catching up.

I've run into a few issues with the carryover from 15 to 16, but I'm hoping I can just continue to power through them and keep this one going strong.

After that, you can do to Disabled List. Then Manage Injuries. From there, you can scroll through teams and injure (or magically heal) players at your pleasure.

I think I got all the steps. Don't have the game open so trying to go from memory/visualization

Then when you're done, repeat the steps and set "Injuries" to whatever setting. Back out and save again.

I will try this thank you

Are there still issues when carrying over or have they been patched/fixed?

2-1 after the first series with the Pirates. Lost game 1 but won the last two. Some big injuries thus far in my season as Strasburg is out for the month with a fractured wrist and David Wright is done for the year due to Torn MCL.

Next up is 3 in Atlanta with the Braves.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Decided to keep playing 15 and started my 2016 Cubs season and having a blast. I'll move to 16 when the carry over issues are patched. Went 80-82 last year with my Cubs using original rosters mixed between All-star and Vet with zone hitting.

No big offseason moves but we just hit a 5 game win streak that puts us in a 1st place tie at 11-7. The goal is to hang in on all star all season. Rizzo just had a remarkable game against the cards with an inside the park home run (player dove into the wall trying to catch) and two triples (5 rbi's).

Soler is killing it batting over .350. A few games ago he threw out his arm and I was worried however he only missed a game. We did trade a prospect for Matt Moore recently. I had signed a rule 5 guy to be 5th in the rotation but he isnt ready and has poor stamina. I've moved him to long reliever. Rondon has already blown like 4 saves. I have a big closer prospect but want to wait until next year at least to bring him up but my hand might be forced.

I'm a little worried the momentum will go away when I switch to 16 however I know this game is going to smack me back to reality soon. 5 game streak was lucky. 1 comeback win and two walk off wins. I think the other game we gunned down the trying run at the plate to end the game.

Well it looks like I'm going to be starting over when OSFM is done. The issues are just becoming too much to deal with and are killing my immersion into my franchise.

Currently 0-5 with the Detroit Tigers ! I'm loving the game but man I'm rusty . Every game has been close but the problem is I'm just not hitting too well. I play on hall of fame difficulty just like every year . Starting a new 3 game home series against the Pirates let's see if I can turn things around.

Hitting took me the entire spring training (played every game) to get the hang of this year. Now that I have, I absolutely love it!

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Marlins limped through the end of their final road trip before the All-Star Break.

The team got shut down by the absolutely stacked pitching staff of the Dodgers.

The team could not generate hits and in their frustration got too reckless on the bases when they did get on. This was especially evident against Robert Stephenson. The team worked him for 6 walks in 6 innings of work, but also struck out 10 times and managed just 4 hits, one of them with runners in scoring position. And that run was cut down when Tillman, who managed to get on base when the umpire called three clear strikes as balls, thought he was an actual base runner and ran on Kemp. He was out by 10 feet to end the inning. The team also got caught stealing twice and even got picked off second base once.

The Marlins ended up losing 1-0. Chris Davis gave Dodger fans a scare when he yanked a Tommy Hunter fastball, but it hooked foul.

Fortunately, the Mets did not take much advantage of the Dodgers sweep. Had the Mets swept their opponent, the Marlins would have been down to f a 4 game lead. As it was, the Mets also got swept so the lead is hovering where it's been for about three weeks, 7 games.

The Marlins snapped the losing streak as they won the opener against the Padres. Barely. Harper was the hero with a 2-run HR in the 5th to make it a 4-1 score but the Padres were figuring out Clay Huff and starting rallying in the 6th. They scored two on him but he worked out of the jam with a 4-3 lead. Huff went back out there for the 7th with a quick 5-pitch inning, and the 8th saw another rally, but the sinkerballer got a timely double play and then SS Jose Campos showed his defense with a strong throw to first on a grounder near the hole to retire the side and prevent the tying run from scoring. Leone, who's been money all year thus far, came in the 9th to seal it, though even that was with some drama. A strike out on a wild pitch gave the Padres a runner as the batter reached first easily. Luckily, Leone struck out the next two hitters and then got the fourth to fly out harmlessly to end the game.

After the Padres series, the All-Star Break will arrive.

The Cubs have extended their win streak to 6 games with a 2-0 win over the Cards. We are starting a 3 game series with the Reds. Both teams are tied for first at 12-7. Dexter Fowler just hit a 2 out 2 strike inside the park home run on a missing diving catch in the outfield.

The Rays lost the game 7 heart breaker 4-1 to Detroit that went 11 innings. Archer pitched a great game allowing 1 earned run, 6 hits and 10 strikeouts. Detroit went on to lose to the Nationals in the World Series. I kept most of the team intact but traded away Smyly and Forsythe for decent prospects at C and 1B. Called up a player who will take over Forsythe's role and can play multiple positions.

The Reds have snapped the Cubs 6 game win streak 5-4. They bamboozled me with a missed suicide squeeze bunt where I threw the runner out at second. All we had to do was hold the ball and tag the runner at home. Jay Bruce hit a 3 run shot to give the Reds a 3-2 lead in the 5th that knocked Matt Moore out of the game. Brian Schlitter once again played like garbage out of the pen. We need to improve our pen. The Cubs tried to rally with runners in scoring position in the 8th and 9th but Folwer grounded into a dp to end the game. Chapman with the save.

Since the last update the Jays have won 7 of their last 10. They beat the O' 2-1, Rangers 2-1, tied the Red Sox 2-2 and have started a key series against the Tigers with a 4-1 win against Jordan Zimmerman.

The Jays currently sit 2 games back of the Red Sox and 7 back of the Yankees in the division. However, the Tigers and Redsox currently hold the 2 wild card spots. The Jays find themselves 0.5 games back of the Tigers which ties them with the White Sox. Also, the mariners are only 1 game back of that last spot so it will be a very fun and unpredictable last couple of months.

The Red Sox bolstered their lineup to start trade season, grabbing Jimmy Parades from the Os for a pitching prospect. The royals also improved grabbing RF Ichiro from the first place Marlins for a reliever.

Finally, the Blue Jays have made their move. They have acquired SP Andrew Cashner for OF Dalton Pompey, SP Tom Robson and 19 a year old C potential SP. The Jays like Cashner long term and will take a look at him for the remainder of the season before talking extension. If the Jays continue their strong play they may make one more move, but it looks like they are done trading.

They also acquiredC Andrew Susac from the Giants for a couple of pitching prospects. This deal was key as Russell Martin is expected to miss the month of July with a hip injury.

Abraham Almonte has played strongly with Saunders on the DL, while Hamilton has been Ice cold leading to Almonte getting most reps in LF. His defence has been poor in the position however.

The Jays had their first look at Andrew Cashner who dazzled the Tigers allowing 7 hits over 7 innings and striking out 9 while allowing 1 run (allowed on a Colabello error). Susac has been doing a find job as well going 4/12 with a homer, double and 2 RBI in 3 starts with the Jays. He has been much better against LHP.

Next up the Jays have 2 key series before the all star break. They continue the series against the Tigers, the. Face the white sox for 3 and royals for 3. All teams they are chasing for wild card spots. This month will tell a lot about the direction of the team come the end of the month.

                              Stay tuned!

We are now sitting at 4-1 after taking the first two from the Braves in Atlanta. Brandon Moss was injured in today's game as he suffered a bruised leg, but isn't expected to see any time on the DL.
