    <table><td bgcolor=#004684>End of August - 2018</td></table>

Not looking like anyone is gonna stop us as we keep on rolling towards the playoffs. 29-17 since the All Star break. 3rd best record in the Majors at 82-53 (Pirates and Cubs tied at 84-50). 17.5 games ahead of Chicago in the central. We are 18-4 against our division since the all star break. And 41-14 overall. We have 21 more games against them this month so its probably safe to say we will win 95+ games. I dont know what the record is. But we have to be close. The 01 Mariners didnt even dominate their division this much.

    Standings
    Spoiler

Pitching didnt improve really. We have given up 3.8 runs per game since the break. All the starters took a step back but we are sticking with what we got for now. Even though a couple guys have been pretty bad. Jordan Lyles was the best over that stretch. 6-1 over the last 9 starts with a 3.20 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 56.1 IP. Yordano Ventura is is 3-0 (thanks to the offense) in 9 starts. With a 4.58 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 53 IP. Mike Minor has been pretty bad. 0-2 in 9 starts with a 5.37 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP in 52 IP. Duffy and Gee have been almost identical. Both gave up 22 runs in 52.2 IP and 51.2 IP. They are 5-8 with a 3.80 ERA in 104.1 IP over 19 starts combined. Bullpen has improved though. We did call up Steve Miller and he has been great. In 18.2 IP he has a 0.48 ERA and 0.91 WHIP. Joakim Soria has his ERA down to 2.74 and WHIP at 0.88. Kelvin Herrera has been our best relieve since the break. He has an ERA of 1.59 and WHIP of 1.15. Wade Davis has struggled a bit. ERA is up to 2.28. WHIP is still good at 0.99. He leads the majors with 51 saves. Next closest is Reds closer Willy Cordero (drafted in 2016) with 42.

Offense though did improve despite Alex Gordon missing 6 weeks with an injury. Lorenzo Cain stepped up after the injury and provided some lost power. After having just 3 HR in 77 games he has 5 in his last 40. As of now he has career highs in AVG(.307), OBP(.371) and SLG(.478). He has also set a career high with 35 SB and 12 3B. And should set a career high in WAR. He is at 6.00 right now. His high is 6.25. Oh and he has 1 error in 1018 innings. Team MVP by far. Jackson Yates still improving on his slow start to the year. Now hitting .279/.355/.463 with 18 HR and 62 RBI. Christian Colon is hitting .292/.356/.385. And has forced Alcides Escobar to the bench as he is hitting just .196/.233/.263. The rookies have bounced back after a couple rough months. Mondesi is hitting .250/.306/.388 with 7 HR. And Balbino is hitting .255/.307/.418 with 7 HR. We brought up "2 Hit" Whit Merrifield when Gordo went down. And he has filled in extremely well. In 37 games he has hit .277/.328/.479 with 6 HR. His ability to play all over the field has helped get some more guys rest as well. Mike Moustakas has 26 HR on the year. He is 11 away from the Royals record. Doubt he gets it but its possible. no one has had 30 HR for us since Jermaine Dye in 2000.

27 games left in the season. 17 of those at home. 13 of those against teams int he central. Our Magic number is 11. Almost impossible for us to lose the division at this point. Just need to stay healthy and figure out the 4 guys we will be throwing out there come October.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Last I leftoff I was on a 3 game losing streak. Well we finished out the series in Chicago winning the last 2, taking the series. Then back home I have played 2 games vs Texas so far and boy is the curse real in this game or what. So far both games have not even been close, 3-1 Rangers (Not as close as it may look) and 11-3 Rangers (I kind of lost it in the 9th and plunked Odor and Fielder so they ended up bringing in 3 more.

Anyways Feliz was 100% responsible for the collapse against the Rangers, Fister got the start and gave up 3 runs in the 1st inning. I was scared he was back to his old ways then bounced back very well, he ended up giving a solo shot home run away in the 4th but otherwise was strong throughout 6 innings. We got back 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th making it a 4-3 game (We had gotten a run in the bottom of the 1st). So we were right back in the game then Feliz just imploded on the mound.

My 1st reaction was to demote him straight away and I did actually demote him but ended up calling him right back up. I decided to not make any rash decisions. I sent down Devinski as I plan to keep Fister in the rotation and try to build some value on him then off load him and Feldman at some point for some prospects.

Here is some big news though, both Kevin Maitan and Alex Bregman have been called up to AAA, Maitan was batting over .300 and Bregman around .290 . I decided to give them both the call up, Maitan is only 18 years old so he will likely get sent back down to AA at some point but why not get him some experience.

Bregman is taking a little bit of time to adjust but otherwise is doing pretty well at AAA. Batting just over .200 to start but he is rising quickly. (He was also Cold when I called him up)

Reed is still chilling in AA but is going to get called up soon to AAA as he is batting .266 with 7 home runs. I expect him to get called up at the end of the month if he can keep it up. I may have to fast track him though as Tyler White has gone ice cold (Very similar to real life).

So Devenski will be getting more starts in AAA but another young pitching prospect is Francis Martes, 20 years old at AAA and has a 2.08 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. He will be called up this season almost for sure. He will be a lot like McCullers I believe in the sense that he will make it to the majors very fast for a starting pitcher.

Mike Soroka is also red hot and is only 18 years old but is in AAA with a 1.83 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.

I did edit some of my guys attributes (Prospects). OSFM does a great job but they cant get the exact details down and I can understand that. So I edited attributes and potentials based on multiple scouting reports.

I plan after the draft I will create all of the real Astros draft prospects, same for International Free Agent signing. After this year however I will only go off of what happens in the game.

All and all I am having fun I have lost a little bit of motivation but the beginning of the year is arguably the most boring in baseball as there is not really much going on other than games. In June we have the draft, July is trades and All-star game. Prospects will start coming up June and later as well. September is September Call Ups.

Will be very exciting. Anyways we have been scuffling going 5-5 over our last 10. I think we will bounce back we just need to get the bats and bullpen going again.

      Some MLB ETA's (For fun):
      Francis Martes - 2016
      David Paulino - 2017
      A.J. Reed - 2017
      Colin Moran - 2017
      Alex Bregman - 2017
      Derek Fisher - 2018
      Daz Cameron - 2018
      Kyle Tucker - 2019

Some of these guys may get boosted 1 year up but this is just based on current stats and age.

Side Note: I am really getting tired with low power hitts (30-50) hitting home runs against me. Had 3 home runs from people with power ratings below 55. I know it happens but in one game. Its not like it was against a bad reliever on a bad pitch too lol. Oh well it happens I guess.

I really need to get back into my franchise.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Yet another stellar performance by German Marquez. He went 8 innings with 6 K's, 5 hits, 0 BB's and 0 ERs. He didn't get the win, however because it was 0-0 when he went out.

In the 9th, Kurt Suzuki hit a walk-off HR to win it. I've had 4 walk-offs this season... three of them by Kurt Suzuki.

          Dude is clutch, it seems.

I've been jumping around a lot myself. I felt I needed to up the difficulty a bit and its been a bit of an adjustment! I already pitch on HOF, but I just recently bumped my hitting up to HOF from All Star. Team Batting average is way down, runs are down, but so far I have been hitting a decent amount of HR.

The Phillies continue to win games with their pitching. They are tied for 26th in MLB with only 123 runs scored.

I lost Jeremy Hellickson for 3-4 weeks due to an inflamed hip suffered during the last game of the Reds series. Adam Morgan has been recalled from Triple-A to take his spot in the rotation.

The homestand continues with 3 against the Marlins followed by 3 against the Braves.

Since my last update, I have played 12 games and gone 9-3 in those games. Took 2 of 3 from the Marlins and 2 of 3 from the Braves to finish the homestand. Just finished a 6 game road trip through Detroit and Chicago. Swept the Tigers and took 2 of 3 from the Cubs. The Phillies now sit at 33-17 on the season. Still in 1st place in the NL East with a 3.5 game lead over the Nationals who happen to be in town for a 3 game set to close out May and start June.

Adam Morgan has pitched well in the 2 starts he has had since being called up to replace the injured Jeremy Hellickson. In 15 innings pitched he is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA. Jeremy Hellickson has been activated from the disabled list but I am not sending Morgan back to Triple-A. Instead, Charlie Morton has been designated for assignment. Morton wasn't terrible, but everyone else is pitching better. In 10 starts, Morton was 4-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 60 innings pitched. Only 4 walks allowed and 53 strikeouts. I may attempt to trade him for some minor league depth. The Blue Jays and Rockies are showing interest.

Freddy Galvis has been red hot in the last few weeks. On the season he is hitting .251 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI. Both team highs shockingly. The Phillies as a team have hit 64 home runs which ties them with the Rangers for 2nd place in MLB.

The Phillies begin a 10 game homestand with 3 against the Nationals, 4 against the Brewers and 3 against the Cubs.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Decided to sim a good bit to just wrap up my 2018 Twins season 2nd half. I just didn't have a realistic shot of a playoff push and ended up 76-86. That's three straight years under .500 but I feel like we're making some progress.

Dodgers went on to win the World Series over the Red Sox 4-2. This marks the 2nd straight WS title for LAD and there are no signs of slowing down. Kershaw was the NL MVP and Cy Young winner. The trades that I made for them seemed to have boosted their lineup enough (Plouffe/K. Davis/Vogt) and their pitching staff is amazing. The Cubs just can't get past the Dodgers as they've won the NL Central 3-years in a row but continue to lose to LAD in the playoffs.

Here's a brief recap of my roster moves:
                - 1B Joe Mauer retired at the age of 35. He hit .315 this season which was top 5 in AL
                - SP Ervin Santan and RP Casey Fien retired on me as well
                - 2B Brian Dozier was lost to Free Agency as the Angels gave him an insane 6-year $120M deal. He is a 91 OVR and did hit 32 HR though...
                - My free agent class was a good crop of decent veterans as I snagged CL J. Familia from NYM, 1B Justin Bour from MIA, and LF Gerardo Parra from AZ. I also brought back C Derek Norris on a 2-year deal. Bour got 2-years $10M and I gave Familia around $7M/per

                Here's the lineup for 2019:

                # Starters
23 Chad Dawson (C) - 2nd year pro who had 1st season cut short by injury. Hoping he hits 25 HR.
4 Wil Myers (1B) - He tore it up after the trade for us. Hoping he continues to be an offensive force. Can also play some OF.
1 Nick Gordon (2B) - Big shoes to fill at 2nd for Dozier. Will hit 9th.
22 Miguel Sano (3B) - Moved back to 3B after failed OF trial. Looking for him to enter prime and challenge 40 HR.
11 Jorge Polanco (SS) - Great defender but looking for him to hit consistently
8 Gerardo Parra (LF) - Will bad #2 and we need some contact/good D from him
22 Byron Buxton (CF) - Needs to continue his improvement offensively. Defensively a gold glove type.
39 Danny Santana (RF) - Hit near .300 last year and is an underrated part of the team.
41 Justin Bour (DH) - Brought him in to give a power lefty in the lineup. He had 100 RBI last year for MIA. He's a huge piece of lineup.
                # Reserves
44 Derek Norris (C) - Will platoon and start vs LHP as he tears them up
9 Javier Baez (IF) - Will platoon and start vs LHP at 2B
5 Eduardo Escobar (SS) - Will platoon and start vs LHP at SS
26 Max Kepler (OF) - Depth guy, hasn't reached potential and might not.
                # Rotation
21 William Connors - AL Rookie of the Year went 16-7 as a 19-year old. He's an ace.
47 Derek Holland - Final years of his arm and needing him to keep production near where it's been
17 Jose Berrios - Needs to be more consistent.
68 Ross Stripling - Pitched over his head in '18, we'll see how he fares in '19
15 Tyler Jay - Had a cup of coffee last year with okay results. Intrigued to see how he performs
                # Bullpen
24 Taylor Rogers - young long relief lefty
                40 Aaron Slegers - 6'10 converted starter
48 Brandon Peterson - another young arm
59 Michael Tonkin - veteran had an amazing '18 campaign, should be a staple
49 Kevin Jepsen - veteran RHP with good track record
27 Jeurys Familia - big FA signing who could possibly move to closer depending on how Doolittle fares
62 Sean Doolittle - acquired for quite the haul to OAK and will begin as the closer

                ______________

I was able to get in Opening Day 2019 @ New York Mets and squared off against Syndergaard with William Connors. I pulled out the 6-5 victory as I erupted for like 6 straight hits against Syndergaard in the 5th inning. Thor didn't record an out in the inning and I took a 5-2 lead at that point in the game. Jorge Polanco is the surprise #1 HR hitter in 2019 with a solo shot off Thor.

Connors wasn't impressive in his 6 IP but only managed to give up 3 ER and the bullpen held on for the win. Closer Doolittle got hit around in the 9th giving up 2 ER and almost blowing the save, but he got it done. Familia was lights out in the 8th. That will be something the organization monitors really closely! Familia's slider is nasty!

It was nice to have the lineup hit the ball really well off an ace. I've struggled against the better rated pitchers. Justin Bour was the one guy to struggle in his Twins debut. I think he was 0-4 with 3 K.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Ive decided to pull the trigger on a trade with the Brewers.

I sent Doug Fister in exchange for Corey Knebel. A package of prospects went both ways. Fister has made a few quality appearances but struggles after the 5 inning mark. I saw on the trade block that the Brewers were looking to acquire Fister so I sent this deal to them.

Some prospects also bounced around teams. I sent Nick Tanielu in exchange for Tyrone Taylor. They are stacked in the outfield for prospects and this guy is a C potential (They have 3 B potentials in Center alone). He is more developed however as an on base guy.

Tanielu has done okay in the minors this year but I figured they wouldnt mind a 3rd basemen as they dont really have any prospects at 3rd.

I think I won the trade but not by a lot. I made sure the bar stayed in their favor.

I wanted to acquire Knebel because our bullpen has really struggled this year.

Anyways a collateral move with this:
                  Michael Feliz to AAA
                  Francis Martes to MLB

This is early for the Arbitration clock but we really needed help in the back end of the starting rotation. Martes has been tearing up AAA, Devenski has since been struggling. Martes will get his first career start in my next game.

I didnt want to trade Fister but the fact of the matter was is I have Martes and Devenski both capable of being starters at MLB right now I believe.

I thought about bringing up Devenski but he hasnt been as great at AAA and looking back at his stats he struggled a bit in MLB. Devenski will get his shot soon enough.

Mike Fiers also may be on the way out as he has really struggled this year as well but not to the degree of Fister. I waited till Fister had just a glimmer of upside then flipped him.

Edit: Decided to call up Devenski and avoid Super 2. Will call him up after June 1st. Dont know if that is the exact cutoff but Ill give it a shot.

I lost Maikel Franco for 2-3 months with a broken leg in my last game. Somewhat of a blow even though he has been struggling for me this season. .222 with 8 homers and 17 RBI through Memorial Day when he was injured. This creates an opportunity to see the Phillies top prospect J.P. Crawford. He has been called up to play shortstop with the red hot Freddy Galvis moving over to third base. I didn't feel a trade was necessary at this time since Franco isn't lost for the entire season. Will definitely explore this option if I feel it becomes necessary later on.

Seriously nohing more exciting than giving your top prospect a chance at the Major League level. Keep us updated on Crawford. He's tearing it up for the Phillies in my franchise. Nick Williams is also doing outstanding for them.

As far as my Rockies go, when it rains, it pours. I went on a 5 game winning streak and was seriously considering upping the difficulty and then, BOOM, Arizona comes to town and beats me 3-1 and 11-2. It really brought me back down to Earth lol.

It is so rewarding to build a better roster and start to have more success. It's way too early to say I've built a playoff contender but a nice 3-0 start to 2019 feels amazing. Just tossed a CG SHO with Jose Berrios in my home opener against the Blue Jays. (4 H 2 BB 9 K)

This game truly makes you feel like you're playing baseball. It's probably why guys voice frustrations on these boards so often. You feel the ratings make a huge difference in how the game plays out as well, which is something that I don't experience often in Madden or NBA 2K.

Anyways, with the new lineup I have built there's a clear difference in how many balls I put the barrel on and the way they come off the bat. With my improved lineup my defense hasn't improved as much so I feel the difference there as well. Having Wil Myers at 1B + Sano at 3B I definitely dropped off there.

Anyways I'm just excited to have a team I feel can compete after feeling pretty hopeless the past three seasons!

First game with Crawford he had an RBI double in his second at-bat.

I'm at the end of the month of May 2016 in my Giants franchise. I'm just about .500. In the game I just played Duffy slides into home to score and breaks his foot..out 2-3 months. So gillapsie and Tomlinson are going to have to fill in until he comes back. I also brought up 2B grant green to fill the roster spot of Duffy. He has decent contact and will be a pinch hitter/depth for 2nd/3rd base until Duffy is back. In the game that Duffy got injured, I was down 2-5..duffy scores to make it 3-5 and then pence gets up and cracks a 3 run homer against the Rockies in Colorado to make it 6-5 in the 9th inning. Casilla comes in and closes the game out to win. I'm new to baseball and still figuring out that it isn't over until it's over, anything happens.

Short update. I am finally really enjoying the game I have my sliders set and I am set. I am bouncing between Veteran and All-Star hitting and it is perfect for me. Got SOTS set up and oh man did I underestimate how nice it is. I remember thinking meh I dont really need to use that. Bought a USB drive and it has made the game so much more enjoyble and I have only played one game. Im just kicking back on broadcast mode and enjoying it its nice.

Anyways onto the actual update part. Corey Knebel saw his first playing time today against the Diamondbacks after McHugh went 5 strong innings. He ended up giving up a 2 run shot that gave the D-Backs the lead but other than that was very strong throughout 2.1 innings. Ill take it. BTW he struck out 5 batters in those 2.1 innings. (Only 2 hits)

We ended up losing the game 3-1 which was unfortuanate but we have been struggling A LOT with RISP. Granted the one time we really had a chance was with runners on 2nd and 3rd. I bring in Correa to pinch hit he gets walked now pitcher up to bat and I dont have any clear cut guys to use so ended up losing the bases loaded situation.

It may be a knee jerk reaction but since A.J. Reed and Alex Bregman have gotten called up to AAA they have been playing great. I wont bother with posting Reed's stats because he only has 14 AB's but Bregman is hitting .271 with 1 home run in his first week or so in AAA.

Once again knee jerk reaction and all but glad to see they are transitioning well.

Ill do a stats update on my major league guys after the draft which is 2 days away!

EDIT: Just had a great game in game 2 against the D-Backs. We won 9-2 so it was a blowout but Lance McCullers is back to say the least. He went 8.1 innings and threw 124 pitches. He game a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 9th which stopped him from getting the complete game shutout and I pulled him. He had 13 strike outs in the game I have never had a game like this pitching wise.

Also of course the bats were going but Carlos Correa went 4-5 with 2 home runs. Even more, I screwed up my lineups and George Springer played 2nd base and Altuve played Right Field lol. Neither made an error though. Just a great performance all round.
