Im using Armor & Sword & Marino's as the base. My pitching sliders are exactly what they have there with HoF difficulty. Hitting has changed a bit and i need to change some more. I was using directional but got tired of the pop ups on balls right down the middle. So i switched to zone and just leave the PCI in the middle of the screen. Games have been a lot better since then. But im hitting a few to many HR I think. So I might move hitting up to HoF. Or mess with the solid hits/timing siders.

2017 Phillies Playoff Update
We traveled to the Bay Area to take on Bumgarner and the Giants. Nola toed the hill for the Phils with hopes of shutting down the hot hitting Giants. It was a pitching duel into the 6th inning with the Giants leading 1-0 from a RBI single from Bumgarner. Looked like it was gonna be another game where my starting pitcher pitched great but we just couldn't put any hits together to get on the board. Then in the top of the 6th, with 2 outs, Bumgarner walks Nola, hits Herrera, and gives up a single to Espinosa. My best hitter, D. Ruf, comes up with the bases loaded and works the count to 2-1. Bumgarner then leaves a high hanger in the zone and BOOM, Ruf line drives a grand slam over the left field wall to take a 4-1 lead!
Nola continued his dominance only allowing 3 hits and we added 3 more runs to secure the 7-1 victory. It was a great win and now we head back to the East coast to take on our division foe, the Nats and the 2017 MVP/Cy Young winner, Max Scherzer.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
You need to have the injury slider between 8 and 10 to get injury reports that resemble real MLB injury reports.
Most people really don't want to have to deal with injuries, so they leave this at default
At 7, what you won't see is enough of the day to day and 1-6 day injuries, or in-game injuries. At 8 or higher, you see more of the small, nagging injuries and more in-game injuries.
At 10, it might be a touch high, but not by as much as you might think. I am setting mine at 8 or 9.
Thanks man. I'll try out the slider on 8 and see what happens! In 15 there was like no injuries when I played every game haha. Hope this has changed this year.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
Started a Giants 'chise to roll with the even year magic. I signed Alex Rios and Everth Cabrera to bolster the bench. We made it through ST injury unscathed.
Trevor Brown beat Andrew Susac for the backup C job, Kelby Tomlinson didn't make the OD roster, nor did Jarrett Parker. Clayton Blackburn will miss 1-2 months with an injury. Alex Torres made the OD roster so we have another lefty in the pen.Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
For simmed and played? If it's for both I might give it a try. I only have my injury slider at default for other teams and when I'm simming games but when I play I have it at 6 just because everyone knows injury's rarely happen in played games at the default injury level for some reason. Might give it a try if it's for both played and simmed games.
KB rolls with 10, which feels just a tad too high to me, so some of it comes down to personal preference.
I can tell you that you'll for sure see in-game injuries with the setting higher. You will see more 6+ month injuries as well, but these aren't the dominant type at higher settings. You see lots of 15 day DL type stuff and lots of 1-6 day type stuff with a healthy mix of month-long injuries in there.
Over the course of the season, you'll be playing with some fill-ins by the end of the first month, which tests roster depth.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
<table><td bgcolor=#004684>ALCS - 2017</td></table>
Game 1
SpoilerHome runs won the ballgame. And we were the ones hitting them for a change. Ventura was solid through 6.1 IP. Didnt quite have his strikeout pitch going like he did last time out. Gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4. Was cruising through the 1st 6 innings before things got away in the 7th. Loaded the bases with no outs before getting Upton to pop up just behind home plate. Hochevar came on in relief and struck out Cabrera for out #2. But couldn't put away J.D. Martinez as he singled up the middle scoring 2 runs and tying the game at 3. Score stayed there until the top of the 12th when we blew things open. Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas went back to back on homers to lead off the inning and take a 5-3 lead. Escobar followed that up with a double and Jackson Yates who pinch hit for Dyson in the 9th put another one over the center field wall for a 7-3 lead. Dillon Gee came on to get the last 3 outs and we took game 1 in Detroit.
Box Score
Medlen(0-0, 3.60) on the mound in game 2 against Justin Verlander(1-0, 2.84). Verlander won his only game against us in the regular season. Went 8 innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. Gonna let Yates start in RF. Has 2 at bats and already a bigger impact than Dyson has had.
Giants beat the Mets in the first 2 games of the NLCS.
Game 2
SpoilerEric Hosmer is making sure he gets paid. And paid a lot. Pretty quite game the first few innings. Medlen had allowed just 1 base runner through 3 innings before Justin Upton lead off the 4th with a solo shot to RF. We answered back in the top of the 5th with 2 runs off back to back singles by Phillips and Morales to take a 2-1 lead. Tigers retook the lead in the bottom of the 6th thanks to a 2 run double by Saltalamacchi. But again we answer right back in the top of the 7th as we tie the game up off of a Morales double. Top of the 9th still tied at 3. Yates walks to lead off the inning. Cain follows that up with a fly out to left. And then Hosmer comes up and puts no doubter over the right field wall to take a 5-3 lead. Davis comes in to close it out and we take a 2 nothing series lead back to KC.
Box Score
Spoiler
Vargas(1-0, 1.13) takes the mound against Anibal Sanchez(0-1, 5.40) in game 3 as we look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Hosmer is hitting .394/.412/.697 with a 3 HR and 6 RBI so far this post season. Putting on one last show before he chases all the money this winter.
Giants beat the Mets 1-0 in game 3. They lead the series 3-0.
Game 3
SpoilerOffense came back down to earth a bit in this one. Only managed to get 4 hits off of Sanchez in 7 innings. And if it wasnt for an error he may have allowed just 1 run. Our 2,3,4 hitters went 0 for 10. While the Detroit 2,3,4 hitters went 7 for 12 with 4 RBI and 2 HR. Vargas had an okay day after a rough start. Allowed 3 runs in the first 2 innings then settled down and allowed just 1 more run in the 7th.
Box Score
Spoiler
Detroit trying to get back into the series. We lead 2-1 with Mike Minor(1-0, 3.48) taking the mound in game 4 against Daniel Norris (0-0, 1.50). With San
Francisco on the verge of a sweep in the NLCS it would be nice to win these next 2 so we can get some rest before the WS. But i guess i should win first before thinking abut that.
Giants beat the Mets 5-2. Win the series 4-0 and advance to the 2017 World Series.
Playoff Bracket
Spoiler
Game 4
SpoilerOne bad inning and your team can be on the cusp of elimination. Thats exactly what happened to Daniel Norris. With a no hitting through 5 innings (1 walk) things fell apart fast in the 6th. He his Escobar to lead off the inning. Yates followed with a double ending the no hitter and getting our first run. He got Cain to fly out for the 1st out but it would be his last out. Hosmer and Phillips walk to load the bases for Morales and he sends one into the KC bullpen for grandslam and a 5-3 lead. 3 hits and 4 walks in total for the 6th. And it pretty much killed the Tigers from there. We added 2 more in the 8th to make it 7-3 and Davis shut it down in the 9th to give us a 3-1 series lead.
Box Score
Spoiler
Game 5 will be Ventura (0-0, 2.84) vs Zimmerman (1-0, 2.40). Really want this win here so we can use Ventura for game 1 of the WS. And so we dont have to go back to Detroit.
Game 5
For the 3rd time in 4 years. The Royals will play in the World Series. We got things going in the 3rd. After getting the first 2 guys out Zimmerman allowed 4 straight hits as we take a 2 nothing lead. Tigers get one back in the top of the 4th on a Kinsler single. Bottom of the 4th Zimmerman leaves the game with an injury after getting the first 2 outs. Fulmer comes on toe replace him and gives a single to Yates and then Lorenzo Cain homered to left to make it 4-1. Bottom of the 5th with Fulmer still pitching he gives up a single to Brandon Phillips and Morales follows it up with homer run that just barely got over the wall in the RF corner. With a 6-1 lead Ian Kennedy came after Ventura goes 6 innings with 1 run on 5 hits. Kennedy did his job getting the 3 inning save as we win game 4, 6-1 and the series 4-1.
Box Score
Spoiler
Royals vs Giants. Rematch of the 2014 World series. Giants won that one in 7 games. Mike Minor(2-0, 3.86) gets the start in game 1 against Madison Bumgarner(2-0, 1.40). Ventura could start but another day off and he will be fully rested. AL won the All start game so we get home field advantage.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
I have it that high for sims and played games. It's KB's setting, so credit him. I was reluctant to go higher than 7 initially, but after lots of games and lots of sims, I think a value of 8 or 9 is pretty solid.

10 and no, I still don't get enough, imo, especially in played games. (Sim it's better so at least I have to care about minors depth or hoping prospects/minor leaguers I use for depth don't get hurt).

Thanks guys! I have mine set to 8 and I will keep it there for a month and see if I get any in game injuries. If not I can always adjust it. Yea the Bautista one! Yea I read it is only for certain circumstances so that is fine. I'll just have to buckle down in clutch moments with Jose

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
The Marlins suffer their first significant injury of the year as Moses Bartlett, the team's knuckleballer, was hit on the foot by a slider during his at-bat in the bottom of the 6th inning.
The injury could keep the pitcher sidelined for 2-3 months.
Will Bullock will get the first shot at holding down the rotation spot. Many thought once-prized prospect Tyler Kolek would get the chance after finally turning in a solid AAA season.
Sources close to the team mentioned that Kolek needs another good "month or so" to show he's ready and then he would be the next in line. Though "perhaps sooner if Bullock struggles again".
Bullock has been given chances before. In brief stints the last two seasons, he's not been particularly impressive. Perhaps this is a chance to make a decision on him as well.
Meanwhile, rookie fifth starter Andres Ordonez will make his debut next as the Marlins try to stay perfect in their first trip through the rotation."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
I have my injuries at 8 an 18 days through April I have 5 guys 6+ months injured..... thinking about going back down to 7. I think that is the golden number. I was pretty happy with it for '15. I play all my games (one team), no sim except for the rest of the days games. May be just bad luck start to the season????Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread
Well, 6 games into the season and we have our first injury. Michael Saunders is down again. This time for 2-3 months with a torn finger ligament. He just can't catch a break (2x long DL stint in my last franchise in 15). He was batting .525 (all against RHP) with 1 homer on the year.
The Jays are 4-2 to start the season. They defeated Tampa 3-1 and are now tied with Boston 1-1 after a walk off win from Troy Tulowitzki in the 13th last game out.
Alex Guerrero will take over as the everyday LF with Morse also getting time there. OF Ezequiel Carrera was also called up and will replace Saunders on the 25 man roster. He will backup all OF positions. He got the call over Dominic Brown due to his ability to play CF and the Jays have no backup at that position on the roster. Morse will have to swing the bat to stay on the roster as Dominic Brown could replace him if the team needs another Left handed bat.
Guerrero gets the nod as the starter because he has been off to a strong start going 6/12 in 3 games with 3 doubles and 2 home runs (2 GP vs LHP 6/8 and 1 vs RHP 0/4). The Jays will ride his hot streak and hope he turns into a key ST signing!
In other news, the Jays claimed C, David Ross off waivers from the Cubs. He will report to AAA and could be the first call up to backup Martin if Thole fails.
