Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I just saw an article on The Score that had 3 proposals for Mike Trout trades involving the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Texas Rangers. I wanted to post them here because to me they didn't really seem like enough for the type of player you're getting back. Here they are:

BOS receives: Mike Trout, LAA receives: Yoan Moncada, Andrew Benintendi, Blake Swihart, & Henry Owens

LAD receives: Mike Trout, LAA receives: Julio Urias, Job Pederson, Jose De Leon, & Alex Wood

TEX receives: Mike Trout, LAA receives: Dillon Tate, Joey Gallo, Jurickson Profar, & Lewis Brinson

These seem like mega packages but they still don't seem like enough, what do you guys think? And this isn't an attempt to get Trout in a trade in MLB 16 the Show, just wanted to see what all the trade guys on here thought

Not much man. Can't imagine an average contact guy with no pop getting anything valuable.

Those deals don't seem enough lol. He's a future HoF. He looks to have another 10+ years left in the tank at a high level + great character. It's really hard to put a value on a guy who may not have entered his prime yet and his pre-prime is one of the best in MLB history.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't feel those packages are worth it. Yes, the Angels need talent in a bad way, but i don't think I would be trading Trout for prospects. He's just too rare of a commodity to gamble on some prospects.

That's what I was thinking, like yeah you're getting the top 2 or 3 prospects from the organizations but you're also trading away the best player in baseball right now, who like you guys said might not have even reached his prime yet. I think it would take a lot more to get LAA to even pick up the phone

A Red Sox trade is the three B's (Betts, Bradley, Bogy), Swihart, Espinoza, E-Rod and Benintendi plus some others. They are going to want young MLB talent back in return for him.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

              Okay so here's a trade:

SD sends SP Andrew Cashner + RF Matt Kemp
BOS sends OF Andrew Benintendi + SP Trey Ball

Boston adds a guy who can help lead them to the playoffs and takes on a veteran bat to rotate in the OF. Headliner for SD is Benintendi who appears to be a solid future OF'er. Trey Ball is a bit of a wildcard with his AAA stats looking average and he's a 64 OVR with low B POT.

Cashner + Kemp does not equal Benintendi.

Javier Baez to the Yankees, what does it take? Is there a Chapman + trade in there somewhere?

Pineda? Don't think Severino is enough

I'd trade Pineda for Baez in a heart beat, so I don't think Pineda is enough. Was thinking someone like Sanchez would have to be involved in there.

Pineda is the kind of the guy the Cubs would love

He's not as bad as you might think he is

I actually really love Big Mike despite his struggles this year. Just felt like it wasn't enough. I like him more than Severino, personally b

Pineda is enough. A 27 y/o pitcher on the cheap they can keep around for a few more seasons to help them make a run at a WS during their window of opportunity. Baez is creeping up on his 24th birthday and I'm sure the Cubs are wondering if he'll ever be able to see the ball in the show. Dealing Starlin was a sign that they might have faith in Javier but he isn't holding up his end of the deal. I'm sure Cubs deal Javi for a guy to bolster their starting rotation imo.

You're not crazy, I've always been a Severino doubter. His delivery makes me think reliever at best, elbow blow out at worst.
