Kris Bryant makes below average contact? He hit over .320 in 2013_ 2014 and 2015 in the minors while Gallo can't hit way out of a wet paper bag in the minors.

If Bryant makes below average contact then Gallo is the worst contact hitters basebl has ever seen, bar none.

Didn't know he was so incredibly overrated around here, geez. But good thing he has 80 power right? Lol hahaha
    Joey Gallo 2013/14/15:

    A (13): 163 wRC+, 446 PA
    A+ (14): 221 wRC+, 246 PA
    AA (14): 141 wRC+, 291 PA
    AA (15): 192 wRC+, 146 PA
    AAA (15): 90 wRC+, 228 PA (.258 BABIP)

    Kris Bryant 2013/14/15:

    A- (13): 209 wRC+, 77 PA
    A+ (13): 212 wRC+, 62 PA
    AA (14): 220 wRC+, 297 PA
    AAA (14): 164 wRC+, 297 PA
    AAA (15) 161 wRC+, 33 PA

Gallo and Bryant posted comparable swing and miss rates

The fact that Gallo is even approaching Bryant's numbers is enough to entirely dismiss this. But I'm going to be met with "I don't care about your Fangraphs ****, his batting average was bad so you're wrong." Hopefully someone takes something out of this, though. Can't just cherry pick components in baseball. Have to take everything into account.

By the way, I'm starting to think a PBU has been resurrected in this thread from the tone, tenor, and raging bias in some of these posts.

I see where you're going but I don't quite think so

        Actually, maybe.

Why would you want to trade for somebody so terrible then?

It's your franchise, do whatever you want, but you can't come in, posting a trade in a forum that is designed to critique trades, and then act like everyone else is crazy when they comment on your trade override level transaction.

You're talking about moving Trevor Bauer for a quality bullpen arm, that still has 3 years of team control, and a top 10 prospect? That's crazy. I'm an Indians fan, as well, so I would love that deal more than you could imagine, but it's not even close to being realistic.

Apparently some discussion going around that the Indians and Rangers are discussing a SP for RP deal. Trevor Bauer for Steve Tollenson? Any other suggestions?

I'd say the Yankees. Brett Gardner is a corner outfielder with 2 years left on his very team-friendly deal, and I'd flip Aroldis Chapman if you gave me a decent prospect or two in return. Bauer still has 3-4 years of team control right? The Indians would be taking on a lot of salary for 2016 (Chapman hits FA after 2016, so that money would be coming off the books).

              - Gardner has $36M left over three years, with a $12.5M club option in 2019.

              - Chapman has $11M due to him in 2016 before he hits free agency.

You're basically getting an above average OF on the downside of his career, one connected to his legs, over the next three years. Meanwhile, Chapman is the elite of the elite in the CP ranks and a perennial All-Star.

For the Yanks, Bauer has potential, but hasn't lived up to it yet, but is still a young, controllable, cost-effective arm. I would ask for a low-risk, middling pitching prospect, as well as a high-risk prospect in return.

I don't think this would work the more I write this, but hey, it's something to think about. haha

I think Gardner for Bauer would be fair but I don't see why the Yankees do it.

To dump his contract most likely. There have been rumblings of them trading/wanting to trade Gardner for over a year.

It's a totally reasonable contract though. I don't buy it. He's probably the best OF in their organization.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I was just looking around at trades. Currently 43 games in with the Blue Jays. Another month to the deadline. I signed Miguel Gonzalez and Drew Hutchinson has been nice in AAA as well.

I was looking to offload Dickey. I know he wouldn't garner much, but I have found maybe an interesting opportunity. Jays are 23-20 (2nd AL east, 2GB). Rangers are 18-23 (5.5 GB). Darvish is out. The bottom of the rotation looks ugly with Nick Tepesch supporting a 0-2, 8.36 ERA.

Dickey is 3-4 with a 4.05 ERA and would be an upgrade over Tepesch. They have Ryan Rua on the trade block. He's a 61(B) with a .282/.331/.400 line with 3 HR and 19 RBI (26 games).

I was wondering if I could swing Rua for Dickey. I know everyone would rather have dickey, but here is the curveball. I would take Josh Hamiltons contract. He's due 25 mil the next 3 years and he's batting .162/.250/.221 with 1HR and 4RBI in 18 games with Texas and I am sure they would love to have his contract off the books. I would throw in a reliever like Tepera or something. So it would be

Dickey + reliever for Rua + Hamilton.

Yea I know I am getting fleeced but I don't mind Hamilton. He can play LF 94 even be a bench bat and collateral in case I can't sign Bau/EE. I can even possibly teach him 1B???? Rua might be a decent prospect, but I am definitely open for suggestions.

My bullpen has actually been okay now that I have figured it out. This is who I have out of the mlb pen:

                          Storen
                          Osuna
                          Cecil
                          Nathan
                          Schultz
                          Vic Black
                          Happ

Schultz is a surprise and Nathan/Black were my 2 ST minor league signings who ended up panning out. In AAA I have lots of depth with:

                          Loup
                          Tepera
                          Wesley Wright (waiver claim)
                          Jenkins
                          Dragmire
                          Carlos Contraras (waiver claim)
                          Leon

                          Can also move:
                          Hutchinson
                          Hernandez
                          Floyd

What are your ideas? Hope this helps!

I'd move Dickey for Deshields + Rua and move Profar to their starting OF. Or Mazara. And I would give Happ and Loup a chance. lol
