Hard to BABIP-check a guy with DeShields' speed. I'd think we'd want more data. But, a .334 BABIP is not at all unreasonable for a burner. In fact, it might be a bit low.
If you maintain his ratings and reset, I believe it works?

Sure but it's not like he hits the ball particularly hard either. ZiPS and Steamer use way more data than us and they're projecting .308. In fact, the opposite approach is the best bet; an absence of data means we should be conservative, not optimistic on his BABIP.

I had my eye on Josh Fields. He has been pushed down the depth chart due to the acquisition of Giles and guys like Harris, Neshek, Sipp, and Gregerson getting bumped down. But they have Feldman for that swingman role.

I really don't understand all of the Blue Jays fans coming into the thread looking to immediately/illegally/unrealistically trade off new players.

It's Jesse Chavez. Not like I am looking to move Happ who was just given a fairly significant contract. I do agree with the realism though, it truly is just a shame when a video game could become slightly unrealistic.

Any suggestions on a fair trade from the Cardinals to get Chris Davis?

Maybe I take Hamilton+Rua+a starter prospect?? Or give back some kind of lesser prospect?? Although I am drooling to know I could get Deshields for Dickey!
not necessarily, theres value in him this year for a series push just like late season trades

I need to acquire an average to below average outfielder for depth reasons. I'd prefer not to give up much more than some decent prospects. Any recommendations? I'd prefer they be right-handed and no older than 33.

It's always the Blue Jays people, too. lol. Every single time. No fan base is as stir crazy about their roster.

As for the DeShields BABIP thing...he's posted some pretty high BABIPs in the minors bordering on .400 so there is precedent, however murky.

Tommy Pham on the expensive end. Whichever of Jon Jay/Jabari Blash loses the LF job for SD. Rusney, if you have a bad contract. Alejandro De Aza is probably your best bet, he'll be traded shortly I think. I imagine he'll consent to a deal.

Many thanks, AC. I'll see what I can pull off. Badly need another player in the outfield. RF is bad enough without depth.

When OSFM comes out I'll be starting a franchise with the Yankees and I'd like to trade for Nolan Arenado as a franchise cornerstone. Is there any fair trade? if possible I'd like to dump Chase Headley.

So I ended up trading, Matt Adams, Jhonny Peralta and Jaime Garcia for Chris Davis and Wei-Yin Chen, fair?

So would Dickey + a C reliever for Jackson or ChiChi + Rua + Hamiltons brutal contract get a deal done??
